StardeWW Valley - GAME THREAD

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
That's the main issue I have, is the "analysis" is severely lacking and just doesn't have the cutting edge that drives fear into the hearts of wolves. She's frequently wishy-washy, giving herself room to backpedal. And like on the one hand in her defense, I'm not expecting her to have solid, concrete reads on anyone, (Cubs for example, since that got brought up), but there's a matter-of-factness in her cadence in Bowwling, that's lacking in her PbPa here.

Can you explain what you mean by the bolded?
I mean she didn't get as mad at me for the vote as she did when I voted for her in Casino, or at least didn't appear to. So that would be a point for the wolfy side, as would your commentary on the analysis bit. Probably those two things together are stronger than my impression that her general frustration leans more village. I can't off the top of my head remember what she's posted like when getting heat as a wolf so I'll look into that and see if it helps me.

I was going through the gamelog and found a my heroes academia where she wolfed with a similar tone. Really boosted my confidence.

Night 1

“Keeper of the sacred cha-…you get the point.”

Many townsfolk rushed to the store, hoping to beat out their fellows on purchases of items. One person was particularly triumphant and full of glee. She filled out the order form, ignoring the glares and disappointed looks she received.

Orders poured in for different crops (seems everyone is a aspiring farmer! EXCELLENT!) and the store clerks were kept hopping well into the night.

Most returned home to sleep to restore their much needed energy but a whispered conversation or two could be heard. Or were those crickets?

The sun rose (a little slower than the townsfolk might have preferred cause the narrators seemed to be all a bustle). The townspeople gathered to trade discussions about their crops. An exclamation of concern came from one. "I was just on -- and I saw -- and -- please, just come quickly!!"

Only several yards from the store, a large pit had appeared overnight. At the bottom was a still figure. Despite efforts of the crowd to wake her, there was no response.

Dead is
@samac, a village conversion protector.

It is now Day 2. Vote closes at 9pm EST (8pm CST/6pm fantasyland) on Saturday, 2/5/2022.

I don't think I've ever seen that role before. Interesting.

Not inclined, normally, to see either subject of a D1 wagon as valid yeet material. But her immediate aftermath posts seemed fairly wolfy.

If I'm going to turn into an egg to crack for the rest of the game, then I'm not going to spend multiple hours on my day off finishing my pbpa only to die anyway.

And I'm aware that y'all aren't going to change your mind unless I "play better" or whatever but clearly numerous of you are deep in a tunnel that I don't see you coming out of until I flip.

I'm still interested in genny too.

Who are you leaning towards today? Keep in mind if you say me I will cry.

I want to see genny flipped because it's possible she TMI'd dubz's affiliation.

Because you know I’m village?

In the world where we are actually dealing with Wolf!Dubz, this feels like a TMI slip.
Noted
Did ya murder me wolves?
If so I wish I could see wolf chat as the results roll in.
😈
Was going to post I don't get this. But now I get what this is about- conversion role reveal
I'm wondering if the wolves have access to the store or not. Maybe part of this game involves the wolves killing villagers and usurping their crops/funds/tools rather than being able to get their own.
I found myself speculating on mechanics a ton in criminal minds as a wolf. Especially stuff like this. I felt/feel less informed and more prone to speculate about powers from a wolf's perspective than from a villagers perspective. As a wolf- PR's threaten me. As a villager- they are icing on the cake but they don't affect my play so much.

I need to look at a few things but starting out here today. Ranking within color groups is fluid except the yellows/neutrals are in order. Idk how well it's showing up but Barks and true are less green than the bottom 3. No one has earned darkest greens yet.

I agree with your top two wolf reads, but genny also seemed wolfy to me in the last game and she was village, so I'm not putting stock in my reads of her.

Clearly she's going to be the Alpha Villager
I don't like this phrasing. I guess there is alpha villagers. But I always think and read it more as alpha wolf.
Sporty! Why are you eyerolling this?! It was your joke!
It took me a spot to get this. lol

I am usually willing to give one more day to someone I read as wolf. But I am not sure we can afford to with conversion being a possibility... and the chance to prevent it.

Why on Earth would they choose someone being wolf-read to convert? You'd want to convert, like, Dubz or AM.

So that means conversion is in play. Nice. Real nice. The good news is that we can't fully eliminate anyone and all you fools are back to square one with me.
Do you have reason to believe someone was converted N1?

Vets, curious: if we assume that Samac's role isn't a joke by the mods, it means there's conversion. What has that looked like in other games? Is it usually just a one-shot? Does it tend to only happen later in the game?

Just trying to get a sense of what I should be looking out for.

In regards to conversion, I say we hold off discussion on who could be converted after N1 for one more day. I don't want to give wolfpack insight to what would be a better target for conversion if they haven't already converted. And if they already have we don't need to crack that egg just yet anyway.

Any insight on what days conversions usually occur? I think I have experienced N1 only but maybe a later one. Too far in the game seems too unfair.

Do you have reason to believe someone was converted N1?
No. But conversion is in play. I hope if there is a conversion that it was last night. We need to throw out any concrete data points based off of D1 analysis. This stinks of the last game where Dubz was the convert. Make no concrete conclusions about anyone.

And I'm caught up!

I hate getting caught up like this. I get used to rapidly reading and writing. But when I get caught up, it is a lot of sitting around, twiddling thumbs and waiting.

I was actually hoping for an answer from True. I don't believe he's experienced any form of conversion before.
Oh, I thought it was obvious enough that I didn't need to spell it out. When I say "oh no, there was a conversion blocker" I'm implying that I'm worried about conversion.

Is this not exactly what wolves want?

I guess I'm just surprised you were able to recognize the meaning at all.
It doesn't take a rocket surgeon to know what the word "conversion" means in this context, but I have played WW games before, just in person rather than on forums.

No. They want us to keep the data points from D1 and our concrete reads/leans. That way we think there is no way that xxx could be a wolf based off their previous actions before conversion. Now that we know, we keep looking for sus ppl just like we were. We just don't eliminate ppl based off of D1 (possibly D2 actions). I hesitate to say what else we look for bc you don't want to help the converted wolf.

You sound like me which makes me want to village you. Dangerous lol.

Now that he has explained. I recall me figuring it out and only asking to clarify (as a person that had never played.)

It is a valid point for AM to bring up. And valid answer as well

Interesting why?

What do you mean
Parsnips empire was so specific that I assumed she had some sort of observational PR and could read True's PMs or something. Edit: "buried under parsnips" and his subsequent "who told you about my parsnip empire" seemed like a soft confirmation that there was something to it. I see now that they were being goofs.

The question remains, why did they not wait and convert samac???
I don't think it's worthwhile to speculate without greater mechanical knowledge. Could be any number of reasons. Maybe they only get it after N2, or a wolf dies, or other triggers etc. No way of knowing why decisions were made, or what was possible.
