I wonder why they completed you almost a whole week before me. Strange!
 
The people who were offered interviews, was it in the message section on the portal?
 
So I read some of last year's thread and it seems like this is a 1 day thing that starts at 745 and ends in the early afternoon.

When you first log in to the portal there is a little link to the left that says something like "Interviews" or "Schedule Interview"

In the very center of my screen was "Schedule Your Interview"

What time are you scheduling your return flight? I don't want to schedule it too early, but I don't want to have to stay another night either.

Probably going to wait until I hear from western to book a flight, was hoping to do both schools on the same trip. Can't wait to check out the desert...I may melt though

Good to know. Is it a group thing or do they have one on one interviews? Getting kind of nervous just thinking about it. Lol
 
It's a panel interview with 2-3 staff members and you I believe

Ah that's a good point... I'm just so excited I don't think I can wait.
 
Just checked some tickets.. PHX to LAX is more expensive than STL to LAX. Might as well get this AZCOM one over with asap.
 
Plus renting a car at <25 years old sucks..

I was looking at flights around 4 but I'm going to talk to the school before I book anything.

Man, everyone with interviews have >30 MCATs. I don't think this is a coincidence lol This makes me nervous :scared:
 
Its only the first day they sent them out, there is still plenty of time for us to get them 🙂

I think most schools do this. Certain stats will float to the top of the pile. They want to give interviews to people with outstanding stats early and try and lasso them in. I'm sure they'll do another wave of interviews soon 🙂

Hey I also scheduled for the 9/14 interview too, congrats!

any current medical students have any advice as to what to expect at the interview? any tips or help would be appreciated

Looks like interviews go from about 7:30 or so until 2 or 3 at the latest. I'm getting a ticket to leave at 5 that day, the admissions office said that should be fine. Just FYI

HAHA I got the same email too. The LOR's were holding me up too. It's frustrating because you can't do anything about it!

It seems like last year they sent their first round of invites over two days... Maybe we'll see some more I.I.s today! Congrats all of you interviewers...AZCOM is awesome, it has a great reputation, great resources and I absolutely love it's personality. I interviewed late last year and was placed on the alternate list. The interview last year consisted of a panel of two faculty and one current med student. My interview group was super nice and laid back, we started with why azcom, why osteopathic medicine and finished talking about wine lol.

I've got my fingers crossed for another invite soon... 3.2cGPA, 3.09 sGPA, 3.87 postbacscienceGPA, 3.65gGPA MCAT 34(14b8v12p) complete email 7/17

How do you guys know which day your application was officially complete? Did they send you all an email? My portal says complete but never received an email from them but I sort of just submitted their secondary because i had access to it via ccom. Did anyone actually receive an email from AZCOM stating your application is complete.

I did for both CCOM and AZCOM.
 
I checked this thread and saw the interview invites, so I went to check the status of my application and it said they had not received my letters. A bit concerned, I checked Interfolio, and I never sent them 😱!!!!!

I am so mad at myself for letting this slip past my mind.

Oh well.

Congrats to those who got interview offers.

I never did from AZCOM so I sent the admissions office an email, they said that it is not uncommon for people to not get emails from them, so keep checking your portal. If everything is checked off, then your app is complete and set in the pile to be reviewed 🙂

Im starting to believe that rumor that AZCOM only accepts those with MCAT of 27+. I went on mdapps and couldn't find anyone with less than a 27 mcat who stated they even received an acceptance (small sample size but still). I guess no love for the high gpa low mcat ppl. Good luck to you guys with interviews.

Good luck to you too! I called the office of admissions and asked about my MCAT score (24) and she said no one got in with less than a 27. I told her I had a really good GPA (3.78) and she told me I still needed to retake. She wasn't anyone specific so I don't know how credible this is, but if the school's average is 28, they have to let people in with a <27.. Or I'd like to think anyways. Dr.Willy did confirm though that they are trying to push their average MCAT up though... idk, we will see. :luck:

Is the info about 27 MCAT Average the most update info? I have noticed that many of the school's don't update their website.

So there must be a lot of 27's (and some outliers w/ <27 not being mentioned) accepted to bring the class average to 28 I'm thinking.... Assuming there are more than like a ton of >30 scores in the class.. hmmm
 
Somebody called me a troll on this thread for even bringing the <27 thing up in the first place.
 
Just checked my portal, AZCOM sent out another round of interview invites. Scheduled mine for 9/13. 😀😀😀😀

I was marked complete as of 7/13.
 
Interview invite!!!! First one. For anyone who might want to know: I was complete at Midwestern on 7/18. cGPA 3.4, sGPA 3.3 and MCAT of 28.

No. It updates on the website that you used to schedule it though. I didn't even get an email telling me I was invited to interview.
