Yeah, it said "nobody likes a gunner." The next line translated for me as the first 3 to place a vote are your choices for lynch.

It was too late when I saw people voting with the comment of "I want to vote tomorrow, so here is my lynch," but I couldn't figure out how it must have translated for you. I also couldn't figure out how your translation reconciled with "Nobody likes a Gunner"? All I could think is maybe people had a translation pop up that looked more like "Be the Gunner" and place your vote first to vote tomorrow?

I was on mobile, translating line by line while sitting in recovery land. Google only offered me one page. The next was all by hand, copying and pasting into Google translate. And after my first message, I realized I had better check what translation came back. I put what Google gave me as French in the text box and sometimes it came out as spaghetti soup. So then I had to alter my phrasing so it was simpler... yeah that was all a mess on a phone.

I honestly don't remember what exactly it translated into for me. I assume that like me, the others were at work or school or otherwise preoccupied, and having to translate into French was already a pain enough, so irritatingly trying to read thru the translated write up, we picked up on: first 3 to vote..... only three.... lynch cycle tomorrow....

Really doesn't look like the other two saw it that way. Pretty sure FFM didn't even translate it, just saw that things needed to be in French and so posted his lynch vote. Kcough translated it, saw she would be up for lynch, but decided it didn't matter as much since she's already in some half dying limbo state. So I guess that brings us to you, who translated it and decided that even though you really had no reasons, you really wanted to be able to vote today.

Well maybe I'm the only one who read it that way. Anyway, lynch me, don't lynch me, whatever. I'm villager. I'm sure at some point today I'll have to role reveal; to save time, I'm a USB port.

Just kidding. After being amused all day by the ease with which people could use Google Translate to translate their annoyance that they couldn't strategize in French, while not apparently being able to use it to translate their strategy, the night following was pretty darn boring. Absolutely no drunk people knocked ajar any sort of computer settings, and we didn't even find any new and exciting executable files for the lynch today! Thank goodness. I think ya'll may have shot both mods if we had another... "language" snafu.
Not gonna lie this is pretty insulting. I explained why it would be hard to strategize, particularly for those on mobile or tablets and why it was a bad idea and I'm getting mocked? Sure as heck doesn't encourage me to keep playing. I mean I know you think it was no big deal, but for people not on chrome or with a computer close, it was.

Just was amused by it. Not meant specifically about you by any means, and not meant maliciously - joking tone might have been lost in internet translation.

Speaking of things that got lost in translation, it looks like @hazelmoo said her ability was stolen yesterday. I don't think that made it into the summary of yesterday.

I don't see anything particularly amusing about the vast majority of players basically saying, "eff this" and abandoning thread. You're actually damn lucky I decided to wait and be "nice" by posting my frustration in french. I almost said eff this in English and peaced out much earlier. I do and many others do the majority of playing via phones, a language swap is very frustrating to impossible and then to mock people about voicing that frustration is downright rude.

Oh good lordie. Not intending to be rude. Once again, I apologize to everyone if it reads that way, as my intent was positive/joking. This is what happens when I do write-ups at 6am.

I also use my phone for most of my WWing (besides write-ups) and totally understand that yesterday took extra time.

Yep, someone stole my ability and changed the language. I was still deciding whether I wanted to use it or not, but I was planning on waiting until Sunday when people were going to have time to translate. But now that I know how pissy people got over it, I'm not going to use it at all lol. I thought it was kind of a cool little feature of this game though.

Also, last night "I received a snippet of data: wolves, villagers and chaos makes the digital world go round".

Meh...at work, on my phone....ain't nobody got time for that.

I did translate one post from dyachei about my offensive language. That is it.

I volunteer myself as tribute.

I assuming that is confirming the three factions in this game then.

Yeah so, I'm actually pretty useful this game. As a USB port, I can open a line of communication with dead players as my ability. That's a whole wealth of info for team villager to potentially gain. Just throwin in out there.

Given that I don't have to lynch vote, I don't think I'm going to for now. Would prefer not to at all.
But unless everyone abstains then someone is going to get lynched... in which case I'm thinking I'll cast my vote at either FFM because he volunteered himself or KC because she's a ghost.

Unless FFM put in a contingency, hazel definitely voted before him.

(Tallying even when I can't tally. Heh.)
I think you mean hayley, and she voted for trilt, so likely didn't count. Which could mean she is chaos/wolf and was being tricksy, or not. who knows.

Nevermind, I lied. I was looking for bold, FFM's vote was in ##. Carry on.

Nah I just missed FFM's vote because it wasn't bolded (and in French)

Sounds like it was a planned event to turn things into french then slip in the early vote gunner bit. Pretty brilliant actually. Unless it was a whoopsie daisy by village, in which case for shame.

If it was a wolf ploy the entire way, yup, agreed - they used the game mechanisms to their advantage like they should, and kudos to them.

I think both of those things are really dumb things to include in the game though. They both give incentive to your players to not play. Shouldn't have been in the game to begin with. It is a case of "mechanics because we can, not because it's a good idea."

Lol. I once gave mouth to mouth to a wasp because I drowned it then felt bad*. Is that the same thing?

* It worked by the way!! It started breathing again and I left it out in the sun to dry out. I have never been stung by one again.

Sigghh. I'm willing to believe html and know nothing about FFM one way or the other so I guess for now
lynch KCough
unless FFM's really seriously wanting to go.

Was totally confused by the way the translation turned out yesterday so I had no idea it meant the first 3 people who made lynch votes. I thought originally that it meant the first 3 who got lynch votes ON them...but I guess that wouldn't make sense if one of those people ended up being the lynchee.

So I understood the rule as written (despite the translation effects) which is why I jumped in thinking I'm probably safe if I do get lynched again (not 100% sure about this btw). However I dont think we should entirely waste the day and am curious why FFM voted for himself...

He is the type that when gonado, doesn't mind taking the hit. I have no worries about his villagerness myself.

And why are you voting html? She has something that I personally find nice to have around when you could vote kc or abstain? That shouts poor village play or wolfy.
It's still early in the day, and I wanted to get a vote out there. And of the 3, it's who I believe the least.

I don't think KC is a wolf, I don't think FFM is one either. I know HTML the least and am less familiar with her(?) play style. So maybe I shouldn't say believe her the least, but rather know the least about her which makes me suspicious

What more do you want to know though? She gave her role and ability. As I said, I like that ability in the game. It just doesn't make sense to me to vote that way when KC won't have any penalty for the lynch or you can abstain.

I would be abstaining if I wasn't already forced to (I'm not bitter), always wanted to see what would happen if everyone refused to vote 😀
Has that ever happened in WW history?
