Its all good now! Matriculated it is.
thanks guys.
thanks guys.
i called and asked about LOI's and they said they prefer emails. can you see your transcript online? if so just saw it is an image and attach it to the letter you send in.
i was in a similar boat as you.. i really was going to write a LOInterest if i didnt hear from them.. i think just write it however you want but dont say "if you accept me, i will definitely attend"
neither do i.. i have 1.5 years but thats only because my school requires a year of first year english and a lit class at some point later on loloh man i definitely dont have two years of english
hey guys, i just want to make sure i am reading their premeds reqs correctly:
To conform with the requirements of accrediting bodies and the Education Department of the State of New York, the following courses must be included in undergraduate study:
six semester hours = 2 semesters of 3 credits each? (i know they explain what a semester hour is but its still weird. i have never thought about my classes like that)
- Englishsix semester hours* (two years are recommended)
- Inorganic Chemistrya minimum of six semester hours (including laboratory)
- Organic Chemistrya minimum of six semester hours (including laboratory)
- General Physicsa minimum of six semester hours (including laboratory)
- General Biology or Zoologya minimum of six semester hours (including laboratory) *A semester hour is calculated as one hour of classroom or two hours of laboratory work each week for a full semester.
Any idea when the next set of decisions go out ? Interviewed 3rd week of December. Loved the school.
Thanks
Has anyone sent grade updates or know how they want them? Transcripts mailed? Or just an email with my grades?
I thought it was they send out waitlists/rejections AFTER March 3rd... isn't that how non-rolling (which NYU is supposed to be) is?I would suppose so. Why not? I mean correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't see why they wouldn't. They have to send out waitlist and rejections, as well as acceptances by March 3rd.
Looks about right. And yes, two semesters of English does total six credit hours (assuming, like you mentioned, 3 credits per class).
Are you definitely going to NYU? I was just accepted a couple weeks ago and pretty sure that's where I'll be next year.

although i think they decided to be rolling this year.. at least partially.
no, i think acceptances at least will be going out on a rolling basis.does this mean that the next round of decisions will probably go around in march?? (but not before) 😱
yeah, thats what i meant, that acceptances are rolling but rejections/WL will be non-rolling.no, i think acceptances at least will be going out on a rolling basis.
ah. then yes, looks like that is what they are doing until further notice lol, yeah, thats what i meant, that acceptances are rolling but rejections/WL will be non-rolling.
Ya me too. I wrote a LOI and included my fall grades in pdf form. They told me they only want e-mails as they are strictly "paperless" this year.
Hopefully some more letters will come out soon. I don't see why they are trying to act semi-rolling, as i am sure that they will accept more people, even from the dates that have gotten acceptance letters. I think they are snagging the "super" applicants in hopes of luring them in early.....and that has seemed to work for some of the people here as i have read.
When are they telling us we would be hearing back after the interview? I interviewed 3rd week of december as well and I have no idea what timeframe to expect.
Oh which day? 🙂
Maybe I'll also ask about when we might expect to hear back (in addition to seeing if the email address contact was correct...). I'm guessing they can't really tell us but I guess it can't hurt my application, right?("oh she's so bothersome, let's not let her in")
I interviewed on Dec 18th (thursday)
I was 8 minutes late to my interview, and i didn't even know it because I thought I was at 9:45, and didn't realize until AFTERthe interview when I had asked the admin what time I was scheduled for. Yet I got some positive feedback from my interviewer at the end regarding my application, but did make a point to apologize in my thank you e-mail. So I doubt they are like that..maybe I will call myself too.
I also interviewed that ThursdayYou did a thank you email too! I also did that, and wondered if that would make a difference because right afterwards, I checked out the U Penn thread here and thought darn, I should have written a card... but oh well.
I wonder who you were... I was the one who got there a few minutes after my interview time (darn NY traffic, I never knew they were *that* bad) but that was okay because my interviewer was like 15 minutes later than I was. Anyway, I'll post back if I hear anything useful from the adm office tomorrow.
I was the canadian dude!!
I think they said they would send some acceptances out towards the end of January. However, they warned us that late December and January interviewees might not hear until March.I was there December 10th. Nobody has heard anything from late November, early December yet, right?

if you have interviews in the morning, 15 minutes before that time. if you have them in the afternoon, 11:45 (before lunch/information talk)Does anybody remember the time they had to arrive at the admissions office on the day of their interview?
^
I think they told me to be there 15 minutes before my interview. Of course, traffic is hell in NYU, so plan to be there an hour early and you might get there right on time. 😛

No, you get that message after the interview. When you schedule your interview your status changes from "Under review" to "interview scheduled".
Yea your right. I thought he was asking about the post-interview invite status.haha. if you read a couple of pages back, some ppl received the "final decision pending" pre-interview and one person on this thread received an interview with the final decision status.
