Something about @capri1722 and @ddstothecor is bugging me. Capri had no real reason (not in the same PM group, no history of playing together as far as I know) to vote for dds besides dds jokingly saying that he thought being tenderized would be fun. It wouldn't be bothering me as much if dds had voted for himself first and capri went with it, but the sequence of events; dds saying he might like to get tenderized, capri being the first to vote for him, and then dds voting for himself, just seems wonky.

I'd vote here, but I need more data/content from both of you so I can evaluate.

Hey everybody!

It has not escaped my notice that WW games have been growing increasingly contentious as of late. I know sometimes we disagree (and disagree passionately), but these games are about having something fun to do in our free time to blow off some steam. I won't give too much away but I do have a few mechanisms in place this game that are meant to keep things fun and lighthearted for our players. I am always open to suggestions as well.

I will also add that the mod team and I had already been planning to keep an eye on in-thread posts and give warnings to any players being unnecessarily contentious or playing a little too dirty. With that in mind, if you feel any players are being rude or unfriendly please let us know and we will be giving warnings in player PMs.

My number one goal in every game is for the players to have fun. If this is not happening please let us know why and we'll try our best to make changes to keep things fun for you.

If you are worried that this game will involve a lot of spats and on-thread fighting (that is, outside of what is to be expected for WW of course 😉) please know we'll be trying our best as a mod team to keep this to a minimum and don't let your concerns sway you out of playing what I'm hoping will be a fun and playful game.

I really just think the tenderizing it to make game play a little lighter since in a lot of recent games people have quit or actually been bothered by what was posted. I think we will be tenderizing each night, just to lighten the mood. See B/U/I

The bolded was literally 100% of my reasoning for voting that way. I’m pretty sure I explained this once already but before we knew what the tenderizing vote did it was suggested it may be a mayoral vote. I asked what a mayorship does and the answers I got seemed to suggest a throwaway vote would be fine and that it doesn’t kill anyone as a result. I did consider switching to Kara to see what a tie did (still curious, now that we know tenderizing is just lighthearted and fun) but then wasn’t sure if some kind of negative effect would come of it like AM suggested.

If it's unlike her to miss a day, I don't understand why you wouldn't give her the opportunity/benefit of the doubt to be present on the thread today (sub or not) and try and see what her behavior was like. This just came across as a little aggressive to me for a D1 vote. I think it's pretty well known that lynching the "quiet" players only sometimes works in the village's favor.

If thats the case, why did you wait until after Capri voted for you to vote for yourself? Why not just vote for yourself in your first post?

Umm what? These were the answers you got:

When I was mayor, players had to give me an item/ability as toll to move into a different group. In the SEGA game, the mayor got a one-shot seering ability. And in Trilt's most recent game, the mayor had the first item and got to choose who could have it next. So, in short, it varies by game what they may gain.

I don't know what ELI5 is...but sometimes they get special abilities, sometimes they don't. I've seen them be the tie breaker in lynches that end with ties, I've seen them get a special piece of game mechanic info from the mods, I've seen their lynch votes be counted as two, etc. Or like I said sometimes nothing special happens.

Granted they both say that the mayor vote could mean squat, but a majority of what was presented to you points to the mayor vote being a good thing for the player that gets it. So how did you reach the conclusion that a "throwaway vote" on someone who you supposedly don't know is a wolf or villager was a good idea? And with everyone strategizing over what would make a good mayor and trying to logically pick someone, you didn't pick up that throwaway voting for mayor might not be a good idea?

I'm not sure why everyone is equating me voting for Trilt early today as wanting her deaded immediately. I wanted to hear her participate, because like I said, ghosting is so out of her meta its disgusting. I'm also pro-lynching quiet players in general (as is she) because wolf or village they don't help the village by being absent. Since when is a single lynch vote on someone who has no other votes on them (and not even advocating for others to lynch her as well, I'm not looking for a bandwagon here) "aggressive"? It's called playing the game, and if a lynch vote is what it takes to get her talking then that's how I'll get her talking.

I also never buy the "asking for a sub" on thread gambit because I've definitely either done or considered doing that on thread before (while confirming with mods in private that I did not want or need a sub) in order to ghost without repercussions. Now that it's been "confirmed" by VMH I'm more willing to believe that she really is asking for a sub and absent for other reasons.

As to who else I find sketchy, getting a bit annoyed with pipsqueak but that happens as villa or wolf (actually moreso as villa so more willing to put her in that category), youngkal gave me a twingy yesterday that made me want to go check the previous game they played - were they a wolf that got caught super early or did I make that up?, I already mentioned you previously and had a delightful tinfoil hat theory on you I shared with the mods but with MJ flipping green your sketchiness factor has gone down, Dubz is giving me the willies, and cray is being her usual self which means I have no idea what is lurking there.

I was lynched on D1. Based on LIS and Pippy. And i couldn’t clearly explain why i was going to lynch pippy so people just jumped on. I think i had like 3 posts non game related that people used to vote for me. But what did i do yesterday that made you twingy. I am skeptical of you now because I’ve been a target by the wolves in the last game pretty early on.

Great question. I hate D1 lynches bc it's particularly hard for me to read people. Vets have the advantage on D1 bc they can extrapolate from other games they've played with the same people. Me, not so much. And as aforementioned, I hate nit picking.

I think it was your tone that came across as aggressive to me. And I know it's hard to read tone online but you didn't mention it just being a pressure vote with possible waffling once she/her sub spoke up; you sounded pretty darn serious about lynching her. Thanks for confirming this, as I was reading I was wondering why some people were assuming it would be the same. In that case,

Tenderize MJ, of course Cray sounds like she could use it too, but just a toss-up.

I don't have strong feels for anyone yet, but I'm gonna go with lynch KC, that vote for Trilt feels weird. No, it's not like Trilt to ghost, but I know KC knows that sometimes vets have unexpectedly super busy days, that's life. I can't remember if it's normal for KC to be this defensive. I could also go for Ski (sorry, Mom), that argument with Cray over nicknames was annoying and weird, but at the same time not unlike her.

Kara seems more active. Pips is slightly sketching me out, but I think that is pretty normal early game. WZ is not sketching me out which is not normal. I don't really understand the kc votes or why finn is sketchy to people. Allie is putting more pressure on people and asking questions which I think she did last game so not unusual. mel, AM and cray aren't particularly ringing any bells right now. Sporty needs to talk more, she just kinda had a thowaway tenderizing vote since no one was voting for wz.
