I was also placed in the eastern campus after being on the waitlist and accepted in April. I think that's probably where waitlisted accepted people are going to be accepted to just fyi
 
Is there an accepted students GC? Also was accepted April 16th to Charleston campus after being WL in early March. OOS (NJ) no ties to West Virginia.

You should be receiving emails with "Nield's Notes". The groupme and facebook groups are linked in either these or maybe on the accepted students page.

I think this is true for people who were accepted off of the top of the waitlist because the Eastern campus had the openings, but as people who were accepted right after their interview drop acceptances, I'm sure Morgantown/Charleston spots will open up. I really hate that they don't let us switch even if other spots are open.

I took notes during the interview session, based on the notes that I took/my understanding during the session there is a way to swamp campuses however I think it is after classes start. I am not sure if anyone else remembers this from the session or if current students can comment on this.

You can swap campuses with someone at any time before the start of clinical years. It is simply finding someone agreeable and filing some paperwork. Historically, it is easy to swap to either charleston or eastern, and hard to swap to morgantown. Most common swap reason out of morgantown ive seen is proximity to family.

lol very vague— I only ask because I’m a little annoyed about having to buy a laptop through the school. Any chance you’d have any thoughts on owning two laptops; one for school and one for extracurricular stuff, research, etc? It sounds ridiculous but I kind of hate MacBook airs lol

@Bobiscius may be better positioned to answer. My understanding is that all of your school stuff is run through the mac. I believe tests have to be done on the mac. However, that doesnt mean you cant have your own second laptop. Again, hopefully they can provide some more insight but I think there is no getting around the mac due to tests.

Thank you! Yeah I don’t think there’s any getting around it, was just looking for some opinions on it. I appreciate it.

Yes, you use it for epic and logging histories. You use it for exams. There’s some stuff they need on it or something. It’s aggravating that it’s required but it’s probably to let the IT people have less head scratchers over different models and OS’s.

Having 2 monitors is really helpful. I use a tablet (for notability slides) and my laptop for a quick google search
 
I just got the call! Accepted off the waitlist! I’m an OOS student with no real ties to West Virginia but loved the school and the state when I visited. Good luck to all those on the waitlist it does really happen!

Does anyone know when they reject people off the WL? I’m about to lose my teaching job and am screwing my girlfriend out of our lease because I have no idea when I’ll get a decision. I’ve been on the waitlist since Oct 15th. I’m grateful to even be in this position but I would rather be rejected today instead of July and lose my job and a place to live

I don’t know if this helps but I interviewed 2/20 and WL on 3/5. But I think if I am not mistaken they reevaluate their WL class when spots become available. So I don’t think it’s necessarily ranked I think it’s a wholistic evaluation.

Unfortunately we could be on the WL until start of class. I know it's really hard. I'm there with you and empathize completely. It's a joke that programs make us wait a year for answers.

OOS (New England) with minimal ties to WV, interviewed 1/31 and waitlisted 3/5, got the A call at 1:30 this afternoon! Thirding the question about any accepted students’ group chat, and good luck to everyone still waiting!

This was today! Was out for a hike and came back to a missed call. I was placed on the WL in like Oct 2024

There is a group chat! It’s not very lively lol but you guys should be able to look up WVU admitted students page (there’s a page on the website) and there should be a link to the Facebook and GroupMe. You’ll also receive all this info in an email if you can’t find it online. I’m not home now but I can DM all of you if you can’t find it!
