Just looked up everything for where I'm moving. Gotta say, I'm kinda glad my fiancee didn't want to move now 😆
You should just stay!I like the states that keep it easy. For CO I literally have to hand them like $300 and proof I passed NAVLE. On the one hand what the hell do they need the $300 for, on the other hand eh at least it's not as stressful as it could be
I might, depends where I match. You should just stay!
Acceptable. I can wait until that afternoon to start my existential crisis.Meant to put the 15th since I'll still have ortho patient AM shift that Monday. That's what I get for posting on my phone and not reading what my phone-fingers type.
But when do you get your own signature stamp? That's my question.
My vets have always signed every rabies certificate. Only time they don’t is if it’s a reprint and they’re either not in the office or they’re in surgery/another appointment and the client came in person to request one vs calling first.lol that you think i don't hand sign every single certificate
My job has these but most of the time I still end up hand signing them because I forget it exists 😂But when do you get your own signature stamp? That's my question.
same bc I applied to essentially clinics in 11 different states and I am NOT getting licensed in all of 11 + Texas.I mean... same. I'm mostly looking at places in Michigan but I'm seriously considering clinics in a couple other states so like... where the hell am I going to be? Where do I license myself? What do I even?
Sending good, good, good thoughts to you! You got this one!Scheduled my state boards today...it feels like NAVLE part 2
Same with Rhode Island, except that's just a cost thing. The license is like $700! Crazy.Oh I mean I've read the packet, just yikes to everything. CA really does screw themselves out of good veterinarians with how hard they make it to get licensed and how long it takes
Oh good, I might end up at the university of Illinois actuallyHighly recommend Illinois license. It's like $100 every 2 years and you just have to prove you graduated/passed NAVLE. It might take them 6 months to process it the first time but it was a lot easier and cheaper than most other states I've heard of (except maybe Iowa?).
hey I might end up at a different private practice hospital but is in Illinois!Oh good, I might end up at the university of Illinois actually
We can wave at each other virtually like we have been for years but IN THE SAME STATE 😀hey I might end up at a different private practice hospital but is in Illinois!
I’ll wave at you from the SAME HOSPITALWe can wave at each other virtually like we have been for years but IN THE SAME STATE 😀
Oh yeah if I end up as an intern there I might have to teach youI’ll wave at you from the SAME HOSPITAL![]()
Wow. The state of Illinois summed up beautifully. It might take them 6 months to process it the first time

If you have her on a rotation, I want a confirmatory snap!!Oh yeah if I end up as an intern there I might have to teach you![]()
Don’t you worry there will be many creeper snaps from across the roomIf you have her on a rotation, I want a confirmatory snap!!
This is just a good reminder to myself not to whine about things before they happen... this week was actually great, the clinician was lovely and gave extremely useful feedback, my fellow student was a super teammate, and I should know better than to think people in this hospital will be anything other than awesome.Whiny crap
Ah I love them. Hands down one of my favorite days at one of my zoo externships was a giraffe procedure day. Coolest and most nerve-wracking thing I've ever been a part of.I'm currently at a zoo (last day is tomorrow 🙁 ) and been spending a decent amount of time with giraffe. Today has been especially very giraffey. Can confirm that they are big.
Makes me want to go back to zoo med.
We did giraffe mani/pedi day yesterday 😍giraffe procedure day
That is awesome! Were they good for their pampering? We did giraffe mani/pedi day yesterday 😍
That is terrifying to me. Anesthetizing a horse is bad enough thanksThat is awesome! Were they good for their pampering?
Ours was custom fitting a shoe to try to help with healing a broken toe. Nerve-wracking because she had to be anesthetized.
They're all trained for mani/pedi days. They do 10/farrier visit. The 3.5 month old is even figuring it out. There is one case that I shouldn't discuss in public for the sake of Zoo confidentiality. But definitely sat in on hour plus discussion on giraffe anesthesia with the farrier team and vets. Intense. Were they good for their pampering?
Major concerns for ischemia, regurgitation, ventilation problems, and trauma. Don't you also need a big tilt table or angled mats or something to keep their head elevated above the heart? But definitely sat in on hour plus discussion on giraffe anesthesia with the farrier team and vets. Intense.
He definitely did go over some of that. Induction and recovery are the top concerns. This farrier team travels all over the country doing zoo species hoofstock hoor care and he showed several awesome videos of inductions and recoveries.Major concerns for ischemia, regurgitation, ventilation problems, and trauma. I'm currently applying to shelter medicine internships, hoping to specialize down the road. I want to work predominantly in forensics thoughI already know for some of you, but for others I'm not totally sure so... if anybody feels like sharing, what are you plans post graduation? Just like in general. Specializing (and if so, in what)? GP? Species?
I'm just nosy. But also just thinking about how we're all gonna be real live doctors soon.

