Got my interview at Houston today by email (kinda late?). Is it too late to hope for A&M? I already live in Dallas, so it'd be my top choice 🙁

Really thought I'd hear back from UCONN too because of a connection I have with the program director. This whole endeavor just gets my stomach in knots ugh.

Be grateful you got Houston! That's a big accomplishment. Its never too late. As programs start accepting people, interview spots will open up in other programs if that applicant had multiple interviews...like our friend @ncide 🤣

Hello Everyone,
All the very best for your interviews and hopefully new beginnings. Im a foreign trained Endodontist, who moved to the USA and completed my DMD in 2019 and now practicing at a non-profit rural clinic. I am having 2 years experience as a general dentist, 1 year as an Endodontist in my home country and 2 years experience as a general dentist here in the US. I feel I am ready to start my application process for Endo residency here. I have never expressed the interest to join Endo to any of my Endo faculty during my DMD days. My question is "what is the best way to approach them and reconnect after 2 years" ? I have had good grades, but I was not a part of the Endo Club or any study club at school. I honestly did not have an intention to do Residency back then. Are there any specific programs which consider previous Residency experience ? Please do give me your opinion. Thank you for reading such a long post !

Being an endodontist in another country should generally be a strong positive on your application and help get you noticed. I know two people like that who got into programs. Most programs like experience but there are a few that only take new grads or their own grads and it’s hard to find out what each program likes.

As far as LOR, most program directors won’t care that much if it’s a faculty or private letter unless it’s someone they know (someone published, another program director, etc). One letter from faculty besides the Dean’s letter is probably plenty. Otherwise it’s ok to get letters from private practice.

Wow langone.. I wish I had that invite

I just got the Columbia virtual seminar invitation as well. I don't think it's an interview, more of a general open panel?

Also got invite for virtual interview session. Never heard of something like this.

I got it too, I'm wondering if everyone got it?
I got virtual seminar session as well by Columbia. I think they have their interview dates scheduled between August 3-12 as per their website. I feel this is just "meet and greet - know about the program" session? Did everyone who applied got this invite?

University of Nebraska Medical center. Interview invite via phone. Dates are Aug 12-13 in person

What about private practice experience of 3 years with no aegd/gpr. Do they stand a place?
I graduated in 2018, no GPR/AEGD and I have 2 interviews so far this year, but I was top 10% of class, have done a lot of volunteer work, including with an adjunct endo professor at one of the programs. I do think that a GPR would have helped the previous times I applied.

Did Columbia sent out Virtual information session to all who applied?

Did Columbia sent out Virtual information session to all who applied?
I was also wondering the same thing. But it looks like everyone who applied received it as far as I know. Not 100% though..
