Hello everyone!

I pre-matched at the three schools mentioned above, and I'm having a REALLY hard time deciding between them. They're all great schools, and I'm trying to weigh out the pros and cons.

Is the scholarship for tuition or COA? Either way if I was in your shoes I'd go with El Paso. But take that with a grain of salt because I know next to nothing about the Texas schools

I actually think McGovern >> all of the others hands down. Tuition in TX is very manageable so I wouldn't take the scholarship as seriously as I would for non Texans at a new school like EP. TAMU is weird because you have to separate from your class for clinical rotations, medical school is in middle of nowhere. McGovern is in the TMC.

I do not know much about texas, but I know that the tuition is pretty negligible. McGovern sounds like the best school, but if it will not be a good fit for your family/3 dogs it may not be the right school for you

Personally, I think the cheapest school hands down. Your future self will thank you. However, it all depends if your SO can find work and doesn't get homesick if she's from the DFW etc

I would choose McGovern, but they didn't want me. There's a lot of research there.

How do you go about getting a full tuition scholarship?

I would take the full scholarship without thought. You're going to medical school for free. Even though the location might not be appealing, it still will be a very unique experience. You will go into residency with 0 debt!! That's amazing considering you don't get paid too much for at least 3-4 years.

It pays for the $15/year tuition - not living expenses.

Go where you will be happy.

El Paso. Low cost (!!!!!!!), students there are uber chill, weather is fairly mild, and a ton to do if you're outdoorsy. El Paso is way out there, but it's actually a very big city with a diverse economy, and west side has a ton of fun stuff.
