We Can't Tell You Who WWe Are: Animorphs Game Thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Well, this train is going nowhere fast. I'm an EON seer ability. I seerd Lupes last night and she did nothing.
Do you mean tracker?

I'm stuck in hawk-form and I have super sharp eyesight, so I can watch one player EON. I'm a seer and I'm about to be lynched. @Lupin21 can you corroborate that I seerd you last night?

Sorry, seer =/= watching. I'm not using the right terminology but I am still useful.

This doesn't seem to jive with what the opening post said abou morphing roles though, so I am still a little wary of this claim

Maybe the mods will let me do a write-up.

Of course, I don't know the source material.

But that might make it more amusing.

WOW that escalated quickly.

I missed the train. Whoops (but I'll hold off judgement until we find out if hmoo is really a wolf or not)

Throughout the universe, Helmacrons are known for two things: their tiny size, and their gigantic egos. Lovers of grandiose plans and extreme claims, they travel the worlds in their toy-sized spaceships, promising retribution to any who dare oppose or mock them. They are very rarely successful. For example, let's just say that, on Earth, they didn't enjoy discovering anteaters...

...anyway. Helmacrons are interesting creatures because they act as a colony together, and killing one Helmacron does very little; the rest simply absorb their comrades' thoughts into the masses. So take a bit of solace in that, at least.

Squashed is @hazelmoo, the Helmacron - a villager who could use her species' advanced technology to determine if someone held the ability to morph each evening.

It is now Night 2. Night will close at 5amish EST. Please try and get your actions in tonight.

I dunno. Tobias description fits. Guess we'll find out soon enough. Players, please learn how to show up, defend yourself with time left on the clock, and don't just drop your name and ability as your first and only line of defense. You know why wolves have won all these past games? Because we lynch a villager with last minute scrambling and wolves fill their spreadsheet with all the reveals.

I'm sorry, I should have been on earlier. I didn't know any other way to effectively defend myself without giving up my role.

Yeah, I just don't know about the being stuck in the morphed form thing, since the OP seemed to indicate it was two nights on, one night off. Literally remember nothing about the series though so being stuck might fit, idk.

Doubt it would have helped this late, but you defend yourself by how you play and analyzing other players and offering thoughts. Also takes people learning how to interpret what is said without requiring a full reveal to decide on their vote. Any who, this has been rehashed many times so that is all I will say.

it's literally part of that character's story.

so yeah, he stays morphed and it makes a ton of sense

Maybe I'm being the Devils advocate here, but....

Wouldn't a player stuck in a morph be unable to communicate? Like oh, say, a few people we know on the thread thus far?

That was a theory at some point I believe. I wouldn't mind a looker loo into that.

Crapcrap, sorry, I ate dinner and totally missed lynch...smooth.

Tobias, in the story, is forever(?) stuck in hawk form. I think if you are in morph for more than a couple hours you are in danger of becoming "stuck" in the form (hence the game mechanic of the morphing roles). It's been a very, very long time since I read any part of the series, but this character is one of the few major things I remember.

FWIW, I used a like code to communicate with STL last night. He liked a post signaling he was willing to answer questions, liked a post signaling he couldn't PM, and didn't like the post I gave for him to signal that he was Tobias. Either he isn't Tobias or he didn't want to reveal.

At end of night, I received an item called "Call to the gods". It let me ask the mods one question about game mechanics during the day, with the answer revealed at lynch close.

Question: how many players were wolves at the start of this game?

Answer: There were 0 wolves at the start of the game, but there were wolf leaning players.

We may need to rethink our strategy. At least to me, "wolf-leaning" sounds like autoconverts.

Thanks! Went to look for animals morphed into letters, decided that wasn't distinctive enough, then got a little crazy and decided to try and make a book cover. I had no idea there were so many no-background pictures of toucans on the Web

This is very damning of STL or pbc.

Hmph. If there were 0 wolves at the start of the game, having a day 1 lynch is kind of mean :p
There's always chaos or some other weird faction, I guess. Worth thinking about for whoever gets the Call to the gods next.

As in assuming for now that STL is NOT Tobias, based on what he communicated. I added the disclaimer that STL could just have decided not to answer that question, as I was basically asking for a role reveal n1. How is that damning?

Someone look at STL's avatar and figure out if it means anything, I don't have time
Great idea! I hadn't noticed he'd changed it. His avatar is the Ellmist, or at least the picture Tv Tropes uses for the Ellmist.

The Ellmist is the omnipotent good god-like being that is trying to help the Animorphs indirectly. The Ellmist tries to promote the development of sentient species. He is opposed by the Crayak, who is an equally powerful but evil being that wants everything to die (if my skimming is accurate). The two of them are playing a "game" where neither of them can interact directly with the pieces (Yeerks, Animorphs) without drawing repercussions from the other side.
