Panem et Circenses - Game Thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I've been delayed by a bunny but still like my doggo Lynch. I know they are a noob too so there's a pause there too...
I'm on pg 8 of reread 😳

@Barkley13 @SportPonies @PippyPony Other than the comment by Em earlier, why else are you currently voting to lynch them.

I am skeptical of those jumping on the Em lynch. It feels like a new player mistake, irregardless of if they are wolf or villager. Outside of that one comment, can anyone on the Em bandwagon explain why you are voting for Em?
3 votes is a bandwagon?

And why are you more worked up about this than Em seems to be?

I like the em Lynch cuz her posts are sketch but it could definitely be noobiness... I am interested in the wz Lynch but I think it's more a morbid fascination cuz she's Lynch Teflon. Ok going back to my reread
I'm less interested in the WZ Lynch after more reread. This feeling may also apply to pippy and leave her in vill lean

Also @Navilly I understand you appear to be mildly sketched out by me, but what is your read on BarkBark and Sporty? Anything else bothering you about them other than the fact that they are on a vote you don't approve of?

Mostly lack of memorable contribution from either of the two of them, which might turn up to be untrue on a reread. Instead of going back through this game, been looking at other games to get a better feel

Yeah I might suggest focusing on this game. Not sure it's going to be the best use of your time to get a historical compilation of the playing styles of 20 people.

Sporty has had minimal contribution, I will give you that.

@Navilly thoughts on mutts?
Being honest, I am pretty okay at this point creating a tie of 3 people at this point and just gathering the information that falls from it. Not the most popular stance, but if one of the three falls wolf, we get a lot of info, and still get some information even if none of them are wolves.

With that said, I see Mutts unfortunately more as a plot point then I do as a nefarious wolf right now, I am not necessarily discounting him as not a wolf, since he has had a couple of sketchier things to say today (which I have brought up earlier), but I guess that is not quite my main motivation of letting him be lynched, if it comes down to that.

And agreed Pippy, that it may or may not, but uncharacteristic game play is huge, and it's hard as an uninformed person to appreciate uncharacteristic gaps. You are taking your position of information for granted.

anybody find it weird that navs has only asked about staypositive/paws and none of the other nicknames? Am I just the hardest one?
I keep confusing if you are the nickname that I think you are, and go with the full name instead to avoid confusion. I keep believing there is someone named Paws within this game.

I don't know, man. Sometimes I feel like it gets harder to read a player objectively when you've been playing with them for a long time, and you've seen them pull all kinds of crazy stuff.

I didn't vote

If I had voted for Mutts, it would have tied it

I have a history of being slow with ties & missing last second deadlines, and therefore it was ha ha funny for me to fake vote way after voting closed like I had missed it by accident
Oh I didn't realize it was after Lynch. That makes sense

I mean... You are partially correct. When you see people pull crazy stuff, you know they are unpredictable and are not sure what to expect. But then you have a valuable piece of information of unpredictability, which Is just as valuable as knowing someone's concrete meta, if that makes any sense at all.

You're in a pre-vet forum. Pawsitive is a pun that just kind of goes with the profession. Also, you're going to be right more often when guessing a person's pronouns as she/her just due to the overwhelming number of female applicants to vet school.

That was a mistake, I am usually quite good about using them/they, but I am used to having the default of him/her. for when I mess it up.

Plus the stagg and Mel are guys and from the med side lol

But how will us crazy people who have been here for a while pull a fast one on you if you're expecting us to do it? That seems unfair, like you're depriving us of some prima nocta type rights. I work hard for the opportunity to eventually trick some noobs. :caution:

So yes, I get that. Knowing a player's meta can be useful. I also know that noobs are sometimes eerily good at discerning when some veteran players are wolves just because those vets can say "I'd totally do that really wolfy thing as a villager, it's no big deal" and the rest of the veteran group views it as within the player's meta so we buy it. But that lone noob in the wilderness sees the truth.

I mean, the point is I am not expecting you to do it yet. I haven't read through nearly enough games to even get a partial feel for most people's metas. It's just a recent history essentially that I am going with, and only on some of the people within the game. If it's easier, I can just direct my early voting for you each game until I evolve out of noob status, this way no fast one can truly be pulled over.

I mean that is fair also. Sometimes people make dumb mistakes, and an outsider can see a dumb mistake as a dumb mistake, instead of something else. I just feel that more times than not, it is more helpful being on the informed side of things than being on the uninformed and hoping something drops into your lap.

I will be honest, cubs is also higher up on my list, but because they have been picking a fight with me, I have avoided that avenue, as I am not sure how much of that is simply bias. I am curious to hear where your thoughts are with them.
Did you see my reasoning like pg one or two? I have been unable to read him correctly in the past, but haven't been crazy about contribution so far though I know he's on vaca so leway with IRL.
On one hand I can see why he was riled up about you not giving us your info but on the other hand that was the entirety of his focus so far so I'm def wolf lean until I see things that lean him more vill

Yeah that's why pip always thinks I'm wolfing

I hope @Stagg737 gets caught up soon.

Trying. Starting pg 14 right now and keep having to leave to take care of kiddo stuff, but I have a lot I want addressed.

For now: Lynch EM

Reasons to come, but I'm also finding Navilly more sketchy and a bit concerned that AM seems to be sitting back so much up to where I'm at.
