Disclaimer: Sorry I know these threads are kinda annoying! I searched for a specific TCOM vs PCOM thread and couldn't find one.
I matched at TCOM through the TMDSAS but got a scholarship from PCOM that brings tuition to a similar level. Family's in Houston so that's a big draw for staying in Texas, but I'm also kinda enamored by Philly and have cousins that live there.
From what I hear PCOM's been around much longer, and I'm not necessarily looking to stay in Texas for residency, and has a much more developed OPTI. But would a bigger OPTI be thaaaat important after the merger?
TCOM has more/better research, which is something I'm def interested in. It's also converting to pass/fail for my class. However, they only give 4 weeks to study for USMLE/COMLEX prep, which kinda concerns me. Is that really enough time?
Both have really great rotations and clinical sites.
What would yall recommend?
