As far as I'm concerned, you can call me whatever you want, but at least get my sex correct. Hubby is not a fan of "Chronicle of the Veterinary Student" (his name for SDN) due to the amount of time I spend on here, but if he thought I was pretending to be a dude, that might throw him over the edge. :meanie:

Had a brief chance to catch up before work. Not sure what this other message business is, but I'm not feeling good enough to put in my vote for SOV. So happy lynching to everyone. I won't be back until this evening!

Eh, if someone were James/Lily Potter, or Cedric Diggory, I'd think they could have a 'one-time PM and response type thing." Since those guys actually came out of Voldy's wand-tip in the graveyard. Of course, they were only there for those few minutes, but did really help Harry escape. So that'd be a plausible one-time-use kind of dead PM. Not so much with Ernie, haha.

Hmmm....to come back as a ghost, you have to take specific measures while you're alive to ensure that you become a ghost when you die...it's not really an "Oh! I'm dying! I wanna be a ghost, GO!" kind of thing. Pictures....have limited knowledge.

Of course, this is just my take on the lore. 🙂 Who knows if this is what the mods were/are thinking. :laugh:

okay, so we know IPB got a strange message saying SOV was Fenrir Greyback. But SOV claims to be Millicent Bulstrode? And no one else has come forward and claimed this to be their role (Millicent that is?).

Have we thought of the theory that millicent is SOV's "alter ego" like whenever he is investigated he will be revealed as her, but he is really Fenrir? I know in the past we have had wolfy roles where they can't be investigated.

If we don't get any further details, then this is probably what I will go with. I know who don't know who IPB got the message from, but the messages have to mean something?
 
Oh IPB, you are the sweetest. I am inclined to believe you as I was sent a message saying I heard a mysterious voice warning me that silence is coming and be aware. This could be forever silence, as in death!

That thread took forever to catch up on. I got home last night from the pub at 4 am with every intention of getting online and reading up, but instead promptly passed out in my bed. :laugh:

Anyhow, I am not really sure what the heck is going on with this message IPB received. It sounds to me like either the message is lie sent to throw SOV under the bus or if it is true then whoever sent it should have filtered their investigation results in a more normal way cause they are confusing the crap out of everyone. And the fact that Phil's Lab was killed on the same night they were going to be investigating SOV is a little odd, so either someone did not want SOV to be investigated or someone set all this up to make SOV look like a wolf and then silenced him.

SOV told our group from the very beginning that he was Millicent Bulstrode and I would see no reason for him to make up that role as a ruse. Now perhaps he was converted since we think there could have been a conversion, but I am not really comfortable right now lynching him with just this message and him not being able to defend himself.

I have to head to the dentist but will check back in after...

FWIW, Fenrir is a werewolf. He'd be a perfect wolfy conversion candidate. As in, he'd be a fantastic name for a 'student' to turn into.
 
I just feel like it is a little too convenient that SOV was supposed to be investigated but his investigator dies and SOV is silenced so that he can't defend himself. I truly feel this is just a set up. That being said, I have no idea who else to lynch.

I just woke up and am trying to get everything straight. Ivorypolarbear got an owl saying that SOV is a wolf. Meanwhile SOV is silenced. (side note: I had the confundus charm last night but decided not to use it.) Philliab was investigating SOV the night she died. And now Jamr0ckin has a weird message. The thing that I'm most curious about in this mess is that IPB specified it was an owl. All the other strange messages came from mysterious voices according to their recipients. Why would the dead use owls to send messages, especially if they're roaming around as ghosts. The owl is a rotating item.

I had the confundus charm last night and asked my housemates if there was anyone suspicious that I should use it on. Jjohnston explained to me that silencing is really only useful in the game when there's one wolf left so you can stop them from killing and accurately pinpoint them. I decided it not to use it then. SOV was silenced by someone else.
 
I think I've caught up with you guys but still am not quite sure what is happening or who to lynch. There has been talk of the legilimens spell and the crystal ball bu could there possibly also be a seer role? I haven't played a game yet that I can remember that there wasn't someone who could investigate without items. I also think that Millicent is a vague enough character that SOV could have made up that character as cover and hoped that no one else had been given her. I am still not set on lynching SOV but I still don't have any other ideas of what to do.

