Michigan State University c/o 2024

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I can't say any of them went particularly poorly, but there were at least a couple that make me cringe a little thinking back.
Feeling like things didn’t go too well doesn’t always mean they didn’t! I accidentally insulted my interviewers when I interviewed at Penn and couldn’t stop thinking about it. I even emailed them after and apologized (learned later that decisions had already been made at that point). And they still let me in!

Does anyone know when we should be hearing for out of state?

OOS rejection today. I’m a little surprised about this one, I have a fairly diverse application & only have a low GPA, which everyone has says MSU doesn’t care about so long as you’re above their minimum. Oh well, hope everyone else does well!

I just received this email...

"We are still evaluating applications for non-Michigan residents and will be doing so through the beginning of January. Interviews for non-Michigan residents will be conducted in January and February. Invitations for non-Michigan residents will go out starting in December and early January.

We had a 41.2% increase in applications in 2018 and another 13% increase this year. Please have patience as we complete the careful evaluation of all applications.

We will not reply to any individual requests for application status as this takes time away from our application evaluations which means a delay in interview invitations. You can assume that your application is still under review."

Hoping to hear something soon.

Again, thank you for your patience."

The wait continues lol

Just saw an email for rejection, OOS. Still have a few more schools to hear back from.

Got the email that says they are still reviewing. The waiting is so hard!

I submitted pretty late so that's possibly why they haven't gotten to mine yet? For those of you who have gotten the "still under review" email did you also submit late?

The timing of your submission doesn't have anything to do with it, promise! (speaking from prior experience as an OOS applicant last year)

I know the wait sucks, but it will be worth it! Just enjoy the holidays and put it out of your mind for now. Stay busy!

In state students won't know their admission status until the week of 1/13/20, if that helps anyone.

I’m in southeast Georgia (basically Florida). Hoping to interview 1/24... and feeling concerned about what to wear to stay warm...

Would love to split a room but I’m a hardcore morning person and naturally wake at 5am-ish
Same im up at dawn but thats the date I put as my secondary for UF.
