Yup, I do it while I'm checking SDN in the morning. We probably won't see anything for another week though 🙁.

They told us that the adcom meeting isn't even on the calendar yet. Our admissions person speculated that they'll meet end of September/beginning of October and we will find out really soon after they meet.

Ah, that lines up with what they said about hearing back within 2-3 weeks. Still, I can't wait that long..

I feel like our interview was a reaaaally long time ago, even though it's been less than a week. It makes me way less patient!

Hold letter in the mail yesterday... bummer. I was definitely hoping for this school as it's 1-a great school, 2-closer to home than most DO schools, and 3-NO SNOW!!!

Anyone ever even hear of a student getting an II after one of these hold letters?

It does. They told us they're evaluating all of the first round of interviews at once around that time. At least we know now! Thank you 🙂

Think about MD committees that are assessing before they tell the applicants on October 15th. THAT is a lot.

There's the 13th-14th + 17th-21st dates. Our day was weird in that we had 17 people. I'm assuming the rest had 18. That means that when the adcom meets, they're going to be looking at a total of 125 applicants.. Are they even going to remember those from the 13th? Maybe it's not so advantageous to interview on the earliest date after all 🙄

We were given a paper folder type thing full of info papers and all. I just used that and it was sufficient. You could bring a folder too if you wanted, but I personally don't think it's really needed.

They give you a folder. You also spend a huge portion of the day in this lounge area so you don't need to haul your stuff everywhere. And I think everyone in that batch will hear at the same time regarding acceptances.

Yeah seriously. I guess the advantage of interviewing earlier is that the interviewers are fresh and probably more perceptive to what you say. Later on in the cycle, they've probably heard it all, and it's harder to impress them. Idk..

They give you folder (nothing fancy) with their handouts. There isn't any extra paper or a pen or anything though.

I drove also, but I know that you can ask the admissions staff behind the desk when you check in to hold your bags if you need them to.

It depends on your group. They break you into 2 groups. One goes earlier and one goes later.

Everyone's done by noon. You're either in the 9:00 - 10:30 interview group or the 10:30 - 12:00 group.

it was a panel interview format. there were three interviewers and one was hilarious at how s/he was trying to throw you off and kept giving you some ethics question and trying to counter my answer, but really it was no biggies. the day started with some introduction by the clinical director of the school (Shuman?) he explained in detail what we are suppose to expect each year of the med school and what they do and how they do things. he also went over board score and etc... and how they are above median for both allo and osteo. bunch of us later talked about how it seems like all the schools have board score that are above average and wondered where all the schools were that scored below the average 🙂

we split into two groups and one group interviewed while the other group went on a tour. i already did a tour before so nothing was new, but i still think the campus kinda rocks. the heat was slightly bearable (100) than it was in the middle of the summer (108). after that we went to the cafeteria and ate lunch with the $8 coupon. don't worry, everything was pretty cheap at the cafeteria. 8 dollars was more than enough for a lunch.

the vibe of the student body was pretty nice, they seemed friendly but then again, i don't have anything to compare to.

any other question, feel free to pvt me... i don't want to reveal too much so i can remain anonymous.

Also, for those who have already interviewed, any tips on how to locate the Barrel 1 building on campus? What was the parking situation like?

If you're using the 101 loop heading west, exit on 59th Ave (exit 19) and make a left. Make another left on Utopia (it's like the 2nd light). You make another left at the first pocket into the parking lot/campus. Theres a kiosk there. Tell the guy you're interviewing and he'll tell you to make a right and then a left. There are signs that point you to Barrel 1, it's pretty straightforward. And the Admissions Office building is RIGHT there so you can't miss it. I recommend checking it out the day before. At least so you know how to get to the kiosk. Oh, and parking was very easy to find. I got a spot in front of the building haha.

The parking lot is gated so when you enter you give them your name and tell them you're interviewing and they tell you how to locate the building

Thanks! Can you clarify something for me. I am assuming The Admissions Office building and the Barrel 1 building are separate buildings so which one of these two do we go to??
