Changed my avatar. It looked really similar to krist's avatar and I didn't want to get anyone confused since I tend to look at avatars quite a bit.

Isn't neutering kitties fun?! 😀 Also be sure to check out C4CC next year - I did that 2-3 times this year and it's a lot of fun. Getting to actually get out there and do something that is actually helping and making a difference while practicing surgery techniques definitely helped keep me sane this year!

As for asking for election votes - I don't make empty promises 🙂P), but this is most likely my last WW game EVER! I start clinics in three weeks and then will disappear from the world for a year. I'd like be leader/mayor once before leaving the WW world 😀

Also, I may not be the most active today or tomorrow. I don't really know what's going to be happening with my grandma being the hospital/possibility of discharge and I will most certainly only have access on my phone, so I will check in! But I may not be the most active today and tomorrow pending circumstances 🙁

Wow last night was made of whiskey......just got back home a half hour ago..... yeah....

Wanted to catch up on this game first as it has started then I have to go check and see what all happened in GoT WW as it looked crazy from what I could tell on my phone.

I want the head person in my group so...

Also, for anyone who has never been to Edinburgh, there is a graveyard right near the coffee shop where JKR used to write. In there are a few notable graves, especially the following (sorry for the poor quality, it's the only one I have from a scavenger hunt at night)

Have to find a HP avatar and also have to find my head? anyone seen it?! The whiskey tasting was mad craic and then I went to my local pub after and drank some more because I felt that jack was feeling left out. And then I had to convince a lad I know at the pub that he should not shift me because he has a girlfriend and it is just not right - I will not allow it.

This is how I feel now....

Guys....one more reason to elect dyachei.... She didn't ASK to be elected. If we are lucky, she is a wolf, we investigate her the first night and find a wolf.

This is an old DocE strategy that we rarely use, always getting caught up in the free waffles and ponies etc. But electing someone who didn't ask is a good way to shine the spotlight on someone who doesn't want it.

And if we are wrong, Dyachei is pretty experienced.

Just my $0.02.

Why does she need to be elected to be investigated the first night? I agree that she didn't ask and had already thought about her potential to be a wolf. It would be a stupid move to elect a potential wolf as the leader just for the sole purpose to investigate first. When your suspicion can just be put out on the thread (like you did) and she can be investigated first without being elected. Especially since the leader usually gets the veto and why would you want the possible wolf to have the veto?

There are no suspicions yet, so you could say that we give a possible wolf a veto by voting for anyone. That doesn't really make sense either.

I think SOV meant that many times wolves don't ask to be leader. Leaders get investigated early on many times, so it just means a person that doesn't ask gets investigated pretty early in the game.

And if we get a wolf that way, we get the veto out of the way early in the game. What if a wolf becomes leader late in the game when there's about as many wolves as villagers. That veto could really hurt then..

True. But why not put the veto in the hand of someone that actually wants and therefore is most likely not a wolf? It just seems silly to give it to someone who MIGHT be a wolf just because they did not volunteer themselves just for investigation. Also, the last few games we have had the leader has not been investigated right away. You put the veto into a potential wolves hands early and then we have two waste 2 lynches cylces at the beginning of the game just to get rid of one player while the wolves get 2 kills at night. I agree that the veto rarely helps the villagers, if ever, by why start with it being unhelpful to the villagers?

A lot of the times the leader will be investigated early on.... but in some games they are never investigated (ummm... last game) :laugh: So I think sometimes you assume innocence of a person just because they were elected leader when it is not always the case. And yeah the veto can be a good and a bad thing - depending on who's hands it is in. It can save a good person like in last game, but most of the time I have seen it save a wolf.

1) the veto is a waste
2) early votes tend to kill innocent people so it is better to "waste" a vote early and gather more information, honestly lynching blind is a bad strategy for villagers. If we could forego every lynch until we have certain information, then we would do much better. Wasting a vote is a plus to me.
3) lately our leaders have had few powers, so why investigate them....personally I like when leaders actually mean something... so perhaps this may be moot.

Yes the veto is a waste.

No guarantees that whoever is elected will be investigated. So how do we gather more information? Can't we use your strategy, investigating those who didn't want to lead, without electing them?

We still have no clue what the leaders abilities will be. Do we want to give some possible good abilities to someone who may be a wolf?

I just don't think it is a smart idea.

I agree. If Packen didn't kill me last game and instead I was lynched, it could have potentially won the game for the wolves. To me, vetoes only help villagers early in the game when the (innocent) leader knows who the seer or angel is. Other than that, it is generally only a help to the wolves.

We wouldn't waste the votes as much as we usually do. Often times, villagers die in the first view lynches anyways (I know, we've had it differently, too), so this way we wouldn't kill a villager the first night (no innocents lost), but we would get a wolf the second night.

And you keep saying we're trying to give it to a possible wolf. Everyone is a possible wolf at this time!

And like Devyn said, sometimes they don't get investigated at all. So wolves could be asking to become leader in the hopes that they won't be investigated!

1) Stupid attempt if anyone is a wolf and tries to be leader in the "hopes they don't get investigated." I was really upset in the wworld game that I had put myself in the spot light to be a leader because I thought I could do some good and then that damn encyclopedia lied about who I was. It is not a wise idea as a wolf.

2) Your arguement fails when you use the only reason to elect someone who really didn't ask to be elected as leader so we can investigate them early and then state "well the last few games the leader hasn't been investigated early so wolves could be nominating themselves too."

3) I agree everyone is suspicious. But if you are suspicious about someone because they really did not vote for themselves to be leader why not do what akdream and I had thought in the vet school game and mention it on day 2 and get that person lynched (aka cuitl).

4) We don't even know that the leader will get a veto. What if they have a different power that is beneficial do you really want to give that to someone who doesn't want the role?
 
Here's another thought:

Any of the possible people wanting votes may be able to provide FALSE investigations a la kismet. That would be handy too for the wolves.

I thought of that one, that would suck. But, I can guarantee that is not me of course you would just have to take my word for it. Unless everyone wants roles being outed this early then I could make myself look really innocent. 😉
 
It wasn't my argument, I was just putting together things others have said. And I don't understand how there can be so much arguing in the beginning already when no one has any information regarding others. Every single person could be a wolf, so should everyone just vote for themselves?

Wasn't me who stated dyachei didn't vote for herself, that was SOV. Maybe he skimmed over it? 😕

Still think we should probably vote for someone who actually wants the position since we have no clue what powers that position has.
