Did anyone who interviewed on 2/24 hear anything today?? I was hoping for news, but I guess I'll keep my fingers crossed for tomorrow!

I was in the same situation last week. If good news, you'll probs get a phone call tomorrow evening.

Give them till tomorrow 7pm before starting to worry. Also, if no one else from your interview group has heard back yet then that is good sign to postpone the worrying.

When i interviewed there, Obed said that High waitlist essentially means you got in. Just keep waiting till spots open up. There are students who always decide to go somewhere else. Hope to see you on the first day of class!

totally understand Turtle78! i'm playing the waiting game on other schools as well so if they pan out, then there will be one more spot open for ya. so either way, you can pretty much prepare for good news at TOUROCOM.

I got an email today that said I was waitlisted- medium. Does anyone know what my chances are on being offered a spot in the class??? It doesn't sound very promising to me at this point.

Hard to say without seeing your rank on the list. I think they rank in May. FWIW they where pulling off the medium list last year. Har far down they went??? I am not sure

I have a 3.9, 29Q, lots of experience, great (I thought!) interview...So, I was hoping for an acceptance. Alas, the endless waiting continues!!! Congratulations, and continued good luck to all

Question for you all: what is "early accept" to class of 2014? Does that require reapplication? Is it an unconditional acceptance if rejected now?

I am a soon to be 35 yr old caucasian male with significantly lower numbers than yours and was accepted recently. I have to think things are promising for you! I played to waiting game last year and know just how you feel...hang in there! I hope to see you in August.👍

yeah, Obed will send you an e-mail confirming that they received your deposit and then with some attachments about the Academic Calendar, Anatomy lab dress code, housing listings, etc. when did you mail in the deposit?

I applied to TouroCOM NY recently and received an email with a secondary application today. The way the email sounds it seems as though I am definitely going to be given an interview once I submit all of the required information. Do they screen primary applications and give interviews to everyone who fills out secondary apps?

You, my friend, have got an interview. Good Luck! Also, they do screen primaries pretty thoroughly. People that make the cut get an interview.

Yay that's exciting! One more question: on the admissions website it sounds like a LOR from a physician (MD or DO) is a requirement but on the supplemental application it sounds like it is a suggestion. Do you need to have a LOR sent from a physician?

I called and paid my deposit. On your deposit letter there should be a letter for the Office of the Bursar.

Here's the info.

Bursar Department Ms. Copeland 1 646-981-4553.

Obed will probably send you an e-mail a day or two after that with a few attachments about what you need to do before matriculation.

I believe so. I sent a DO and two Science letters in.

they gave me the acceptance email exactly two weeks after my interview. i think the general consensus is to give it two weeks. good luck!

They say 2 weeks and usually it's about 2 weeks, for me it was plus a day.

from the Tourocom website:
"In addition, an applicant is required to submit an evaluation from a pre-professional advisory committee, or letters of recommendation from two (2) science faculty familiar with work accomplished. Further, a letter of recommendation must be sent by a physician (D.O. or M.D.)."

so yes, you will need a physician letter. many other schools have it down as highly recommended, so it wouldn't hurt to get one and then use it for all the other schools anyway

Hey sardaukar, i really wouldn't sweat it. There have been numerous posts on SDN alone that got in here that said they were going to withdraw and leave room for waitlisters. High waitlist is a great position to be in if you didn't get accepted. So seriously don't sweat it. just my two cents, you're practically in. if anything, this will give you a little more time in terms of deposits that are due to see what happens at other schools. so sit back, relax, and celebrate!

congrats mehta! I interviewed the same day. I was the geezer (I'll be 35 when school starts). have you received some sort of info packet from Obed. I haven't gotten mine yet.

good luck to the waitlisters and hang in there. I was waitlisted somewhere else last year but it sounds like the list moves much more here. Hope to be sitting in class with you in a few months

I'm in the exact same position. I've been put on the high wait list... I'm upset at times but then I'm happy I'm not totally rejected. Let's just both hope we get in 🙂

for all of the high waitlisters out there:

the last 2 yrs, tourocom has taken everyone from the high waitlist into acceptance. Now there are no gaurentees, but come on, if your on the "high" waitlist, it means theres a "high" chance of you gaining an acceptance. Personally speaking, im on the high waitlist some where else and if taken off, I'm withdrawing from tourocom. A lot of other people are in similar situations, so don't be fearful. I'm sure all of the high waitlisers will be at tourocom if they choose to. Another thing you guys can do is send in letters of intent to express your interest in the school and how delighted you'd be to go there if taken off the waitlist.

i sent in my deposit (fedex) on 3/5...and sent an email to Obed just in case it didn't get there on time. I just got an email yesterday with registration details and a whole bunch of other info.

Im pretty sure I am going to be attending in the fall. I just spent like twenty minutes look for the post on finding your first apartment.
