wow I'm suprised! In last years thread majority of the waitlisted were below 30! And they didn't interview below 30 until Spring. I guess they're increasing their standards! Hopefully they still give us a chance!

Similar stats and I got waitlisted for the II too. Oh well, I got an II from another school about an hour later! I'm stoked!

a lot of activity here. going to send my secondary application today. a little late..but sending secondaries to west coast schools last (on east coast)

My cGPA is on the lower end though… I think I have a great application though.

Got put on hold for interview 🙁 should've known, GPA was 3.8 but MCAT was 27. Good luck to everyone else!!!!

Wow.... out of all the rejections.. yours makes the least sense.

AZCOM is gunning for the 29 MCAT. Oh well, you should be getting II's at like every other DO school pretty much lol.

Of the people who get interviews, anyone know how many actually make it through to acceptance for this school?

O and II. 3.21c/3.76s/32 (I experimented with a lot of strange courses outside of science)

This is what I found... but it probably doesn't mean anything because of how old it is:

Well, during my interview there, the general understanding among interviewees seemed to be an acceptance rate of somewhere around 70% of those that were granted interviews. As you've probably picked up from several posts on SDN the interview is semi-blind, meaning that if you're asked for an interview "they" feel that you're solid on paper and the next move is to delve a bit deeper, revealing what exists beyond the numbers. Of the five D.O. interviews that I attended, I would say that AZCOM's interview was definitely the most intense, in the sense that the interviewers intently focused on each word that I said and took the interview very serious. Yet in a very non-intimidating way, the panel made the interview experience feel more like a discussion among colleagues rather than a mind twisting interrogation. My interview experience was unreal...I left the interview just psyched. After that interview AZCOM was at the very top of my list. Good luck with the interview...if you have any other questions feel free to PM me.

AZCOM Class of 2009!!!!

For those of you who rented a car, were you required to purchase insurance as well?

Just got my interview invite today. Scheduled for 9/21 (seems a little late but maybe because I'm OOS). I'm surprised I was offered an interview for AZCOM before CCOM since I'm instate for CCOM.

3.7/3.68/29 with a lot of clinical, research and shadowing experience

I applied to both as well. AZCOM gave me a II less than a week after completing my secondary. Their admissions office might just be much further ahead of the game than their colleagues in Chicago. CCOM does get more apps, so maybe that's the story. Also, It was my impression that these schools do not tend to favor residents from anywhere in particular, but rather have more matriculated locally because more local applicants are applying. Does anyone know if this is true?

AZCOM has less in state bias compared to the sister school CCOM. Entering class of 2014 had %75.1 OOS students for AZCOM compared to %40.3 OOS students for CCOM.

II this morning! First one for me so far!!! Complete 8/12, picked a late September date. MCAT 27-29 (I have multiple), GPA 3.6, pretty strong EC's/work experiences

Very nice.

You got an interview three days after your secondary was complete??

I've been complete for almost a month and haven't heard anything, you're very lucky 🙂

Its all totally random. Like My application at ATSU Kirksville was complete in JUNE, but there are people who were complete just a few days ago who have gotten II's.

I'm not buying into the whole "rolling admissions" thing super hard atm.

Yeah I was complete late June and I emailed them 2 weeks ago when I did not hear anything back and they said I had been wait listed for an interview.

Which school told you this? AZCOM?

I think they just have a really hard cut off for the MCAT. Let me guess you have a 28 MCAT?

Like there are a good amount of applicants in here who have either been waitlisted or rejected that would probably be shoe ins for DO schools statwise, but AZCOM places a huge emphasis on MCAT.

Yeah. I'm just going to seat it out and wait. It's just annoying not knowing.

Idk, they gave me an II and my MCAT scores are all over the place, (with the last score actually going down and below a 29)...

Who knows what process these schools use to pick people?!

I can almost guaranteed you that people with 27-28 MCAT are not getting rejected or waitlisted at this school. It's more likely that their applications are being put on the backburner until Jan of 2016.

Yea I dont know guys, I'm just speculating

Does anyone knows how long the interview is? AZCOM's email says that it should end by 230pm, is that accurate?

Anyone waited >2 weeks for an II/Waitlist? I was complete 7/31 and haven't heard a peep since...

I got an e-mail saying I was complete June 30th. No word since...

not sure if this has been answered, but does anyone know if this is an open file interview?

Last time I talked to a friend of mine who is MS-II, they told me it was a closed file.

By closed file, does it mean that they don't know anything about you? or does it just mean they don't know your stats like GPA and MCAT?

Since AZCOM and CCOM are both Midwestern do you think they can view the secondary applications for each other? I wrote my
I used the same exact essays for both schools and just changed names accordingly. Ironically, I wrote my secondaries tailored to CCOM but was accepted to AZCOM and waitlisted to CCOM XD.

Since AZCOM and CCOM are both Midwestern do you think they can view the secondary applications for each other? I'm thinking about doing the same thing.

Each school has their own staff that looks at secondaries, so you can copy paste them and submit them with no issues.

Do AZCOM and CCOM both require the AACOMAS ID on the front page of LORs?
