Does anybody know if the $2,000 deposit is refundable?

Hey guys, I just got back from my interview day here and wanted to address that comment about the "Jewish funding." So, they did make a point to mention it several times, but I think it's just because the Jewish culture/experience is pretty pervasive on campus which is not common at other schools. For instance, the food is kosher (whatever), the office hours regard the sabbath and Jewish holidays, AND there are mezzuzzahs (sp?) on every doorway in the main campus. I didn't feel it was obnoxious to mention, it just seemed like an FYI if some people were not familiar or wondering what and why.
Overall however, this interview day put Touro at the top of my list...this place is awesome. I could definitely see myself as a student there and am absolutely willing to relocate now that I have seen it (from Pittsburgh). The interview experience was relatively painless, I didn't use my last minute or so because I had questions that my interviewers couldn't really answer (military), but they were very helpful otherwise and asked very good questions -- I felt satisfied and as if I got to say everything that I wanted to say. Also if anyone else has an interview and they are traveling, STAY AT THE HILTON GARDEN INN (on west warm springs road). It's five minutes away, they drove me and two others interviewing to and from the interview (shuttle, no charge). They also gave me a late check out at 4 pm (sweet) so that I could relax after my interview. On top of this, I had a lot of time to kill before my flight and wanted to check out the strip and be touristy -- they locked up my luggage and then drove me to the strip and then picked me up hours later with my luggage and took me straight to the airport....awesome! It would have cost me $40 by cab one way, so this helped save a lot of money, they were fantastic!
Good luck to everyone, hope you get to have the same experience I did.

I submitted primary app 8/21
Received secondary 11/14 submitted it 11/16

I was the one who made that comment. If you go back and look, I also listed the exact same response as to what I thought their reasoning was for mentioning how they were funded. I guess, I just got bit annoyed when I heard them talk about how they were funded 6-7 times during the day. It just seemed unnecessary to have it repeated that many times. I was also running on few hours of sleep that day (even took a nap on that couch by the entrance when the shuttle was 2 hours late in picking me up..haha😛) so my tolerance level was low. Thats all.

still holding out hope for a secondary from here, I hear good things about this school. We shall see I guess.

+1, I was waitlisted also. do they tier the waitlist and if so, do you have to call and find out where you stand? my letter didnt say anything about it but from previous post, it looks like they do rank us...

At the interview we were told that they don't rank/tier the waitlist until April/May..

Interview 10/22 (morning), initial acceptance was via email. Letter is coming in the mail.

any mac users here sad they'll have to primarily use pc's at touro?

YES! When they told us that at the interview my heart sank  I mean I use Dell's at work but have a macbook pro that is on its last leg and was really looking forward to getting a shiny new mac for med school. May be a factor in deciding which school I go to.

Hey guys, I was accepted from the 10/30 interview date and was wondering if anyone has received their packet in the mail yet?

lol, same here. I have an old mac as well and i'm used to it, so may be a deciding factor as well if i get into two schools that i cant decide between hah.

II for Tuesday Nov. 27th! Really looking forward to checking this place out.

I'll be there on Tuesday as well! I just got the II email this morning, I was complete 9-13

No packet as of today, and I live in Cal. Hopefully tomorrow!

to those who have been accepted and will attend, what are some of the best aspects of TUNCOM?

yay! received secondary today! AACOMAS verified first week October.

although my acceptance from KCUMB still overpowers any other joy...😀

Congrats on KCUMB! I'm interviewing there this coming Monday, pretty nervous but I'm sure some interview question practicing will do the trick!

Also got my TUNCOM secondary yesterday, about two months after being verified, but the fee was 100$ instead of the 200$ I've been hearing about. Also, there was no essay. Am I missing something, or is this correct?

Edit: Read over the thread, apparently the 100$ is for NV and 200$ for CA. And there is no essay. Nice.

The cost of tuition includes a new Dell laptop, but that doesn't stop people from using their Macbooks and iPads every day. The only time you *need* the Dells are during exams.

got my acceptance letter in mail today. will be withdrawing so hopefully one of you WL folks gets my spot.

Did they send you an email first?

I'll gladly take your spot but I'm waiting for their decision and I still have approximately another 2 weeks to go

Anyone else having trouble with their login for the payment page? I have tried multiple times and it would not let me through. I guess I will call them in the morning to find out what's going on.

I had trouble, emailed the Tech email that shows up and Olga reset my Password and then it worked perfectly.

You could call, but the email did work for me

Thanks HalfListic, do you think you could PM me her e-mail? Every time I click on "contact support administrator" it tells me the page cannot be displayed (thus the whole calling vs e-mailing thing).

First ii - Dec 12, who's gonna be there? Morning session.
Excited😱

Withdrew my acceptance from here today, hopefully one of you gets it!

Can anyone who's had an interview comment on their experience? So, what was the format of the interview?

Yeah it was a great interview day. The actual interview was only 20 minutes. But they gave us a lot of helpful information. I loved the school.
