I know this thread is filled with posts like the one I'm about to write, but I going to do it anyway.

3.73gpa, 37S mcat, decent ECs. And no news from Drexel as of today. I was complete as of 8/13/08. The admissions person on the phone told me that there was no way for her to know if I might be called for an interview.

How long do they interview until? I'm just trying to gauge if I should still hope for this one, or pack up and move on.

Thank you fellow SDNers.

Your MCAT is 7 points above average for Drexel, your GPA is also above average. It's possible that they don't offer you interview because they don't think you'll end up going to their school anyway. If you have a particular interest in Drexel (such as PBL), I would definitely let them know.

So today officially marks seven weeks after my Drexel interview. Still no word. My status page STILL reads "your interview has been scheduled."

When if it all is it appropriate to call the admissions office to ask about my status? I don't want to be annoying and ruin whatever slim chance I have of scoring an acceptance. On the other hand, this wait is treacherous.

I fear waitlist. 🙁

UPDATE:
As of a few minutes ago, my status page was updated to the following:

Your fileis currently under review by the admissions committee. No decision has yet been made regarding your admission status to Drexel university.

If I recall correctly from earlier posts, this means waitlist pre interview. But what does it mean after an interview?

it means your file is being reviewed...

For those of you who stayed at the Student Guest House, was there internet access? Were you allowed to return there after the interview?

Thank you!

If this is true, then they started reviewing my file a whopping seven weeks after I interviewed? That doesn't seem right.

I feel like my application has already been under review these last 7 weeks; they just recently decided on me and this message is a nice way of saying something else... i.e. waitlist. Or perhaps I'll end up like one of those students who never hears back from a school until August or something.

😕 Confused and slightly pessimistic.

they are probably backlogged. It could be a number of things, including waiting for interviewer feedback and stuff like that. If it says your under review... your under review. It wouldn't make any sense to have that message as your code for waitlist/rejection

I suppose that makes sense... my physician interviewer did seem kind of disorganized. One of those "all over the place" kind of guys--office was a mess, somewhat distracted during the entire interview.

I'll just have to keep waiting. Thanks for the input.

That depends entirely on who is hosting you. Some people have internet, some people don't. Some people don't even have TVs, so beware

Going back to their place depends on them as well. Did you get contact information for them yet?

I've been complete here since 8/19. My online status still says "no decision has been reached..." Has anyone called the admissions office re: interview invites with any success?

"A final decision has been reached and a letter will be mailed to your preferred address."

QTLyss--you were right. One day later I got this.

Crossing my fingers the mailman brings good news...

just to give you idea of how it took the letter to reach me, i got the "final decision" status a week ago thursday, and i just got my acceptance letter this morning. i live in chicago, but no mail was delivered tues because of veterans day so itll probably take about a week to get to you!

Dang...

I live in Philly but, judging from your waiting period, I doubt that will make much of a difference.

This waiting game just drags and drags on, doesn't it?😴

I interviewed back in early October and my status page has not changed since I scheduled the interview. Does anyone else have this? What is the longest anyone has taken to hear post-interview?

Hi again, I am also still waiting. I guess we were the unlucky buried-in-paperwork group... either that or they just hate us.

so i called the other day about my no decision status , to be like oh heyyyy what's going on with my application? has it been reviewed? not reviewed ?

my answer: sorry, there is no decision.

🙁 boooo.

hurryupnwait: log into the secondary application place and you should see a link that says application status

So I know I'm being impatient and all, but I was complete Sept 30th. Have people who were complete around then heard anything? Just trying to get an idea of their time frame, and there weren't that many people on the interview list to look at

I was complete on 9/25 and received my interview offer on 11/4.

Patience! The way this whole application process works is a really huge mystery and just because you haven't heard anything yet doesn't mean you won't receive an interview. hang in there...

haha, same with me. complete since 8/20, i think it means a silent rejection perhaps?

So I interviewed on October 8th...and today is the official '6th weeek period' upon which my decision is supposed to be made. For anyone that interviewed, what was turnaround time like? Was it in that 6-8 week period? Am I neurotic if I call today asking about a decision?...this waiting is absolutely killing me.

