I never received an email, but my status shows "marked complete" as of 8/8.

For anyone who hasn't seen, if you login and then click on "my account" in the top right corner, you will see your status.

Nothing happens when I click on "My Account." 😕 When did you submit your secondary?

I was marked complete on 8/9 but haven't received an email, interview invite or otherwise.

II!!!!! Very excited to get this one!! I was offered the 6th, but chose the 9th. Good luck everyone!!

wow, congrats!

at what time did you guys receive the phone call? was there any notice or change in your portal?

Congrats to everyone who got an II! Now I've turned up my phone's ringer and have it glued to my hand...

Just got an email from the school stating that my file is complete and will be reviewed soon, and that if I were chosen for an interview they will contact me by phone.

Same. I was "complete" a lot sooner than now, as in I submitted everything, but lets see what they say 🙂

Congrats to all the interview invites so far!

30 minutes after my II phone call, I received the same email, lol.

I was complete 6/26 according to my portal.

I just got that same email as well, but I was complete a week or so ago so hopefully my app is being reviewed already.

I am going to have to call back tomorrow. I called back like ten minutes after I missed the call and got a voicemail. I then got the complete email about half an hour later as well.

Just got the call! Will be interviewing on 9/6. If anyone wants to discuss possible carpooling from the airport, etc, feel free to PM me.

I just scheduled an interview on 9/6 as well! Very excited. I was hoping to be able to drive, but I'm not traveling 10 hours by car to get there lol.

EDIT: Flights are running ~ $500 round trip vs ~ $150 in gas + driving....might choose to drive up there and sleep for a few hours before the interview. They invented coffee for such occasions right?

Just got a call as well but scheduled it for the 16th since I'm up against a bunch of other commitments. Could be a hectic month coming up.

I really need help with my application. For some reason I really think I have an undergradte admissions application.

It asks what county I am located in, my intended major and is I am pre-med or not?

Called them and find out I do have an undergraduate application, I am thinking about not applying for some reason I had the undergraduate application since Aug. 06.

is the closest major airport knoxville?

Yes.

I'm actually flying into Nashville and driving to the school. Nashville was the only airport where I could get a direct flight within the times I needed, in order to only miss a single day of work. The email said driving from Knoxville was 1.5-2 hours and Nashville is 3-3.5 hours I believe.

I'll get a great view of the countryside at least!

Ya I haven't got mine either, and I was complete on the first day.

Scheduled my interview on Oct 14th.

I had the chance to schedule it either on the 6th of Sept or the 7th of Oct (and other earlier dates I can't remember), but couldn't book either date due to conflict with work-related commitments. I hope I didn't shoot myself in the foot for turning down earlier interviews.

Come interview on Sept 6 with me!

I think you'll still be in really good shape.

Just got the ii call, will be interviewing on Sept 13.

Interview invite today! Will be there September 9th!

Just got the complete email today hoping to hear from them soon! Congrats on everyone's interviews- good luck! And please post what your experience was like when the time comes 🙂

Can anyone shed light on what kinds of questions they ask at the interview? And the ratio of interviews to acceptances?

I cannot tell you exactly what the interview to acceptance rate is, but I think it is close to 1:10. It is an excellent school and I am highly impressed with the environment. Congrats on everyones interview invites. As for the type of questions they ask? You can expect some questions regarding why you want Osteopathic medicine, be prepared to explain your interest. Also, why do you want medicine? How do you let steam off? What do you like to do for fun? Tell us about yourself? Do you feel you will have issues adapting to the small town life? How do you feel about OPP? (if the OPP question is foreign to you, then you have some research to do before you leave for your interview) and more. The questions certainly won't be in that order and these are the questions I received during my interview. There will certainly be other questions that are different depending on your interviewer. Most important, during your interview, make sure you are yourself. They will judge your ability to succeed in this school off of who you are. If you pretend you are someone else to get in, then you will struggle as you go through med school. Medical SCHOOL IS NOT EASY!!! I know that sounds stupid and obvious, but the time commitment is truly unfathomable until you actually start. Keep your spirits high, have fun at the interview, talk to everyone regardless of their role in the interview process, you never know who they will ask about you. Good luck and smile. Everyone likes a happy person.

was this a typo?

was this a typo?
That would be a LOT of folks interviewing.

I'd imagine that most schools are in the 30-40-50% range as they wouldn't have the resources to interview 1,000's of people.

was this a typo?

Yes it had to be. I don't know the exact numbers either, but if you interview before December it seems like there is a greater than 50% chance of getting in. Although I have no way to know for sure because the people who get waitlisted often stop posting on the forum.

But relax, LMU-DCOM was the most laid back interview of all the schools I interviewed at. Good Luck!

Any Obamacare type questions?

I didn't get any, but that was 2 years ago when I interviewed. Nobody really fully understands obamacare anyways, so whatever you answer when it comes to "controversial questions", form an opinion, have a logical reason for your decision, and stick to it. They are controversial for a reason but as long as you can express why you feel a certain way you should be fine.

was this a typo?

Oh haha, yeah sorry. I meant to type 3:10. I have been studying way too long. I had 10 people at my morning interview and 3 of us were accepted. There were an additional 12 people in the afternoon interview and I know 4 of them were accepted, maybe more. However my friends interview only had himself who was accepted. I do not know how many were in his interview though. Good luck with your interviews.

I didn't get any Obama questions, but they are out there.

Just another quick note: the people accepted I mentioned, above are just the people I recognize, more could have been accepted that rejected acceptance and /or I don't recognize the faces of others that were in my interview group.

Historically, based on the Osteopathic Info Book for applicants over the years, you've got about a 50:50 shot across the season of being accepted following an interview. However, that's an average. If you interview early your chances are astronomically higher given that DCOM has rolling admissions.

Congrats to all receiving interview invites! It'll be here before you know it. There are far better things to stress out about than the interview at DCOM. It's unbelievably laid back. Just don't be up tight or stressed out (i.e. be conversational and a pleasure to talk with) and you'll do fine.

I was wondering if any OMS-III or OMS-IV could comment on the rotation sites and the hospital affiliations of LMU. I have yet to read a single negative thing about the school, and I love the school's professional, yet warm attitude toward applicants and their family-friendly approach. However, I'm wondering if the school possess solid clinical affiliations, especially that (from what I've been told) they have experiened a boost in number of seats over the past few years.

Does anyone know this school's policy on sending in additional letters of recommendation? (In addition to those they explicitly require)

I don't know their policy, but I sent 6 and I don't think it was a problem. They probably just look at the ones you mentioned on your application.
