We're interpreting Finn's green color to mean villager, right?
Yeah. Role name was villager Troll in the write-up, so I sure hope so!

But I miss the questions! And the write-up didn't say what Finn's ability was, so maybe it wasn't an upgrade.

I'm wondering if the stone thing is defensive. What if there were two attacks last night?
'twas a joke. Finn dies early a lot, last game was a bit of an exception. So despite it maybe being a bit of a mercy killing, still kind of a lame n1 kill imo.

I feel like kdubs put a lot of failed attacks in the write-ups during HP, not sure if I jive with the stone being defensive yet.

Anyway if someone was turned to stone, that sounds like Medusa.
Does mythical creatures = magical creatures? I was thinking more along the lines of classic fairytales, but Medusa would bring mythology into the mix.

Maybe it's some sort of blocking move? We can see if someone doesn't check in today. If it is some sort of block, hopefully they'll be able to come in thread tomorrow and say what they had in their night results when it happened.

So, no wolf kill, but a villager assassin took out our bridge troll Finn?

And someone else was turned to stone? (Gorgon or basalisk or...) So, do we have a new silent person today or what are the effects of being made stone? And, would it be a wolfy move or a protecting one?
Looks like a wolf kill to me from the write up.

I'm going to lynch MQ to get a vote on the board.

Nothing major, but looking back I don't love her vote for Finn after Finn said some things on thread that hinted she knew specific details about the formatting of the village role PM.

Should be interesting to see who the wolves are, killing finn on N1. Finn usually gets killed or lynched super early. Did that change last game (I didn't play)?

I agree that it sounds like a gorgon/medusa. Not the basilisk though. Do you think turning to stone is reversible?

How much would it suck to have a game where turning to stone wasn't reversible? If it's like an extra kill, I suppose it wouldn't be. If it's a block, I would think there would have to be a reversal mechanism or time limit on it.

Why not a basilisk? They turn things to stone too.

If it isn't a death, I would think it is reversible

Has someone in BBC's group chatted her up? I hope she's not incapable of posting on the thread for the whole game.
BBC liked this, so @LadyOtheFarm, @PrincessButterCup, @allyphoe... anything?

Would be nice for everyone who checks in to post, just to more quickly pare down whether we have a silencing in play or not.

This is why I think it's a block. If it were an extra kill, or they were in this state permanately unless someone specific/some item could fix them, I feel like their name would have been in the write up?

Nevermind. I read the wiki.
I don't remember what it was from, but there was a legend where the indirect glare of a basilisk would freeze you instead of kill you. There was debate as to whether that meant coma or since the reference compared that to "the Gorgon's glare"... anyway, indirect looks have been used as turning to stone, but that might be something I only ran into studying mythology for years... So we'll stick with current wiki interpretations.

I count 8 people who haven't checked in yet today: Ally, STL, hayley, gwen, DVMD, Dy, cray, and ceke.

I am not silenced, just have had a jam-packed day so far. Nothing happened to me last night, so I don't have any more information today than yesterday. Will come back to re-read with more care and get a vote in later.

I was googling to see if basilisk could turn to stone but didn't see it so if so my mistake. I was just skimming because I shouldn't have been interneting when I was

Someone didn't read or watch Harry Potter 😛

Oh I did both of those things but I didn't know if a basilisk could turn people to stone in other mythology. I was thinking like grey stone... Not petrified like in HP.

I'm hoping for a cockatrice!

And I think I'm going to lynch Ally for now.

Seeming a little less talkative than the beginning of the last game, although I accept that could be due to the theme/life busyness. Otherwise, just not a huge fan of that throwaway vote on Cray yesterday and would like to hear more from her in general.

Super busyness, but more the timing of of busy combined with the timing of other people's activity. The first couple days of last game, I happened to be around early in the day, and could be on the leading edge of the baseless speculation. Yesterday, by the time I could actually sit down and read, the baseless speculation had already run through multiple people, and the nitpicking had already been done.

Ally has talked here and in pm now.
Dy was questioning continuing to play?
Crayola seems to not come check out the game thread until late in the day.
Ceke is hopefully asleep right now.
The others also seem to come on as their schedule allows, but do normally check in before too late.

