I am so confused. I should be dead. Legit was reading the thread and saw the vote switch to me towards the end and thought “thank god, they’re putting me out of my misery” and I honestly have nooo idea why I’m still alive. So serious....swear on my kitties.
 
Major side eyeing those that jumped on me at the end. Wolves would have known I could die which makes me think this happened because of either a villager or potentially chaos mechanism. I am not a wolf.

Is it possible AM’s protection got redirected to me? I didn’t receive any notification though.
 
I was stuck in a damn parking lot for 2 hours. Seriously they had a football game getting out, a concert getting out and another concert starting all from the same damn parking area. It was a ****ing mess.
 
Seriously, wolves are probably scratching their head right now wondering why I didn’t die.

Well. It's my fault, too. I bitched about someone rezzing you because a) I guessed there'd be a village rezzer, and b) I figured it was at least 50/50 you came back with your ability.

They were protectors of each other while the other one lived

It appears they could be blocked or otherwise disrupted

I talked to Mel on D4 (I think? I'm all messed up by the night that didn't happen) at which point the suspicions I had about their role were confirmed.

vmh and I were the only people who knew the extent of their role

The weirdness that I was referencing is that they apparently had separate PMs in addition to a mason thread (AM you can confirm or refute this); it made Mel a little worried that she could be converted. I can quote it.

HOWEVER in my opinion today she has been acting entirely consistent with how she has been acting all game. Hence I do not think she was converted.

So, Pippy for original and AM for convert?

Pippy would <totally> convert a mason, planning to later use that as evidence of villagerness.

My ability is that I can PM people. I picked (in order):

AM
genny
Mel (also PMed with vmh extensively this day because of the open PMs)
MJ
Dubz

Other details, since we're getting to end game and I feel that it is less useful to conceal this stuff at this point in time...

- I was affiliation seered by genny on N2 (maybe N3? -- again, the night cancel is messing me up) via an item. That is the brief exchange I had with her on the thread about "the thing that happened" (I first thought I didn't get night results; turns out I hadn't seen them yet). So I started the game as village. Same general rules apply to me about being a convert, I suppose, but keep in mind that it would have been incredibly stupid for me to authorize kills on genny and mel given previous arguments I've put on the thread, and I have known about AM and mel since he brought up that he knew my role. --> So, not an original; decide for yourself if you think I'm a convert (but don't decide wrong 😛 )

- I gave MJ the info about Mel's role because vmh asked me to share her targets via PM channel; he agreed it sounded like chaos

- Dubz now knows MJ's role name. It is not particularly wolfy sounding imo

- I know dubz's role name. Am tempted to share it on the thread because it is skeeeetch despite her claims to the contrary

- Dubz & MJ both know my role name; I can guarantee it is not a sketch character.

- Sporty's protest of my dumb attempt to get someone to admit to being seered by vmh makes me want to lean her village (because I was also seered by vmh, on N1, and can confirm there was no seering message).

4:1 is ok (but still stronger wolf-favor than I personally like). But when you had it at 3:1 ... ouch. That's overtly wolf leaning and unfair to the village.

It's like kaydubs has lost her edge.

Not surprised about kara, though. Lots of people throw down the mod-glove, but not many follow through.

Kaydubs has a history of following through, though. Which, as another mod that is willing to annihilate players, I totes approve.

But seriously, is that the best you've got? "Huh, wow, how did that happen?" Like, has that defense ever worked for anyone?

I literally don’t know how else to defend myself against this, my confusion is the honest truth. I’m not just trying to be cute here. If anything I’m glad I got you guys another cycle, I’m sure you’ll all lynch me again tomorrow and you will all be shocked that I’m a villager. Or wolves pull an idiot move and convert me tonight.

Simply because I would hate to see Teeps lynched and village lose because of it, here we go.

I was given the ability to affiliation seer two people as mayor. I looked into Dubz on night 1 (village), which puts Pippy's concern about her role name to rest. She started village at the very least. This is also why I said early in the game, "I don't like this WZ lynch."

I affiliation seered Teeps immediately after he came back. Also village. He was not resurrected as a wolf.

For WW here, I've never seen a situation where a mason can't be converted. The purpose here for ww has been it is a group of villagers or two villagers that know each other started village but no guarantee what happens during the game.

I buy this.

In my mind, then, we should be looking at:
- Allie
- MJ
- Possible LIS convert
- Possible DVMD rez-as-wolf
- Possible dubz convert
- Much less likely AM convert

I can't say that Dubz wasn't converted, which is part of why I've stayed quiet. I'm pretty convinced she's still village, but have been staying low to listen to what everyone has to say about it and make sure I'm not just completely disregarding Dubz as a possible convert.

Makes sense but at least help Pippy's paranoia on the original wolf aspect for WZ.

I always mess up and do 1/4 instead of 1:4 because I'm a dumb. Usually correct it when I'm actually designing a game...usually 😉

First, MafiaWiki isn't necessarily how things have been classically implemented here.

Second, I don't see in that particular wiki entry where it talks about conversion.

Here, at least, it's typically been implemented to mean that you know that your mason counterpart started the game as villager.

But it has never, to my recollection, meant they can't be converted.

If you want to start arguing semantics with regard to the name of the 'role', fine, but getting back here to the reality of this game on this forum ... I cannot think of a time it inherently meant your partner could not be converted.
