Class of 2022...how you doin'?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
University wide policy is that we have to have a study day prior to the start of finals, so vet students get that benefit too.
Man I wish our school did this. Oh you have a test friday?! Cool let's load up an extra 5 lectures Thursday and four more Friday so you don't have a weekend because you have another test next Friday too!!!! :heckyeah:

Yeeah that's what all our midterm exams are like (well, not the noobies). It's just during finals that we get a study day. I would hate the thing where you get taught something and then tested in it two days later though. I like a week between the end of the material and the exam.

Tangent: I think I just heard an effing mouse in my room. No. I effing refuse. This isn't a thing.
There's a bat that occasionally hangs out in my apartment wall. It gets stuck right behind the couch I like to use to study... and has an affinity for getting stuck around exam days.

Does secret agent tabby cat know about this? :cat:

I somehow managed to salvage my grade in the class where I failed a quiz. With the last exam, I’m officially up to a B! :heckyeah:

In other news, I have a final on a Friday, a group presentation on Monday, a Neuro midterm on Tuesday next week, and a Parasitiology exam next Thursday. AND THEN FINALLY SPRING BREAK!

Last semester we had a day between each final exam (save for 1 exception). This semester we have, wait for it, TWO DAYS between each final (save for another exception with only a 1 day gap). It’s going to be the least stressful finals period I’ve ever had.

😱

Today my cat had ear polyp removal surgery and the specialist let me stay and watch! I missed class but it was totally worth it
I'm always a fan of missing class for some real hands-on experience 🙂 I've missed 2 behavior classes so far to participate in C-sections!

Why do the kidneys hate us?
Because we forget that AII increases prostaglandins which actually blocks vasoconstriction in renal tissues, which is different than what alsosterone, vasopressin, and general vasoconstriction were doing when AII hit the scene? FFS was my reaction.

I did. Left for a few days.

yeah I’m doing the Banfield student jobs program, and it’s pretty nice. Especially since they pay so well. I’m learning a LOT!
I just got accepted to do that! Could you tell me more of what it’s like? What you do? What kind of scrubs they give you?

Why is gut phys The Most Tedious Thing to study for. That One Prof's portion is long finished, but it was such a large portion of this course that the next exam tomorrow is still gonna be almost entirely his material.....and god did he make so much material. just drowning me in bile acids and rumen slurry.

Also, totally may have screwed myself over for a summer research thing I wanted to participate in this summer. That March deadline seemed so far away, until February happened  I went ahead and contacted a few profs anyway though, so even if I can't get all my application materials in time, at least I might be able to get involved with research in some way outside of that program if possible, and apply for real next year...worst they can tell me is no thank you I guess. Kicking myself for not being on top of that, though, ugghh. but academically, I'm really happy with how I'm doing this semester compared to last semester! (with the exception of aforementioned class)

Oh hey the gut is what I’ve been learning this half of the quarter too.
(Though personally I’ll take it over the cardio and resp from the first half of the quarter...)

We haven't gotten to gut phys yet. I like cardio. Kidneys are ok but just so much happens to them via different mechanisms. We started resp phys today it was great granted it was just day 1 [emoji23]

2 more quizzes and the path exam stand between me and freedom! Getting that immuno exam out of the way was a big relief though.

See, we had cardio and resp at the same time, all smushed into 4 weeks

For us, skeletal phys followed by resp phys was the veeeery first thing we covered on the first day of school 🙂 And cardio was the last section covered before finals. Though, I guess technically we also had cell phys at the same time since we have 2 courses of phys concurrently in the first semester.

I’m literally at the peak “I don’t care level” right now. I have a Neuro exam tomorrow. I’ve studied for it for probably an hour. And I mentally CANNOT focus on it any longer.

Spring break is next week thank god but I also have a Parasit Exam on Thursday and uujjjjjjjuuhhhggggghhhhhh.

I’ve never felt this apathetic towards school in my life.

We just had 4 hours of clinical anatomy and we have 3 anesthesiology today... I want to go back to break.
I loved cardio and resp phys. I haven’t gotten to gut yet, we are in repro right now.

I’m curious too! I got accepted to do this during this summer as well!