Dy is having a ****tastic day at work. All the usual caveats apply (I don't know if she's villager or wolf, busy people can be busy wolves as much as busy villagers, I'm not vouching for her, blah blah blah blah).

But I suspect that if she is still in the game, that's why we haven't heard from her.

I was on my flight , just landed in Cali. So this is me checking in and trying to catch up.

I still like my PBC vote from yesterday unless anyone wants to verify that she "helped" them ? (Whatever that would entail?)

Lynch PBC open to change, but this is still my gut feeling.

Lynch Crayola. I know she had a different sleeping schedule but she's been more verbose in the last two games. So just seems off that she isn't posting as much. I'll try to check in later but no guarantees with work.

I am having a hard time deciding who to lynch today.
I'm leaning towards Crayola because I don't know if her absence is wolfy or just her weird schedule. But I feel like I won't get much of a defense out of her, so I don't know if it's worth voting that way to start. I may end up there.

But I think I'll start with lynch Jilary to add pressure to LIS's vote.

I could also vote Trilt, because I think she was wrong about PBC and I think she's also wrong about Ally, which is starting to make me wonder if it's purposefully misleading. Or maybe I'm just always wary of Trilt. 😉

All you people who out me as a wolf and then you're leery of me afterwards. I just don't get it. (Right, @Teepster87 ?)

But I'm curious about why you think I'm wrong about Ally. Statistically - you're probably right, and I'm not particularly attached to that vote. But she hasn't said anything particularly compelling either way this game, imo, and that kind of pings my radar as a weird thing to say.

(I've given up re: PBC. Have thoroughly tunneled, will know whether I'm correct or wrong only when she's dead).

I didn't like any of the other choices, as they are people that typically die early game and I felt like cutting them some slack.

MJ, not sure this justifies your vote for AM. AM was killed very early in JDH's game (which I'm not sure you played or followed) and it was sad.

I am having a hard time deciding who to lynch today.

Nah guys, I'm around. I woke and posted earlier around 4 or 5 am PST and went back to sleep. Didn't expect to get up at 2 pm PST but it is what it is.

I defended my quiet-ness in today's earlier post and last game. Quieter towards start with more to say going forward. I came off noisier in JDH's game because one of the first few lynches was Pluto and he had my same villager role in that game so I had good intel and was pissed at the lynch just cuz people find him annoying.

As far as my new location, let's just say I have no idea how I got here. Not my doing. Maybe this means I can PM with those people for intel. I'm going to open a PM group with them with the mods in it and the mods can tell me how they feel about all that.

Looking over yesterday's votes, why did so many people initially bandwagon on BBC? I can see why people switched to PBC.

lynch PBC

I may regret this since they claim to be a villager magic creature with useful powers. However, I don't have a better suspect. People (I think mostly Trilt from yesterday's notes I took) say that they are usually a bad villager, that they like to be converted wolf, will ask to be, and just generally do things that hurt the village.

I've learned that yes, you always try to catch wolves, but if you can't get a wolf removing certain villagers can be good for the village too.
I don't know what else to think but someone who can't be trusted to act village....

Yeah, I can see that. But it's not weird for the reason you think it's weird (if you're village). There are many reasons for things to be weird, and cryptic, and not all of them are bad.

Quoting you was supposed to be in my above post but is too big an edit to add to it so here it is. Read above post.

Of course, with this Trilt suspicion going around right now, I wonder if this is Trilt being wolfy and trying to get us to bandwagon someone with useful powers.

I don't entirely buy that wolves are quiet to justify lynching, but maybe that's so. I would think that a smart wolf would be smart enough not to rely on doing that and would post quite a bit trying to appear to be a source of good intel. In fact, a wolf did that to me last JDH game.

This was sort of a nothing response, but sure.

Now I think we're just down to STL, Ceke and Dy not having said anything yet.

No, I don't think that was the reasoning. PBC admittedly prefers being a wolf or chaos to being a villager, but I don't think villager PBC (other than the time she self-converted) would purposely hurt the village.

My reasoning for voting for her is that I don't buy her ability as being legit and I don't buy it being something she's excited about.