I believe in youuuuuu!!!!!You've probably seen my posts but I am in the match for a lab animal residency. My interviews have gone well. I have a few more to get through and then rank places by February 12th. Hoping I will match! I love seeing where everyone else is going. I'm on a tough large animal medicine rotation currently but once it's over the rest of clinics are pretty chill until the last block or so.

Ya we used a board angled on a stack of hay bales for the one I was involved inMajor concerns for ischemia, regurgitation, ventilation problems, and trauma. Don't you also need a big tilt table or angled mats or something to keep their head elevated above the heart?
GP for the short term -- most interested in practices with a large feline caseload but am basically looking at everything from feline only to mixed large/small. More interested in the atmosphere & team fit than the species focus.I already know for some of you, but for others I'm not totally sure so... if anybody feels like sharing, what are you plans post graduation? I’m also in the match for small animal rotating/ ECC specific internship! I’m 70:30 whether I want to pursue an ECC residency or I want to go work as an ER doc. I’ve had a couple interviews, but I have 3 this upcoming week! I’ve interviewed at my #1 and #2 places. #2 went phenomenally, #1 did good but could’ve been a lot better? But I’ve done an externship there before and they seemed to like meI already know for some of you, but for others I'm not totally sure so... if anybody feels like sharing, what are you plans post graduation? No she is EXACTLY as much of a psycho in real life!Uh oh... I'm having one of those moments when I realize I'm not very anonymous.
If any future employers look at this, I promise I'm not as much of a psycho as my WW persona would lead you to believe.

Honestly... maybe I should start using it as a selling point. No she is EXACTLY as much of a psycho in real life!
And at the end of the day, would you really want to work with people who couldn't appreciate your love of murdering your friends online?Honestly... maybe I should start using it as a selling point.
As a game moderator, I'm creative, perfectionistic, and patient
As a player, I'm dedicated, attentive to detail, social, determined, confident, reliable, experienced at navigating ambiguity, and an excellent team leader (since wolfing is my fave)
How's that sound? We don't need to tell them about the other stuff.
I'm not sure how to spin my gameplay positively. As a mod I am creative, fun, funny, and foster group comaraderie.Honestly... maybe I should start using it as a selling point.

I’m sorry. 🙁It's official. No in-person graduation ceremony this year. It's not unexpected, but still sad when it becomes official 😢
I'm going to join a large (~16 doctor) practice and get going on the elopement/house buying/child making thing. Small animal GP/ER/soft tissue surgery will be the medicine. This is the short term (5ish year) plan.I already know for some of you, but for others I'm not totally sure so... if anybody feels like sharing, what are you plans post graduation? Graduation fees???? We don’t have those, and I think I would lose my mind. I just checked, and I’ve paid my vet school $198,453 for tuition and fees and thus far, and they have the AUDACITY to ask for more for graduation? figure it out, bud. Use the almost two hundred thousand dollars I’ve given you and figure it out.Question for all of you graduating if you don't mind sharing-does your school have a graduation fee and if so how much is it?
yeah I just found out it's $60 here which is dumb b/c yeah lost of moniesGraduation fees???? We don’t have those, and I think I would lose my mind.
