I have an unusual situation, I applied to Ross last year but on my way to my interview they cancelled it and said I wouldn’t get in which put a sour taste in my mouth. I actually went to a different school for 6 months that was unaccredited and felt as though I was getting screwed out of a good education from them so I’m trying to apply to US schools new. I have low stats because I was battling an undiagnosed learning disability in undergrad so my story is a rollercoaster that I’m still on!

Oh my god that’s so rude of Ross? That’s truly awful. What school did you go to that was unaccredited? I got accepted to an unaccredited school and I went to visit it and hated it

Yup I went to see it and I didn’t like it at all. I found the island to be very nice but the school I felt wasn’t enough for me if that makes sense.

The island is beautiful, they have a lot of administration problems that they need to fix. Basically if you’re struggling in school they will pretend they are helping you but ultimately take all your money and tell you you’re just not fit for the program

Im sorry to hear that. I’m still in the process of applying but I haven’t had any terrible experience with them yet. My GRE wasn’t great but I only applied to LIU after being declined from Virginia-Maryland

And people that were accepted already I believe don’t even have to take it (it wouldn’t make sense for them to post acceptance anyway). I get that they didn’t have the contract for it yet but then why not wait so that everyone can take it? I don’t see the point in accepting people early if everyone else has to wait until the 26th.

I really believe they're going to send out all the acceptances way before the 26th and the rejections on the 26th
 
I got an email congratulating me on being accepted and telling me how to pay the deposit through the MyLIU account. This was before I had taken the CASPer. I emailed and asked if I still needed to take it and they said all interviewed and accepted students had to take the CASPer.
 
That pretty much means the CASper doesn't really mean anything at all

That's what I'm assuming at least. We both interviewed on the 8th which is a month ago. They've been accepting people, I really don't know why we haven't heard anything back yet. I obviously hope we're not, but I just don't want to have false hope since its been so long already

I also interviewed on the 8th however I don’t think this means anything bad yet just because they gave people the option to take the CASPer yesterday and the 18th. So they’re probably waiting on the results of that to come in first for people they didn’t make decisions on yet.

They told me that they were sending out another round at the end of last week and they MIGHT send out one more round. They also asked for my final transcripts in May but haven’t offered me and interview or anything so I’m wondering why they are wanting my final transcripts then

You should ask them
 
I got an email from CASPer saying that scores will be made available approximately 3 weeks after our test date. Wouldnt that be pushing past the March 26th decision deadline LIU set? This is of course for people like myself that took the test yesterday. What’s going to happen to people that are taking it on the 18th? Does this mean it’s not being used in decisions? I’m so confused lol

I interviewed on the 29th and got accepted on 3rd before I took the CASPer. I have a feeling it has something to do with orientation or advisor groups?
 
How many people have they accepted so far?
Just trying to get an idea for how many positions they have offered since they're only accepting 100.
They also said on their FAQ that they are going to have a waitlist so if we interviewed already and haven't heard a decision yet, we could be waitlisted instead of rejected.
 
I just don’t think it’s fair that I interviewed a month ago, and people who interviewed 02/29 are hearing back. If it’s going to be a no, id like to know sooner rather than later
 
Same with me, they want my final transcripts but aren't willing to tell me if I am even going to be offered an interview. I would 100% immediately send in a seat deposit right away with every intention of attending in the fall and I wish I could tell them that!!

Its really frustrating at this point. I emailed them asking if I was rejected because I haven't heard anything in over a month now since the interview and just keep saying to wait until the 27th. Why do we have to wait until the 27th if other people are finding out a few days after their interview. There was no benefit in applying early compared to applying in January. Why are we even taking the casper if they're accepting people who haven't taken it. They could have already accepted 90 already. I highly doubt they're sending any acceptances at all on the 27th.

they might have sent out some acceptances and are waiting to see how many send deposits before sending out more offers. that's also probably how they make their waitlist, I know a bunch of other vet schools do it that too
 
Has anyone heard anything else? Still no word from them for me. Assuming I’m denied at this point so I’m just kind of letting it go
 
I don’t think it’s over yet, so don’t any one give up hope. I wholeheartedly agree with the comment above about not sending out acceptances/interviews until they get the answers/deposits from those already accepted.

I can say for a fact the school has been all over me wanting me to accept and give my deposit (like five acceptances letters mailed, a financial aid offer, a handmade note, and two personal phone calls). I am waiting on one more school before I choose but I think they don’t want to do what Western did and over accept so they’re keeping people in suspense.

I've gotten the same things too, I'm just waiting to hear back with financial aid packages.
 
I heard LIU is closed due to the coronavirus .. I wonder if they’ll still have interviews on the 14th...

I looked it up and it said starting March 16th they’re transitioning to online classes through the 27th. So it’s possible they will still do interviews! Hopefully we also get decisions sent out

LIU is actually going online for the remainder of the semester. I have a really good friend who goes there and she just updated me 🙂

How have you guys prepared for the interview / did you feel thrown off during it?? I know we can’t ask specifics but I have an interview at 1pm and kind of nervous based on the style of interview they described! Thank you

Some questions made you think, but they were all reasonable and deff able to be answered. It helps that you get 3 minutes to think about it before discussing the question. Just stay relaxed, i was a lot less nervous considering it was an online interview. Good luck!
