My impression from Connie was that the decisions would be made during the Wed meeting. If they are, then I think the letters will go out by Fri. They know we are all on edge.

I'm fairly certain it's already been confirmed that they are going snail mail.

However, having done this last year (although not with Purdue), the only people who really know what's going on are the admissions folks, and frankly half the time we have wrong info. 🙄

The moral is that we're ALL going insane, they know we're anxious, and there's no sense driving yourself batty! We should know soon enough! 😛

I called in yesterday... they told me the same thing. Decisions will be made on Wednesday, and snail mail letters will go out within a few days... but she did mention that some letters MAY go out later (waitlist people?) so I guess if we don't hear anything we might still have a chance? Gah, this is so nerve-wracking!

I heard today from a couple of 2nd and 3rd years that letters will be mailed out the end of this week and we may hear something probably next week or so. Oh rumors how you keep me on the edge!! Well either way, I will keep my fingers crossed for all of us!

All this waiting and anxiety is making me eat terrible food! I usually don't let things get to me, but at this point if an extra cookie will get me through to next week, I'm eating it! However, that probably means I won't fit into my lab coat should I get in, but I feel better right now.

Completely, 100%, agreed. Well, the "weak red velvet cake-related self control" part. The baking skills not so much. That said, I will gladly take any red velvet cakes that someone would want to, you know, get out of their house to avoid eating them?

lol... I'm all with you guys... I never thought i would be freaking out this much. I couldn't understand all the crazy posts about how they're going crazy waiting for the mail (I'm a first time applicant 😛) But I'm checking email obsessively even though I know we're not getting it through email. Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. I love that it seems like the schools who MAIL interview invites do notifications by email, while schools who email interviews snail mail notifications!

This is late, but I'm a very picky food person and have had a hard time finding "good" resturaunts in the area.

Hunters Pub (amazing chicken / portobello parm)

This is really late, but former Purdue grad/current Rossie here, and let me tell you I am missing some of the great restaurants in Lafayette right now. To see someone saying that good restaurants are hard to find in the area is disheartening. For those of you OOSers who get accepted, consider this your holy grail to food in the area:

1. Hunter's Pub - Great specials, homemade soups, daily fresh vegetable and a good beer selection.

2. Chumley's - Averageish pub food but fantastic beer selection.

3. Black Sparrow - Delicious food (bacon-wrapped dates, mmm), microbrews and oldschool cocktails.

4. Bluefin Bistro - Great sushi.

5. Knickerbocker - Their nachos Cubanos are really good, but go here for the martinis.

6. Spaghetti's - Good Italian food.

7. Thai Essence - Really delicious, cheap Thai food.

I did actually check out Blue fin last week, possibly the best sushi I've ever had! And definitely agree on Chumleys beer. For any beer snob out there, this place will make you soooo happy =)

But I'm a picky thai food eater and wasn't happy with Thai Essence =( I might give it another shot though...

Sorry caribbean food isn't as good =( But hey! You're in the caribbean!! Wooo!!!!!How could it be all that bad? (I'm regretting not applying there...)

😍 Just got a phone call from the Dean... so excited! I almost didn't pick up the phone because I didn't recognize the number, and I had been practicing self control and not checking SDN since yesterday evening... Hopefully I get to see you all at Purdue!

Now, off for celebratory drinks and to make a cheesecake, who cares if I have a test tomorrow!
