+1 OOS Interview waitlist today as well. Does anyone know what the chances are of getting off the waitlist? Or should I consider this a soft R?

Just received IS II today, but minutes after I received the email, only one interview date was available to sign up for, and when I clicked on it, it said "Registration is no longer available because the registration capacity has been exceeded." Anyone else having this problem? No other dates are offered in my application portal.

me too

This school is weird! I wonder what it means for the people who received the "fast track" interview. I never had the option to go into their portal or schedule the interview myself yet.

Update: they just added a whole bunch of virtual interview dates to sign up for. No more in-person for now though.

I know! they were very vague about our fast track approach in the info session. They almost made it sound like we're pretty much automatically in

Third year here at AZCOM! Let me know if there are any questions I can answer for you guys. :) Good luck to everyone!

I have my deans talk and faculty chat tomorrow. For those who have done it already, is the deans talk a Q and A with other applicants? How was the faculty chat? What should I expect?

The dean's talk is just the dean talking about the school for 30 min with however many applicants signed up for the specific session. You can ask questions but in my session no one did. Idk what the faculty chat is, I just had the one 30 min meeting. After the meeting they'll schedule a phone call interview that's 15 min long.

Has anyone here received interviews that are not “fast track?” I want to know how they are handling normal interviews

Anyone booking an in-person interview? The first virtual date is Sept. 10, but the next in-person date is Oct. 21. Should I interview earlier even though it's virtual?

Fast track interviewers - anybody know when we should hear back?

During the Dean’s Talk today they stated they were hoping to get back to us with decisions by the end of next week.

Hi! I was wondering if you could speak about any unique opportunities that are offered at AZCOM? Also what is the community engagement and volunteering looking like? How is it getting involved in research? And is there a lot of bonding between students on campus?

Does anyone know if you get an interview invite at AZCOM if you can still get one at CCOM? I know they are both under Midwestern but I am not sure does that mean that you can only interview at one campus then like how it is for NYITCOM?

Got an II today and doesn't say anything about 'fast track.' Consists of a zoom or in person session - Your interview day will consist of a Welcome from the Dean, individual interview, Q&A session with current students, and presentations from the faculty

Out of curiosity, has anybody who did fast track been waitlisted, rejected, or not heard anything as of now?

Hey everyone! OMS-1 here at AZCOM who did the masters program as well. Just wanted to let you all know AZCOM added people to their class a few weeks prior to orientation, and the year before that they added people the WEEK of orientation. I wouldn’t be too worried about the holds, it’s a good sign you’re on their radar right now. Especially if you’re somewhere around their MCAT average (though, I know off the top of my head 10 people here with around 495’s…) if anyone has questions about the process you can message me!

So sorry to have missed this. I'm on rotations and my free time is really hit or miss these days.

I would answer the first several questions with the same thing. AZCOM has a club called H.O.M.E. which runs free clinics out of homeless shelters. Students are welcome to get involved even in first year as clinic coordinators. In fact, everyone is required to attend at least one event for H.O.M.E. in the second year. We have a ton of clubs of a variety of interests, most of which do some sort of volunteering at some point during the year. Unfortunately, there is no student run clinics outside of the H.O.M.E. events.

Another great unique thing about AZCOM is how many other health professional programs we have. We have around 27 different health programs on campus, all of them post-graduate. Getting to chat with students from other professions is really enlightening and I learned about whole areas that I was unaware of previously just because they happened to exist here.

Getting involved in research is mainly up to your own ambition. Many of the instructors on campus have research and they encourage you to reach out if you're interested in their area of research. But it really is a you-lead effort to get into something.

As for student bonding, that is a definite yes, at least in my experience with my class. We all get along well. We had many class events during the first two years, including a Med Gala to celebrate the end of 2nd year. Everyone is friendly and outgoing. They do have class ranking, but it is only released after the end of each year. There's no curving of tests. So really there's no incentive to bring each other down. Instead, we're all pretty supportive of each other.

What's your take on the exams? I've heard they can be pretty stressful just due to the volume of them.

Yah, I won't lie. The exam schedule is stressful, especially at first. You will have an average of 2 exams per week. Sometimes you'll get lucky and have only 1. Sometimes you'll be unlucky and have 3. It was one of the factors that I had on my con list when considering AZCOM.

However, after the first quarter or so, I really came around to the testing schedule. Other schools, you may only have one or two tests per block. Here, most classes have 3-5 tests per quarter that decide your grade. So if you struggle in one area, you have the buffer of another couple exams to help you pick the grade up before the end of the quarter. Or you can be a little less stressed during finals week when you have 5 exams in 5 days, but you know you only really need a 30% on the final to pass the class.

You definitely need to stay on top of things. It can be challenging to get caught back up if you lag behind. But the exams are usually fair and they're very clear about where the content they are testing comes from. Additionally, many of our instructors are also question writers for COMLEX, so our exams are pretty true to boards content/style of questions.
