Does anyone know how many applicants are put on the waitlist each cycle?
I think quite a bit. Not sure of the exact number but it seems most OOS applicants are waitlisted. Last year they took 50ish off waitlist according to MSAR.

If I got WLed, should I still send an update letter now and a LOI later, or should I save those updates for the LOI closer to WL movement time (april/may)?

Does anyone know if we are allowed to send update letters if we are on a pre-ii hold? Or are we only allowed to send them if we have an interview?

i uploaded an update to the portal and i'm on pre-ii hold

It seems like most OOS applicants get waitlisted. Looking on past years threads it seems a couple get off the waitlist before March, but majority happens after the AMCAS deadline for accepting offers of admission.

How was everyone’s interview here? any curveballs?
Nope, probably my most relaxed and enjoyable. Only curveball was getting waitlisted. However, I’m OOS so that seems normal.

OOS R just now, was previously on hold. Email says they are winding down their interview season.

Anyone know if there is a way to see who your interviewers are?

Also, talked to a student and they said WVU waitlists almost every OOS student until all the in states they offered made their decisions. If they could take a class of 100% ISS, sounds like they would

They should send you an email with a picture and short bio of your interviewers. I don’t recall when they send those tho, but definitely at least a day before your interview.

Do you know if when IS people need to make a decision by?

In the info session on my interview day, they said the most WL movement happens in March - May but that was about as specific as they could be.

I got interviewer bios the weekend before my interview! My interview was on a Friday, got the bios the Saturday before.

Have any OOS applicants been accepted yet? I took a look at last year's thread and it seems like the first wave of WL to A for OOS applicants happened in December

wow really that early? I was WL mid-November and still chilling on the WL lol. would love to know if anyone OOS has gotten the A yet!

Honestly so few OOS people make it off the waitlist I think we might be waiting til April lol

Anybody know what time of the day they typically send decisions out? I remember my interview invite was at like 10PM

From what I have seen from this cycle, most people have posted on SDN with their result at ~11:15 am EST the second Wednesday following their interview. So I am assuming it should be around the same time for us today....

I’m a current WVU SoM student and this is not totally true. I’m OOS and was accepted outright in November of my application year, as were a handful of my classmates. But many OOS students are initially waitlisted vs IS. I’ll also add my MCAT was a 510 so it wasn’t anything outlandishly amazing. They really weigh in the interview.

Are you from a neighboring state?
