Are there any accepted or WL students going to the second look day on 3/27 who are traveling with a sibling or spouse? Only prospective students are allowed to come to the event and my wife would be interested in making some connections while we’re in Chicago. Something casual like coffee or sightseeing

i thought its' the 03/27 is the first look day , its called the second?

My fiance and I were going to but neither of us have enough time off of work to go.

This one’s either because of MCAT / some lacking academic metric or if you’re a poor interviewer. Usually the former

Nah I am living proof of that with another MD school (*cough Methodist cough*). One of my interviewers told me after my post-II R the rejection was solely because of my MCAT. Sometimes, schools II people with lower metrics to cast a wider net (i.e., "mission fit")

Because the people who send IIs are not necessarily the same adcoms who do a final review when selecting a candidate post-II

I thought rush is different and focus on selecting applicants who are mission fit

As do almost all other MD schools. Doesn't mean what I said above doesn't hold true. There's an analogy @LizzyM made that the lower your LM score is, the harder it is to beat out an applicant with an II that has a higher LM score even if you both interviewed well. It's a staircase analogy

rip that's so dumb on their part lol. seems like they are wasting time sending out IIs if they know the MCAT is too low anyway. Sorry that happened bro
 
What I don't get is why this school strings along people stating they made it past stage A, stage B, etc. only to mass reject in the end. Stop sending emails like that when you're simply not going to interview. Emails like that should be only reserved for those eventually selected for an II

Ya never know! Could always be a WL or even A disproving everything I just said

For context, I don't think what I said holds nearly as much for URMs

Had the last interview date and heard back this week got put on the WL sent in a LOI anything else? It’s my only MD school and trully wanna be there! How are my odds looking getting an A from here …

I got off the waitlist 4 weeks before the start of class so anything its definitely possible. Wl movement seems to vary every year

in the financial aid session they said they should process your financial aid package within 48 hours after you have submitted all your forms! if you have any issue, email them! they might be missing something from you
