Hi! I am just getting a little nervous about the upcoming cycle and could appreciate some feedback.
I am a black female, graduating from uni this year, applying in June, and doing a competitive 1 year research postbacc during my gap year.
MCAT: 507 GPA 3.86. Hoping to apply to 15 MD schools...
So...hi guys. After lurking on this page for quite some time I finally find myself needing to post for some advice on MCAT vs. clinical experience. For some background, I just graduated this past May 2021 with a cGPA of 3.78 and started working as a clinical assistant at a dermatology practice...
Howdy y'all!
I'm a freshman, and I'm planning out my degree right now to get all my prerequisites for the MCAT in time for me to take it my junior year. The only problem I have is that I really want to join a student organization on campus that requires a lot of dedication, which is really only...
"Venous blood pH is approximately 7.2. Given that pka1 for H2CO3 is 6.4 and pka2 for H3PO4 is 7.1...which of the following relationships is not true about the concentrations of various species in venous blood?"
The answer is that H2PO4-is not in greater concentration than HPO42- in venous...
So I'm finishing up my masters at Rutgers Biomed, however, I came in as premed. GPA has been a 4.0 but due to undergrad and copious credits I took, it only brings it up to above a 3.4. I'm Asian so if I continue w/ medicine I'm most likely going to osteopathic school. I'm not okay with becoming...

Hi Everyone!
Couldnt find much information about this so I need some help!! Currently have a 2.8 cgpa with a not so good trend. I was able to get a 518 MCAT and have pretty good EC’s. Was looking into DIY post bacc but to be honest, can’t afford it. Was hoping for an SMP somewhere but do you...
I'm so conflicted on when to take my MCAT. I'm currently a senior and im taking a gap year. Ideally, I would take the mcat in january to leave time to retake in case it doesn't go well but my pre-med advisor highly suggested that I push it to april so I did.. but I feel so nervous about it...
Hi all,
Looking for some guidance on what to do moving forward. I’m in my final year of undergrad and recently got my MCAT score back (518). I have an LM 75.9 and WARS 85, conservatively. The 2017 WARS doc gave me an S level rating and recommended I make 45% of my applications to Category 1...
Hey everyone,
I'm planning on applying to medical school this upcoming cycle. I've been doing my due-diligence and have a good GPA, will apply with good ECs, been working on getting my LORs, etc.
This really leaves me with one last major hurdle besides actually applying to medical school and...
Hi everyone! I'm starting my content review for the MCAT which I'm planning to take on January 21st. I'm thinking about doing 1-2 passages 6 days a week. What do you guys recommend I do? What resources do you all recommend? Thank you so much
How to Read an MCAT Science Passage
When the new MCAT was introduced in 2015, our company became a teaching workshop and development incubator. Our previous course, WikiPremed, had specialized in interdisciplinary methods for the old exam, so we were uniquely poised to help our students with...
I took the MCAT in May 2021 and was disappointed to receive my score of 498. However, after talking to a friend in med school (she got a 500) I decided to still apply to a few schools (DO and MD) this cycle because the rest of my application is strong. I know that if I do not get in this cycle...
Would love adcom insight on this @Goro @gyngyn @LizzyM @gonnif @Faha and others-
Do schools that claim they have an MCAT blind interview selection process really mean that? this is only anecdotal, but I'm a reapplicant and am applying with a substantially higher score this year than last year...
Hi everyone, I'm a current senior finishing my undergrad in neuroscience with a 2.9 GPA. Outside of my academics, I volunteer in local hospitals as a patient ambassador/greeter (over 250 hours so far), I write for the newspaper (mainly science and art-related articles), and I like to take online...
I am taking my MCAT next summer, I plan on applying in 2023, I will also be in school full time until the summer, and I am taking a longer than normal time to study because I have ADHD, and I know I will need it. I just bought the 12-month blueprint online course. Am also looking at Uworld...
Hey guys, I’m sure many of you are sick and tired of seeing pots like this but just need to for my own sake and sanity through this. I have a 3.44 cGPA and a 3.33 sGPA with an upward trend. 1000+ total hours with research, shadowing, clinical volunteering etc. I have a fifth author pub and a...
I am selling these TBR books that I purchased in October of 2020. Scored 90%+ on CP and BB with these books so they are really worth the money!
Condition: No marking/highlights. like new.
Price: $250 (Original price including shipping was around $320). Can ship or can pick up if you are in the...
I got a 504 (126/124/124/130) on the 6/26 7:30AM exam and I'm devastated. What's crazy to me is that I felt so much better compared to my first exam coming out. I thought I had done so well on C/P and CARS. I stupidly brought a watch out on break, so they had to pause my exam for 10 minutes...
When reading about the scholarship,
I typically read that 500 (124 minimum on each section) is the minimum to receive the scholarship.
If I am below that minimum MCAT, but above average on GPA with good EC’s, could I still receive the scholarship if I get an acceptance letter?
Thanks!
I have done some research and think using different resources for different subjects would be a good idea.
What I have found so far is that the Berkley Review for chem and physics, I found Reddit flashcard for psych and sociology, kaplan for biochem, and review exam cracker.
Is there any other...
Is it possible to apply prior to receiving my MCAT score? I bumped my test date to Sept. 3rd and will receive my scores (hopefully) late September, early October. Is it possible to apply with the rest of my application in August when the cycle opens?
Hi,
life has been hectic lately and I feel like I should push my MCAT date to August so that I am 100% prepared. Do people think this will be too late?
I know this cycle is a little different since there are schools that aren't requiring the MCAT (or at least some are not giving admission...
So I have recently decided to push my exam back. My exam is scheduled for June 30th but I am still yet to break 500 (my highest score was 497). I know that it is too late for me to raise my score so I plan on pushing it back or canceling it. When it comes to content I find that I struggle with...
Hello everyone! I recently got accepted to medical school and do not need my Princeton Review online course anymore. It has served me well and helped me get a 514, but since Im done with it I decided to sell it it for les than a third of the price I got it for to whoever wants it. It goes for...
Has anyone gone through the process to get accomodations to pump breast milk during the MCAT? I'm fine pumping during the 30 minute break but AAMC Accomodations suggested applying for accomodations otherwise they can't guarantee a private room for me to pump in. I have to follow the guidelines...

