WWhat a Normal, Boring, Everyday Vet Clinic - Game Thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
So I'm the veterinarian (obviously). It's super fun! Y'all should try it! 😉

I wanted to go back to these!
I know Trilt said don't focus on roles, but what do we think the wolf roles might look like? Maybe patients with contagious diseases that spread throughout the clinic View attachment 215630
I have several theories:

1. Wolf pack is less related to illnesses and more so things like "owner who doesn't have money for treatment", "breeder who thinks you are an idiot", etc
2. They are illness related, but only certain villagers are impacted by a microbe-related ailment and we can figure out wolves based on that. However, this begins to lead to the possibility of tied roles.

Your first point made me giggle, I can totally see that scenario, "Cdo went to the owners with her treatment plan, but the the owner's breeder recommended an organic supplement instead so they left, so and so died"

I don't think it's diseases.

I think it's owners, or vets (mayor aside), or ... hm.
I'm thinking they're disease/ disorder based, because I can run a diagnostic test on a player every day. So this is gonna be an educational game (and I've basically thrown myself into the books already). So let's have some fun and save some villagers!

Good to know, do you think you could use this to help identify wolves? If they're diseases you wouldn't be able to run tests, so it'd come up faulty?

I've been in classes all day and only on here intermittently, and tonight I need to focus on studying for anatomy (I know, I know, real life doesn't matter in WW). Tomorrow I'll have time to stop and smell the roses, I plan on reading through to see who hasn't checked in yet or has just posted a lynch vote and nothing more, I suspect that early on we'll have some wolves hiding under the radar.

Hiding under the radar isn't strictly "not posting". It's generally avoiding any sort of committed move, claim, etc. So posting inconsequential stuff and not being willing to get a lynch vote out there ... that's hiding under the radar. You're suspicion about wolves hiding under the radar is probably correct - at least one or two of them would be. It's just that that's exactly what you're doing. 🙂

Honestly - I really don't care how you play. I'm just trying to use my typical methods to figure out who is who, and finding the time to post "hey, I'm busy" (like MJ did a few times) without anything meaningful, like a lynch vote, always strikes me as sketchy. Don't take it personally, 'cause it's not.

I would think so? I'm not entirely sure though. So I've basically been compling a list of general diagnostic tests to run- she said it has to be within the normal realm of diagnostic tests the average vet would have (so no MRI's or fancy surgeries).

Interesting, so it is kinda similar to the immuno game. So would the wolves be the diseases themselves, or the patients with certain diseases like I mentioned earlier? So you choose the type of test and the player to run it on?

I dunno. I do it every day, and it's kinda less fun than I had hoped most days. Pretty cool other days, but....

That makes me think it might be healthy animals/pets that are wolves.

Is there a reason you are posting flowers?

Actually, I think you're going to be even happier when you find out my role.

Trilt's "RNG" dice were clearly a little loaded.... 🙂
I don't know if we're venturing into LA or equine, but if we are, $5 says LIS is the jump/ tease mare.:laugh:🤣🤣

Agree to disagree, I've been on here as much as I can (probably more than I should be) trying to figure out the structure of the game at this point. It's day one, nobody can really make a committed move/claim at this point (unless they're STL 😉). I think wolves early on would be far more likely to either not post or just post a lynch vote and little else. But I've never been a wolf, so what do I know.

I don't follow.

1) If villagers are sick pets; and

2) If she can run diagnostics on players, she can find *healthy* animals as well as sick animals; then

3) She can effectively differentiate wolves from villagers.

But that's a huge stretch. I still think wolves might be owners or some other human entity. And just because a bunch of people seem to be implying villagers are animals, it doesn't mean all villagers are. And ... etc.

Just speculation.

I'm on OB until next Friday, so sometimes I've got lots of time, sometimes I'm knee deep in placenta and amniotic fluid for eight hours at a clip. If the game lasts a while though, I'll be very active after that.

Remind me not to give birth wherever you are. As much as I want to meet other SDNers, I feel like that would be an intro I wouldn't live down.

(But in all seriousness, @LadyOtheFarm come check in and comment - you have pretty good reads usually.)

I choose to take this as a huge compliment and you get to be my favorite person this game!😍

Ok all, I have been at work all day... and that has taken a turn for the interesting... but I digress. I am here for just a little bit while I get my now 2 flat tires fixed. (Had to pull them off the SUV and drive them into town in the vehicle that doesn't really have brakes anymore. Still, good thing we didn't sell the car this weekend as planned!)

Um, after reading through your shenanigans this morning, I am gonna vote to

Lynch Lyra

If there is any type of villager code in this game (only works if all villagers are similar to me 😉) someone has violated it. Did Trilt say not to trust villager code? I know STL games intentionally mess with it.

(only on break for a few more minutes, so if someone responds to that comment and I don't reply right away I'm not intentionally absent)

Trilt didn't have time to mess with villager code this game. I would personally trust the ideas behind what could be construed as a villager code, but I also know that trilt could simply rectify it by providing information to the wolves, to make it obsolete. so I am like 70:30 trusting it

Lynch Pippy because allergies iz a bad
Pippy was pretty good in the last game, I'd like to keep her around for a bit.

Also for those voting Lyra, seems she has a post restriction, and I don't think I've ever seen anyone with a legit post restriction be a wolf (though definitely some self imposed post restrictions have been wolfy). Speaking of, I though dvmd was supposed to get all the post restriction roles! Right dvmd? Why don't you tell us a story! 😉

@Trilt can you start a spectator chat??😍 I'd do it myself but I can only add 5 people and there were more than 5 on the sign up thread who had interest (plus raf from on here)
Ill even make it super easy and give you the names😛 (I think I got them all)
There was skiotter, raf2769, zensing, snowshoedog143, allyphoe, cheathac, trashpanda, Doctor-s, Amgoose319, Kam325 (i assume since she can't play anymore she'd want to be in on the spectator chat?), meathead (i mean, probably, since she was too busy to play this one) and then you and finny

Edited to add ally and tpainda

@amgoose319 your settings do not allow me to add you to chats.

Missing anyone else?

Can someone explain what a villager code is?

sent from ma fone
If all the villagers have the same phrasing or wording in their role then they can use it (only once!) to prove they are village. Unless the wolves know the code or any other number of options that make it semi worthless.

I'm behind in this thread atm (see the "rant" thread for a little tidbit from my day), so I might be missing something, but I'm curious where you're getting this from.

Speaking of roles, cdo's post about her role sounded pretty cool when I skimmed the responses earlier. There was something similar in the immuno game, yes? Cdo, was there any guidance on what kinds of tests you can run, or do you get to pick?

I thought posting restriction too, but then she stopped posting flowers, so I doubted it.

Seems like every post has a picture of a flower or text related to flowers. Could be wrong but it's be weird if she was just doing it randomly.

Aww shoot, how do I change that?

Edit: I did a thing. I don't know if it was the right thing, but try now.
