Class of 2020... how you doin?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
This is already feeling like the longest semester ever!!!!!!

And they're making me suture things, which I'm terrible at
Practice practice practice!!!
I think there are very few people who start out great at it but it becomes a muscle memory thing if you do it enough.

Very true, didn't mean to sound like I was saying people need to just suck it up, because I totally get that isn't always a thing, nor should they have to. Not to say I don't complain either, sometimes I just can't handle the amount of complaining I hear. I feel like every conversation reverts back to school and how much it sucks, and that in itself sucks. You're totally right though, everyone handles things completely different, I just need to be better about not letting it affect MY day so much, like you said.
No worries, I was just throwing that in there because it helps me keep things in perspective when I have similar feelings. But essentially, yeah, you can't control the vibes that other people are putting out, your only true responsibility is your own mental health. So do what you have to do to keep yourself in a good place 🙂

We’re two weeks in and start exams next week and I’ve just started putting any real effort into studying. Whoops. It’ll be fine though, right? 😛
Totes fine, I'm in a similar boat
Though I think our first exam is in two weeks so...maybe a little less water in my boat 😛

We have our first radiology exam on Thursday, over all the normal radiographic anatomy that we learned first year. I remember nothing, I have no idea how to study for it, and all the third years I've talked to have made it sound horrible. 😢

Also our schedule this semester is rough, I got spoiled last semester being done at noon on Fridays, and around 3 every other day depending on how long bacT lab took.

Oh, and we have two exams (radiology and virology) on March 8th, and three exams back to back April 23rd, 24th and 25th. Our clin path professor was willing to move her exam (the one on the 24th) to the following week, but since that's the week before finals it could only be done if the class unanimously approved it. Which of course didn't happen. :rage: Our class president is trying to figure out if we can move one of the other exams, but basically this semester is going to be the death of me.
Yiiiiiikes.
For studying normal radiology, I found it most helpful to basically quiz myself on images.

Similar schedule feels here, though I'm kind of used to it from last semester. I miss first year schedule...so many free afternoons.

You guys can have exams on the same day?? Another yikes for that.

you need two of everything once you hit the singularity. Counterintuitive, I know
Makes perfect sense to me

Also I want to point out that it's amusing that one sister is in 2020, one is in 2021, and the stepsister is straddling the line between the two. The FUBAR family strikes again.

I refuse to respond to this on your thread but we are clearly winning right now and you will just have to live with it Dubz.

Also, geez team 2021, stop reminding her that this is a competition.
I'm sorry, winning? Looks to me like we're still in the lead.

And you know I can keep that lead going all on my own if I have to. Look at my post count 😉

Not that far in the lead considering your 10 month head start...
Some of those months we were in school while y'all were free to post to your heart's content

I should delete all my posts in that thread...

The fact that I've been sitting here going to the effort to reply to posts here instead of in the thread where they were posted, when I should be getting work done and studying, is perhaps the best example I can give of how ****ty of a student I am

tonight I went through homeworks for two different classes, answered them in my head after spending a ton of time looking stuff up/thinking about them, and didn't write anything down to submit, meaning I'll have to redo all of it again later. I don't even know what to call that, it's all of the work of being a student but none of the incredibly brief satisfaction, with the promise of future punishment to come. masochism: the learning experience

I don't understand why you would do this

I'm extending an olive branch. For the sake of the poor confused people who can't figure out why we're carrying on one conversation in two separate threads.
I was one post away from doing the same thing out of laziness

At least it'll maybe be easier when you go to write it down, since you've already thought about it?
I think a lot of it is because these homeworks are largely case based and I think I like to go through for initial impressions and then sleep on it and revisit with fresh eyes

Apparently, this is the first time it's happened other than last year we had two physiology exams the same day, but they kind of passed it off as parts 1 and 2 of one exam. 🙄 Our president's trying to get the March 8th situation changed too, apparently radiology can't be moved but she's talking to our virology professor.

Why don’t we push all this thread wars discussion and MOVE IT TO THE WATERING HOLE SO WE CAN FINALLY BEAT THE RANT THREAD.