Hello, I had a question about the application of physics on the MCAT. For questions should I take into account homeostatic mechanisms when answering or should I solely be applying Physics equations/theories?
For example, with the cardiovascular system they might ask a question about blood flow...

I was working through the KA videos and I worked rather well with the videos. I've been mainly using Kaplan books for my studying/review and KA as a supplement but following this realization, I've been considering using KA as my main study source and Kaplan as a supplement but I'm rather...
What to do?
Hello!
Used to be on this sub for advice, but shut down my reddit account cause the distraction was real! How are all of you? hope your studying has been going good!. I recently finished all of the Kaplan books (besides cars), and made the mistake of pushing back my date till...
Hey guys! Apologies for the long post.
I am just starting to study for an MCAT retake. To give you a little background, I took the NextStep free diagnostic on 4/12 while I was still in classes and got a 495 (ouch, I know). I began studying full time on May 4th using a new study method once my...
See the attached.
The AAMC is being sued in California Superior Court for libel.
The lawsuit alleges the AAMC publishes scores about test-taking consumers to third parties (like veterinary, podiatric and osteopathic medical schools) without any standardized process to prove CARS answers as...
I am currently set to retake the MCAT on June 18th. I originally took it in July of 2018 and got a 513 (cGPA was 3.61, BCPM GPA was 3.47). I did not receive any acceptances in the two years that I applied and am attempting to apply again. However, I am not sure how I should go about submitting...
I have decided to bump my MCAT test date back to allow more time to study. I don't feel comfortable moving forward. Is it possible to secure another test date without cancelling my current one? I'd hate to cancel and then not have another test date available.
Hi friends,
I need your help! So I’m aiming to take the MCAT exam by next spring by May-June 2022. I recently graduated and will be doing a formal post-baccalaureate program this coming year. I won’t be working AT ALL. I really want to ace all my postbac courses, and dedicate as much time...
