Any offers made recently?
Based on interview dates, I think we can safely assume UCONN, UAB, Iowa, Washington, Tennessee, UNC, Baylor and SLU have sent out offers.Any offers made recently?
Hahahha if only they have your sense of humor Thanksyou say your biggest weakness is answering that specific question.
SLU already sent out their acceptances.Based on interview dates, I think we can safely assume UCONN, UAB, Iowa, Washington, Tennessee, UNC, Baylor and SLU have sent out offers.
Tennessee, Iowa have as well. And I guess someone said Harvard. Anyone know any others that have for sure? I would recommend changing the font to red for the schools that have sent out acceptances. That’s what they did last year at least.SLU already sent out their acceptances.
Hi All,
This is my first post on SDN.I must congratulate all who even got the interview.I applied this cycle w/ big mistake of not applying to lot of schools and received no invitation yet.I graduated 2009 w/ 3.97 GPA and met few program directors who sounded very positive with my credentials but looks like I need something more to make my application stronger. I would request to people who got interview invitation/selected to please post your credentials for folks like me so we can improve our application for next year. Thanks for reading!
Schools usually reserve half of their seats for their own alumni/ connections, so the odd of getting accepted is quite small especially at more affordable 2-year programs. Please cast a broad net, apply broadly to maximize your chance evryone...I spent about 8k on application and interviewing last year, but i dont regret a bit. I would rather work hard to earn back the money than go through the application cycle the second time..
I applied to alot of schools but unfortunatly most of it is connections
Louisville offered their acceptances. I was lucky enough to get accepted. 3rd time's a charm.

Hey. I wanted to DM you but I can't. So all 4 were selected? At least according to what I've heard from fellow applicants
They do courtesy calls even if someone wasn't accepted. I didn't receive any calls! At least according to what I've heard from fellow applicants
I don’t think that’s necessarily trueThey do courtesy calls even if someone wasn't accepted. I didn't receive any calls!
Well, no UF thenI don’t think that’s necessarily true
They can’t see it anywhere but they do talk. At least some do. I had one school call me and say, I know you are interviewing at “school A” on the “this date”, would you be interested in seeing us on “this date”. The two department heads were prior colleagues and kept in touch about candidates. And also letting a school know you have other interviews doesn’t hurt you at all. If anything it could make you look more desirable.can programs see how many interviews you have? I'm just curious if they'll ask "where else are you interviewing?" I wonder if saying "this is my only interview" makes me look bad
Did they call/email over the weekend? Any idea?Pretty sure my friend got an offer to OHSU.
Big Hoss
Not sure. I haven’t checked in with them personally. Heard it from a mutual friend.Did they call/email over the weekend? Any idea?

From what I hear, they did and all offers have been made at OHSU. No idea if they've been accepted.Did they call/email over the weekend? Any idea?
the heck? just got a application complete notification from tufts. Aren't they already interviewing? So confused
I got it the same day people got invites. Idk they’re messing with us!!the heck? just got a application complete notification from tufts. Aren't they already interviewing? So confused
I didn't bring a portfolio of cases but I did bring copies of my (endo related) poster presentations/publications to a few interviews- I offered to show them when it came up, and it was well received. Some schools made photocopies or asked to keep them. So I don't think it hurts to bring extra stuff as long as you are sensible about when to bring them out; if anything, I think you'd seem very prepared. What is everyone’s opinion on bringing a Portfolio of cases you have completed to an interview? For the people that have interviewed, or the ones that have interviewed and been accepted, do you feel that having one helped in any way?

I received an "application incomplete" email a week after being offered an interview... they don't seem to be very organized..?the heck? just got a application complete notification from tufts. Aren't they already interviewing? So confused

Tread lightly with a portfolio. I've had a microscope with a built in camera in my practice for the last 2 years and I documented all my endo cases with photos in addition to preop and post op radiographs. I printed 25 colored portfolios of my cases, spent hundreds of dollars, and countless hours editing and preparing it, and In the end, only 1 program wanted to see it. These are literal responses I got from program directors when I emailed them asking if I should bring in a portfolio:
1) "We don't require a portfolio. The way I see it, you are going into an endo program to learn how to do endo, if you're already great at endo, good for you... we don't need you here"
2) "Please do not send cases and simply follow the directions."
3) "Personally I am not interested in seeing your cases. However, I do not speak for other Program Directors and they may like to see them.
There is no need to send them to me."
I applied to 18 - 20 programs, I lost count. Only one program was interested in looking at them, so now I have a box filled with portfolios at home. My wife keeps telling me to put them away, but I'm still proud of them! Remember, you're showing endo cases to seasoned endodontists. There's nothing that you've done that they haven't seen before, so it wont impress them, and they'll likely think "he (or she) thinks he's a hotshot, he won't be teachable". I'd spend your money and hours visiting programs and talking to program directors and residents instead.