Geeze. I feel like you and my ex are the same person sometimes. Both went to PSU, love the fishbowls/drinking and now you love trivia. And I don't hate my ex or anything, so this isn't a bad thing.




And on a game related note, I definitely think it's possible that SOV could be Fenrir and Millicent because I had a very similar rule in the clue game. When investigated by an item, I could never be revealed and only had a 50% chance of having my identity revealed when investigated by a seer. Also, if there is an Occulumens spell out there and just hasn't been mentioned, or on the off chance that 1 or 2 people actually have special abilities, it's possible they could be defending these investigations. However, I also am a little wary given the clustereff that occurred earlier in the game.

Well, not necessarily. We (the dead players) in the GoT game tried our best for our messages to NOT mean something and to be as confusing as possible. Unfortunately that backfired, but that was our intent, haha.

Here's my thought process: If the message was from phil from beyond the grave, wouldn't she have identified herself in it? If it was from an investigation, why deliver the results in such a confusing way? Also, while it's possible that there's a seer role, I haven't heard of a single student with any sort of ability, so I'm not sure it's likely at this time. There are two investigative items at this time: phil had Legilimens, and the other is the crystal ball. I know for a fact it was not used on SOV last night. So how would this mysterious source know the identity of SOV?

I don't know. I'm not saying SOV is NOT a wolf, I'm just not sure this message can be 100% trusted. Also, I hate lynching players that cannot defend themselves. This will look bad on me if he is in fact a wolf, but that's my thinking for now.
 
Perhaps we have a bat eared prof trelawney in our presence.

Jj- but what if that was something philliab was prohibited from doing? I feel like we are relying to heavily on the notion of dead players having an active role. I'm not saying that they don't have a role, but there could very well be a role that allows pming of these kinds of messages.

I'm not so sure about lynching SOV. He was very helpful in the beginning of the game, though it's possible he was converted. I would hate to lynch him when he's silenced though. It doesn't seem like anyone has any other leads, however. I feel like someone is sending random messages to confuse us. We never did figure out the whole nyanko-business that happened earlier.

Maybe the message senders are wolves who are trying to throw us off their trail? SOV would be a good suspect because he's been playing oddly, and we know there may have been a conversion earlier, so it would be stupid not to suspect him. However, we never really figured out this whole nyanko business, and I am inclined to think that Nyanko is not a wolf, and that the people implicating nyanko and SOV are wolves throwing out red herrings. If they both turn out to be wolves, that would totally suck. Maybe we should lynch one (sorry) to test the validity of the messages? If the one we lynch is a wolf, we can bet the other one is too because of the same process of mysterious message sending.
 
I love all the theorizing hehe...I am going biking but will try to be back by noon, if Nohika is around and wants to close the day she can otherwise it may be just a little later than noon, which, judging by the amounts of votes at this point, you guys might need the extra time!

But the messages re:nyanko were not about her being a wolf. She got a message that she was going to be lynched and wildcatj's investigation of her came back as “blocked by mysterious forces.” The other message in that whole mess was to Sheeps, saying there's a wolf in Gryffindor. I took notes on that whole debacle and am still unsure what to think.

Yeah, but people were suspicious of nyanko because of the fact that the investigation was blocked. I thought people had made a connection between the fact that nyanko couldn't be investigated, that she was going to be lynched, and that there was a wolf in gryffindor. Maybe I just made that up, though. :laugh:

Either way, we need to find out if there's validity in these messages.

I've honestly had my suspicions of SOV, as I know others have, and have been wondering if this message is an attempt for us to spare him? I mean, honestly, it's perfect timing considering we're all wary based on the nyanko/ravenclaw/etc mess. Maybe we're just playing into someone's hands. I don't like lynching someone who is silent either, but SOV's been silenced a lot this game already, which makes me wonder why it's happening in the first place. I'm not saying to lynch him or anything either but I can't help but wonder if our hesitation is exactly what someone wanted.

Yeah I'm kind of sick of all this thinking, sorry SOV. I hate lynching you while you can't defend yourself but IMO we need to start somewhere and I want to see if this message was right.
