Okay, so my M.O. with forum games thus far is that when I'm catching up it feels weird to ask questions that may have been asked/answered already, which makes me want to get completely current before really giving concrete thoughts, which if post volume is high or I'm busy means that I'm never quite current and don't end up saying much, and this is not helpful for the gamestate in general or helping people get a read on me.
SO, I'm "current" as of roughly page 12 (basically through my AM vote and the immediate response) and I'll give some thoughts up to that point. And I see that there aren't that many new pages since then, so I can catch up the rest of the way.
JJJ is my top town read, and I don't really understand Clem's scum read there. Tinfoil from the people here who are unfamiliar with Jay I would understand since he's new to them and stepping into a town leader role. I've only had one game with him but to me his enthusiasm seems genuine rather than just going through the motions of projecting "town leader Jay". What's looked best on a full read has been that any time there was a thread that I noted as worth pulling, Jay was there pulling it shortly after. An example of this is p#144 where he's tagging Empire to make sure a question from AM gets answered. The only off part in his play so far is that he seemed kind of thrown off-kilter by Clem's scum read.
The rest are leans, roughly-ish ordered:
Lean Town
April
PSV
Santy
Neutral
Samac
Genny
Sporty
Clem
AM
Lean Wolf
Empire
True
I can expand on those as necessary, I think one notable bit is AM/Empire: I voted AM, the response was kinda OMGUSy but that's whatever, not necessarily AI depending on the player. My vote was because it seemed to me she could have been reacting to Jay's vote on me in a way that would solidify it, but she was actually reacting to an Empire post that fits the bill even better as that sort of ping (it was the post where Empire was saying he likes Jay's vote on me but doesn't think it's the right POE). So that shifted those two around. I'm not putting AM higher than neutral at this point though since on a full read I didn't see a whole lot of pushes or reactions to things (other than my vote, and at least up to page 12).
The other notable bit is True. In short, I can see why he's POE. And (caveat that the game is never as easy as it seems) those two seem compatible. An early interaction for example was True on page 2 getting paranoid about the early JJJ town core, and then Empire townreading True for it shortly after. (Samac had the opposite take and scumread True for it, so that's an interesting unpairing if any of those flip wolf). I also noticed that True seemed in the early game to be interested in getting the "noobs" into the game mechanically (explaining rules and such) but not necessarily engaging them in solving. There was also an interesting interaction on page 3 with AM where he backed off after some fairly light pushback with a townread: "Going to stake my (slowly) developing reading card on AM on her being village".
Another note was p#404 where he was reluctant to slap together a reads list because he's "gotten himself into trouble" doing that before, which seems a little too concerned with how the reads will be perceived that with what those reads are.
Anyway I don't really wallpost but this has turned into one so I'll leave it there for now and continue catching up. I plan on moving my vote to True or Empire once I'm current (not totally sure what the wagons look like currently).
