I've also been "huh-ing" all day at Zenge's post. maybe he thought a bunch of the vets were getting read cards on him and wanted to bring in something fresh and chaotic to mix it up. can't decide if that's more of a wolf or village thing tho. but maybe there's some mechanic that he is actually involved in. I'm just a whole lot of confused on it. thats why im willing to go with it for now but its definitely still sitting on the back burner simmering. for how long? Idk

What I'm grappling with is why the mods would specifically put in the roles not to use role revealing as a way to solve the game, and Zenge immediately storms in and that's his first post. I don't see how he could do that and avoid a mod slap unless it was a requirement... Like some very unusual variation of innocent child?

Just for clarification, when I say not to use role reveals, I mean the character part of your role, not ability claims. Of course, anyone who knows me as a mod knows that ability claims are fraught with terrors as well. But for the purposes of clear interpretation, I was talking about characters.

Pleasy’s questioning of Zenge and actually daring to question his logic rather than just accepting he was village.

Because he came in, claimed seer, and then just expected none of us to question it in a giant essay post. And for the most part all we did was accept it and joke about it. I also REALLY don’t like that the mods legit said “don’t use role-revealing to solve the game, it won’t work” and Zenge immediately role-revealed. Just kinda rubbed me the wrong way and it wasn’t how I like to start games. I like working our way up to long posts and ISOs. I really only like role-revealing when someone is in danger of being yeeted.

Also it wasn’t what I wanted to see first-thing at 7am so I was a bit annoyed. Like “damn it, I have to actually think super early today and use my brain.” That part is a joke but I definitely wasn’t conscious for my first 2 read throughs of that post.

i feel like what a lot of people are seeming to get hung up on is that its not how they personally would open a game but like I don't see the relevance in that??? like its CERTAINLY not something i would do but i don't really see it as sketch because of that, I see it as bold. Villager bold I think is more likely than wolf bold, but it is just plain, either way, bold

Zenge is bold no matter what affiliation he is. He’s had some crazy claims as a wolf and as a villager

agreed to this. one thing i've learned is that people being highly village read are likely to be NK'ed. the reverse is the exact reason i made it to endgame in the noob game. now we're not exactly village reading him, but he's getting a pass from most for now. and i feel like seer is a very valuable role for us village. why out himself? kinda screwing us over imo. both of these make it seem like he could be a target of wolves, which makes it more confusing as to why he did this in the first place.

I think you're going to start most games with me quibbling over the content of all my posts and word choices, and I've accepted that that's just how I read to you. If I don't directly engage you more over this, I hope you understand. I got a headache from arguing with you whether it's wolfy or not for me to write the way I do in Bowwling.

I've never been anything but villager and after the noob game, always always a vanillager. I'm just wolfy to you.

I won't contradict you, cause you included alley in that too, and I second what alley said. She said it more eloquently than me, but I'm not just gonna sit and accept that Zenge is the seer just because he said so.

I agree that it's a bold move for a wolf. My initial reaction was that I'll feel better about him once he actually seers a wolf (cause it'll be very easy for a wolf to be seering villagers). I've seen DubZ claim seer in StardeWW so I don't think his post should be the rule by which we all play.

However, after the initial conversation with you, I had the thought that it might indeed have been mechanically required for him to role reveal as the first post in the thread. From what I've heard from other veterans, Zenge always tries to be 1st but it seems unlikely that he'd be first and write an essay at the same time. Which makes me feel better about him. His subsequent engagement on the thread has me feeling better about him, so I'm definitely not stuck on him being a wolf.

tbh i always have you as a wolf. before you died in noob game i had you as wolf, and then again when you were rezzed i had you as wolf. and every game i've watched i had a stoatywolf view and thought surely RNG chose you by now. i'll be right eventually...
