Class of 2020... how you doin?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I've become so apathetic this semester, I overhear people hardcore studying for our first anatomy quiz today and I'm like "meh, I'll wing it." It's only 24 points out of 840 in the class, so if it doesn't go well there's plenty of opportunities to make it up. I thought I was type A before vet school, but some of these people seriously have zero chill.

I always think I have zero chill and then I meet people who have less chill than the damn sun and feel better about myself.

The same thing is happening here. We have a case study where it's graded on "effort" aka completion. But there's a significant portion of the class who this doesn't click. Half of us were like, "Meh. This totally shows effort! Submit!" And the other half are, "OHMYGOD,IDON'TKNOWIFTHISISRIGHT!!!!1!!1!"

I've got dangerous levels of chill. Could probably use some anti chill in my life but I just can't be bothered.
Um, this is me. I've studied like maybe six hours total outside of school (I have been good and used lunch or gaps a few times to study) since we started back.

Exams start next week and we only have one week without exams from here on out. Going to be a busy semester.

I have studied not at all outside of school time. Not even during lunch or anything. Exams start next week for us too, and we have one or two every week except spring break and then the two weeks before finals. I really need to get my **** together.

I'm currently trying to incorporate less chill in my life because I need to read like seventy pages about insurance law, environmental health policy, and Zika virus before tomorrow. 😱

I did finish one paper about private health coverage. My only conclusion is that I hope I never get sick and just skip straight to the dying suddenly part.

Also that listening to Fiddler on the Roof is much more fun than learning about insurance.

Most (um all... ) may or may not have been spent with watching nutrition lectures and taking corresponding quizzes since that's all online right now

I've become such a great student.

raw

Today was an alcohol and cheese fries kind of night.

ETA: It's only Monday. :dead:

This is such a visceral reaction to legumes. Did kidney beans kill your whole family?

Red Kidney Bean Poisoningis an illness caused by a toxic agent, Phytohaemagglutnin (Kidney BeanLectin). Different types of lectins are found in many species of beans, but are highest in concentration in redkidney beans. The unit of toxinmeasure is the hemagglutinating unit

I'm sorry your family didn't fully cook their beans. 😉

@DVMDream until you have tried chili with ALL the beans (chickpeas, black beans, white beans, kidney beans) I will forgive you that opinion. 😛

It coincidentally also doesn't have meat, but that's a whole other debate.
That's not a debate, it's just a correction of your misguided beliefs about chili.

I hope this post isn't about me 😛

Why is this such a massive debate???

I have never once in my life until being on SDN had anyone show any opinion of the sort on the topic.
It is a debate that exists in the real world too. Maybe you've haven't been talking to the right people 😉

Only the third week of classes and I'm already home feeling like crap for the day. I swear I lasted at least two months before I had to take a sick day last semester.
Boo, that sucks 🙁 half my class came back from break sick. I had a pretty bad cough last week for a few days, but thankfully it's gone now.

Hope you feel better soon!
