Current or prospective AWSOM students, what has your experience been like applying for private loans? Was it with/without a cosigner? I'm just checking before I decide to apply this upcoming cycle.

Hey @DrainCravens! I’m also going to have to apply for private loans this cycle, and it’s definitely daunting! Idk if you’ve heard about it, but there’s a program called Juno that looks like it’s gonna help a lot of students get access to better interest rates. Basically a ton of applicants to med school or other grad programs sign up for free to their program, and then they use this big group of people needing loans to make lenders compete to get a better deal for students! Their website has way more info and resources on stuff like co-signers and loan options!
But this is the link to their website to sign up for the group! The more of us that join, the more power they’ve got to negotiate better rates and terms for us this cycle which we’ll definitely need!😅

Just withdrew my A... it was a hard decision 🙁 decided to stay in home state for school due to family reasons. I hope this gets someone off the WL soon!

P.S. From my personal experiences (in person visit and email communication), I would highly recommend AWSOM, the admissions team have great communication and transparency, they are very receptive to changes/different opinions, and the campus looks soo nice and bentonville was so cute 🙂

Also withdrew my acceptance with a full scholarship lol. Want to stay close to family and to a school with a longer track record. Phenomenal school tho. I wish I were in the fifth class so I could see the match list.
