Haha funny you should ask... yes I did notice that. Mine were all high, so I suppose I just suck somewhere else.
If you don't mind my asking, were you wait listed or rejected? Also, what were your stats like (again, feel free not to answer)? And finally, how did the interview go?
I'm just trying to figure out what/who exactly are they looking for? Is there some magic formula? It just seems that there are people with low scores and high scores being rejected and accepted left and right. I wonder what it is that Touro is looking for and I wonder if they'd ever let us in on it?
Yea I have a 3.9 GPA probably like a 3.2 science GPA, mediocre MCAT (thats my downfall) tons of clinical experience, tons of diversity experience, a Master's in clinical psychology... I am wait listed high. I think, like I said my MCAT is what is holding me back, and yea I could have taken it again but I didn't. I work full time and go to school, so I really didnt think I had the time to invest in really bringing up my score. Thus, what is the point of paying a ton of money to possibly have my score drop.
From what I gleaned in the interview they really look for you to want to be in Harlem, treating underserved populations, and dedicated to the osteopathic philosophy. All of which I am, though I think the "DO question" was asked of me in such a way that I sortof fudged it in my interview. "What do you know about osteopathy?" always catches me off guard. Do you want me to cite Gevit's
The DOs ? Do you want me to tell you why Im in love with Osteopathy? That of course is my problem and not theirs.
Hopefully the MCAT won't be my downfall and me letter of intent will better showcase my dedication to osteopathic medicine.
