I have fortunately been accepted to my top two choices: Ohio State and Cincinnati. I just wanted to get some insight from others on the two schools so I can decide on which school later on.

Ohio State (pros):
I had a great vibe at my interview. I left thinking that this was definitely the school for me
The LSI curriculum goes well with my learning style and this is probably my favorite thing about the school
The school's office of diversity was welcoming. They also have a great active SNMA chapter and I was able to connect well with its members.
The students appeared to be genuinely happy and to be very friendly with each other (it actually shocked me how open and welcoming even students who had nothing to do with interview day were in passing)
The facilities are great and Dr. Capers seemed to be a great asset to the school
You have lots of different types of mentors
There are lots of opportunities for furthering your medical education and helping you stand out for applying to residency even outside of the standard classes
I loved Columbus (especially since I'm coming from a small town in Michigan)

Cincinnati (pros)
The students and faculty were very personable and all said they were very happy. I think their students are really what makes the school so inviting.
I interviewed on diversity day and was able to see that they value diversity as well and have lots in place for embracing that
Their curriculum is systems based I believe and that's a plus for me
I also thought the initial first responder training was unique and interesting
Their facilities seemed a little newer than OSU's
Of course there's probably more pros for Cincinnati that I didn't pick up on because I was nervously awaiting my MMI

I don't really have any glaring cons for either school. They're both equally ranked and offer similar opportunities. They would both be good schools. Ill take into consideration the financial aspect of these schools after I get to see the financial aid packet next year.

So is there any more insight that people can give me on these schools? Any more pros and cons to consider? Which school would you lean toward? If it helps, I'm an AA female from a small town and small UG in Michigan with no preference for any specialty so far.

I'd lean towards Ohio State because it will be a little better known outside the Midwest. But...these schools are so similar, I'd go to whichever is least expensive unless the difference is under $5k. Congrats

I can't help you too much, but I interviewed on diversity day at Cinci and absolutely loved it. The only school I would even consider attending over it would be OSU, but I'm almost hoping I don't hear from them so I don't have to make this decision! Good luck, two great schools!

Only insight I have is that if you want to do pediatrics cincinatti is the way to go. Matches very well into peds every year, and the home program is amazing as well

I interviewed at both schools, accepted to Cincinnati and rejected at Ohio state. Location wise, I prefer Cincinnati to Columbus because I found there is so much more to do with the professional sports teams, symphony, etc, but Columbus also has a lot. Both schools have a large undergrad population and college sports (definitely for OSU) so if you want that feature, osu has the edge. UC definitely has the advantage for pediatrics.

UCs medical school building is also one of the coolest I've seen and they really value student wellness with like those nap rooms, but OSU students seemed very happy and great.

Can't go wrong with either! Go to second look if you can, the decision doesn't have to be made now.

Personally, I probably preferred OSU over Cincinnati very slightly because I liked the loyalty and culture surrounding OSU and the football team, which I didn't really pick up at UC. Cincinnati is such a cool city though, I definitely will be revisiting.