I called a couple times around that period... today is officially 8 weeks post-interview for me and still no decision. I was worried maybe my application fell off the table and is under a desk somewhere. I e-mailed Dr. Hanau and she did not e-mail back. As far as calling, the guy at the front desk doesn't seem to have anymore info. than you do by looking at ur status page. When I asked to speak to an admissions counselor, I was told there were none.

I have seen others have a much shorter turn-around time on these threads and such. Good luck!!!

i interviewed the week of oct 13 and got an acceptance last week... I hope that helps.

I interviewed on October 13th and was accepted on October 27th. I'm sure it depends on where your interview falls in relation to when the committee meets...

I just called the admissions office to check on my status because on my status page it doesn't say complete or incomplete or anything, however it shows that my fee and supplemental were paid/finalized on 8/12/08.

Conversation that ensued:

Guy at office: "Well did you check the site?"
Me: "Yes I clicked on view status and it simply told me when I created an account but nothing other than that"
Guy: "Does it say complete?"
Me: "No, but on the myapplication page it says ....(cut off)
Guy: "Well we don't have your fee or supplemental, you need to email XXX"
Me: "Oh really? On my page it is saying I completed my supplemental and paid the fee on 8/12/08 but I don't know if that means complete...(cut off)
Guy: "Just email her.."
Me: "Oh, okay.. thank you."

So aside from the guy being kind of a jerk, it turns out I haven't been complete since August 12, when I submitted everything, and the only way I found this out was by calling. So if any one else feels like they have been waiting a long time for no status update, I would call to make sure they have everything.

Interviewed at Drexel today. I liked it a lot, especially the PIL (PBL) curriculum. I can totally see myself here.

More later.

Interviewed on 9/25, final decision made on 11/13, today still no letter from them. How long does it takes for the letter to come? Also has any one here get rejection letter after interview? It would be nice to know if it is an acceptance so I can cancel Albany interview.

Loon, I interviewed at Drexel last Thursday and I felt the same way ... now we wait. How did your interview go?

Complete August 20 and no word...This is really burning my cannolis

Have you tried calling them?

was interviewed nov. 13th. did anyone interview that week? and if so have some sort of "decision made" status update. im still in review...

Both interviews went pretty well, I have the sick feeling that, at one point, I said "Temple" instead of "Drexel." That would be bad.

I only got to meet two of the faculty, but they were both very enthusiastic. My interviewer was a PhD who only works with residents (and does some very interesting research), so I didn't really feel like anyone was selling the school to me until we had the talk about PIL.

For those wondering, the facilities, to the best of my ability to tell, are very good and the interviews are not at all stressful. There is a short writing sample, and I have no idea what, if any, weight it has. I also use too many commas.

How did your interviews go?

How did your interviews go?

I think both of my interviews went well, though it was hard to tell with the faculty member sometimes. I guess I will know for sure in 6-8 weeks 🙄. Overall I think I did well, and I agree with you that the interviews were not very stressful. As with you, both of my interviewers were very enthusiastic about Drexel, especially the faculty interviewer ... we talked for a while about Drexel University (not just the med. school), what he liked about it, and what he thought set it apart as compared to other Philly schools, which was interesting.

I wouldn't stress too much about the possible Drexel/Temple slip-up ... there's not much you can do about it at this point even if you did mix them up. Just hope for the best!:xf:

Furby, I interviewed the same day and I currently have the following message: "Your interview has been scheduled. If you've appeared for the interview, please allow 6 - 8 weeks for a final decision."

I interviewed October 8th as well Day Man, you probably don't remember me but I was the guy that kept commenting on awkward silences haha

yeah no news here either, though from what I gather it takes around 8 weeks, 6 weeks is just a possibility

thanks casca! small world. i think i sat next to you when we first walked into the room? good luck!

Shriken, I do remember you, we actually had the same interviewer. I went right after you.

Anyway...I really liked this school, and just want a decision. The whole rush to get your apps in then wait 8 weeks after an interview is starting to grind my gears...oh well.

wait that's strange, i have...

"Your file is currently under review by a member of the admissions committee and will be sent to committee shortly. No decision has yet been made regarding your admission status to Drexel University."

bizarre
