hey all,

anyone who received a final decision already from drexel (post-interview),
did your status page say "final decision made" or something to that effect?

mine still says, please wait 6-8 wks for a final decision if you already interviewed.

granted, it has only been 4.5 wks but i interviewed the second day of interviews and have been hearing ppl getting decisions. just wondering!

mine said, a decision has been made and will be mailed to your address, for about a week, then i got an acceptance on Saturday. I don't really remember what it said before that but i think it was left on 'no decision' until that change happened.
 
thanks. i guess i don't have to check my mail anxiously every day then, huh?

perhaps i am on some silent type of waitlist/rejection, or maybe they just haven't gotten to my app.

I interviewed here in early october and my status page hasnt changed since I was first invited for the interview. Anyone else have this?

Same here, interviewed on Oct 3rd: no change yet.
 
I interviewed October 1st and live (literally) 5 minutes from the campus...my decision was made according to the status site, but I have yet to receive any kind of snail mail correspondence.

It will usually take a week or so from that time you get the status update to the time the letter arrives. If it's been more than a week, you could give them a call, but just sit tight and it'll come.

Ok, cool. I was in your interview group. Looks like they just haven't gotten to us. Anyone w/ a post 10/3 interview who has had their status change?
 
I interviewed Oct 10th, status changed on Monday to decision made, check your permanent address.

Interviewed on October 8th, status changed about 10-11 days ago, but have not received anything yet 😕
 
When you guys say that your "status have changed" online, do they tell you online whether or not you are accepted, or they just say online that they mailed out a decision? I interviewed 10/23. Thanks.

It'll just say that a decision has been made. You'll have to wait for the mail to arrive.
 
Hi everyone. I'm a first-time poster. I think now is a ripe time to jump into the SDN game.

I interviewed on Sept 26th, the first week they offered interviews. My status has not changed from the "Your interview has been scheduled" notification.

I noticed some other SDN-ers who interviewed in early October have already received acceptance packages. Forgive the naivete of my first-ever SDN post, but I'm getting anxious--does this mean I'm waitlisted? Or are they just not sold on me yet?

Anyone else interview during the last week of September?
 
I interviewed the last week of September and just got this update:

Your file is currently under review by a member of the admissions committee and will be sent to committee shortly. No decision has yet been made regarding your admission status to Drexel University.

It just means they haven't made a decision yet. If they'd rejected or waitlisted you, you'd have gotten the status update saying a decision has been made. It's tough, but you've got to wait it out.
 
Here are Drexel's 2007 Admission Stats according to US N&WR:

Total:
8073 applied
1759 interviewed (21.8% interviewed)
711 accepted (40.4% of interviewees accepted)
280 enrolled

Instate:
790 applied
391 interviewed (49.5% interviewed)
228 accepted (58.3% of interviewees accepted)
93 enrolled

OOS:
7283 applied
1368 interviewed (18.8% interviewed)
483 accepted (35.3% of interviewees accepted)
187 enrolled

You should be aware that in 2007 Drexel over-accepted and that's why they have 280 people enrolled. They are trying to keep the class at 255, so those numbers are slightly inflated. This shouldn't discourage you, of course. It's just something to note.
 
Does anyone know the proportion of people who get accepted, waitlisted, and rejected? For example, do they waitlist a ton of people and then a lot of those people get accepted in the end? Or when my snail mail finally comes will it most likely be either accept/reject (not waitlist)?

They waitlist folks just like everyone else. Last year they didn't start accepting from the waitlist for a while though, and even when they did it was very slow going. Nobody can really say for sure how it'll move this year.
 
i called yesterday and they said that my file is STILL being reviewed, even though i was complete 8/20. i just hope they are waiting for interview slots to open up because i would LOVE to go to drexel!!!

You should be happy that they deem your file worthy of continued review. If they were going to reject you immediately, it would have happened by now. 😀

o really! nice, thanks that makes me feel good. i actually was visiting my sister in philly, so i got the opportunity to check out drexel while i was there ... so hopfully, fingers crossed next week will bring some good news for me. and just a general thanks to you for all the helpful info you have provided on this thread

I feel as though this question may have been asked already, and I remember them telling us on interview day, but does anyone know what day of the week the admissions committee meets to discuss applicants?
 
Drexel put me on "pre-interview hold" last week, so I sent them and all my other schools an LOI making a case for why they should interview me. I did get an interview--but not at Drexel. @#$$^&#$*(.

i just checked my status and it said something like 'thanks for your application. your file will be reviewed later and for a final decision to be made."... does that mean i've been put on hold? 😕 does anyone else have this same status?

i'm still waiting for some signs of life over there at drexel. i've been complete since 9/5 and haven't heard a peep

ahh i dont have the exact date me, but it was in mid september sometime if that helps 🙁

and btw are you out of state? does that have anything to do with it?

it's weird how people complete after me already have their decisions, it seems like this happens to me at sooo many schools ... i'm really confused about the whole rolling admissions process

I hear ya- I've been complete since 9/14, but my status has not changed. I'll take it as a good sign though; it's not a rejection or a hold!
 
i have been completely since mid-august. it says i have "no decision made yet" or whatever, and I am kind of wondering what the deal is. I'm assuming they have seen my application already.. ? Am i on hold ? ugh the silence is deafening

Hang in there. As long as they haven't made a decision, you're still in the running. Have you considered sending an update or a letter of interest? It may help sway the committee if they're currently on the fence.

yeah, i actually did sent them an update letter telling them about my volunteering and other things.. i am just trying to sit tight. the only reason i am nervous is because i have heard that people who were really rejected just had their status say "no decision made" until like august of the application cycle..
 
I dont know if this helps anyone, but i interviewed Oct. 16 and received my acceptance today. i dont remember when was the change in the website.

Congrats. I don't know what they're doing this year, but I never received any additional materials after getting the interview. Just show up and do your thing. Good luck.
