of the people who were saying that the decision was made...
did anyone hear back yet??

Nothing here yet, i'll let you know when I receive it. I live on the west coast so it may take longer to get here...Good luck to you guys. Praying that this won't be waitlist number 5!

i live in NYC and have not gotten anything yet either.

Hey "joo" that's no good. If you haven't gotten it yet in NY I won't get it till next week!

i interviewed end of october. my status still says "an interview has been scheduled. if you're interviewed please allow 6-8 weeks for a decision" or something to that effect... and apparently that message will change multiple times before a final decision??
the wait is killing me.

I'm in the same boat; interviewed Oct. 6. Do you guys remember who interviewed you? I was interviewed Dr. Chen.

Has anyone been on pre-interview hold here, and not heard back yet? I think I've been on pre-interview hold for about a month at least. What are the odds of an interview this late in the game? (was complete late september)

I interviewed on Nov 19th, and my status has been "in review by a committee member" for about a week and a half. My interview was with Dr. Hanau.

food same here, hold for one/two months now

pre-interview hold 11/4.. no news since

Accepted! I got my letter (large envelope) today at my Massachusetts address. It is my first acceptance and I am absolutely ecstatic!

I interviewed in mid-November and my status changed to "decision mailed" early last week, but was written Dec 23 and postmarked Dec 30.

Best of luck!

I interviewed on Nov 19th as well (with Dr. Ryan) and my status is still the first one - the one about having scheduled my interview. It's just so random. 😕:xf:

Congrats to BASSPLEASE!

i interviewed on 11/13 - n i just got waitlisted 🙁

does anyone know any info about this list? does it help to call ? How do they pick people off if its not ranked?

Oct.8th and now change! 😛

I noticed a couple of people posted that they are under "pre-interview hold." Where do you get this information? Was is emailed to you? I just checked my status online and it just says "complete." Does this=hold at this point? Everything was submitted by the end of sept...

Yeah it's on the status page. On the "application decision popup page" I got the message

Thank you for your application. Your file has been reviewed and will be re-evaluated later in the season for a final decision.

*Sigh* Still no change here. I interviewed 11/07. 🙁

I'm glad to hear that they've finally gotten to your review Shriken. Here's hoping you get a big ACCEPTANCE! 👍

I called on the 31st, the admissions person told me someone was 'dragging their feet' with a review and he would talk to the reviewer. Liked the school during the interview, but the wait is really souring it. That and the price tag.

Finally, I got into a school! After 4 waitlists!!! YESS! Drexel is awesome, congrats to those who got in, good luck to everyone else.

Jtrenier thank you haha! But I was confused as to why you wrote that until I realized I added a "w" to no hahahhaha, but yeah, still "NO" review 😛

Ah thanks found it. Mine just says, "No decision is currently available. Please keep checking this website for updates." slkdfjlsd

For those of you already accepted, did you choose the PIL or the IFM course? I can't believe we only have 21 days to decide...

if you read the acceptance letter closely, checking the box for one or the other is not binding. it's just for their own information purposes (i'd assume so that they can get a rough estimate of how many students are interested in PIL vs IFM). if you want to do the PIL program, you have to apply into it online and your application is reviewed by a different committee.

Same here! What the heck does that mean...is it worse than the one that says it will be reviewed again later?

Hello all. I have decided to withdraw my entrance to Drexel sooner rather than later to hopefully give some others a chance. I was wondering if anybody knows any info on this process. I remember seeing something in the packet they send with acceptance, but I can't seem to find that paper. Anybody have info? Good Luck everyone.

If any of the med students can talk about why they chose one program over the other I'd really appreciate it.

I'm about to do the same. I didn't respond to their original offer and they sent me another letter basically giving me an extension. On the letter it has a spot to mark if you don't want the offer, and they ask you to mail it back. I'm gonna mail mine tomorrow.

I chose IFM and I did it for one simple reason: it's what I'm used to. Medical school is hard, and I had no interest in adding on the challenge of trying to master a new style of learning. I'm very happy with my decision, and the folks that chose PIL are happy too. It's all about how you think you can learn best.

I got waitlisted yesterday ... I called this morning to ask about the wait list and the woman I spoke with told me that the list is ranked. She also said the ranking will take place sometime around march/april.

I just called them today and she said that it basically means it's still under review. And let the waiting game continue 🙄

I read earlier in this thread that the admissions committee meets Thursdays. Anybody know if a "currently under review by the admissions committee" status usually means that the committee will review your app at their next upcoming meeting (tomorrow, in my case), or does it still take a few weeks?? Thanks!

I was completed back in late Oct, and just received my interview invite today. I am from Philly and am very excited but and the next ava date is on the 26th March.... so now my feelings are mixed, happy but helpless. I am concerned that it would be pretty much game over by that late, esp with my low verbal score, I feel that their ultimate decision may not be in my favor.

and I know I should check back frequently to see if anyone changes their dates to get a possible earlier date. but every attempt will generate a cancellation email and a confirmation to hold that very same spot i have if not one drops his/hers. (it will just trouble the admin staff in the office and generate a lot of inconvenience for the staff who schedule interviews. I meant there must be someone or a few in charged of checking if someone changed their schedule and make necessary arrangement to inform their interviewers right? So that is like cancel, confirm, cancel, confirm, endless cycle... omg!! 😱

Should I call them just to ask about the possibility of waiting for an earlier date if someone drops his/her spot? other schools I had interviews scheduled (due to cost issues, too much travel, I tried to compact them together) seemed to be pretty accomodating. How about Drexel? thank you

My status just changed to: "Your file is currently under review by the admissions committee."

I guess this means I will be receiving a letter in the next few weeks.:xf:

If they gave you an interview it is not too late. They don't interview for posterity, they interview if they think they might accept you.

i really hope thats the case.. that they interview b/c they're serious about you. the last two interviews i had went from promising interviews, to disappointing waitlists.... i hope this is the one!

How long did it take for your status to change? Mine has said "No decision is currently available. Please continue checking this website for updates." since August/Sept.

I interviewed 11/07. So it's been exactly 8 weeks and it's just making it to committe.

just to let you know. i asked about interviewing for waitlists and LizzyM herself said that she hadn't heard of it and it appears to be a sdn phenomenon caused by over-anxious premeds. don't worry about things, rock your interview and hopefully get in. good luck!

At the same time, the interviews that MCW is offering now are explicitly for the waitlist.

However, there is no reason to think that Drexel or any other school does this.

i guess i'm not sdn savvy enough, but who is lizzym?

Actually interview for waitlists aren't a myth. I received an invite for interview at MCW last week. The letter explicitly states that the interview is for a waitlist spot.

that is different though to one's that just invite you to interview without stating that, i was referring to ones that premeds just assume is a waitlist just because it's late. if the letter explicitly states it, there obviously is no speculation

I have had my status as "under review by a committee member; no decision" for 3 weeks now 🙁. I am really starting to wonder whats going on with that. Has anyone else had this status for so long?

i interviewed in the beginning of november, and my file is not even in the review process...it still says that if i attended interview, decision will be made in 6-8 weeks...well, it's been definitely longer than 8 weeks, and i almost lost hope...i guess they forgot that they interviewed me...:scared:

I'm sure they haven't forgotten you. If you're worried, why not give them a call or send an update/interest letter?
