Although they did say Wednesday was possible, mine was updated thursday. It did make Wednesday quite stressful, though!

So efitz do you think you're going to go with Cincinnati or Toledo?

EDIT: When you are accepted how does your online page change? Is it like with the interview where it just pops up? Or do you have to actually click on "Check status." ?

I'm not sure if I'm going to either. I still am waiting on other decisions and financial aid is going to make a big difference. Cinci doesn't send financial aid out until May 1 (jerks - could they be any closer to the deadline?!)

I don't remember. I think I had to click check status but I'm not sure - it happened 2 months ago.

you have to check status. If accepted, there is a brief message which states " Congratulations, you have been accepted!"

I was accepted today! finally!


i received a phone call from the admissions office. my status has actually yet to be officially changed on medonestop.

I interviewed 1st group of the day on Feb 3. Im an IS male.

Looks like your assertions about interview groups was correct...

Thats great! Congratulations! So, why did they call you instead of the usual status update/e-mail? Did they say?

Question: The alternate list status says they they review our files on a rolling basis, is this true? I thought that nobody got pulled from the waitlist until May?

I called UC to ask whether my status would be updated today, and they said it wouldn't be, and it could still be a few weeks. Do they make the final decisions on rejections later than waitlists and acceptances?

I was on the waitlist last year, so I feel your pain. A few notes:
You wont hear anything until at least May 15. Shorthly thereafter, they will send an update indicating your position on the list by "thirds" (top, middle, bottom).

Last year, OOS people began hearing in May and June, while a smaller amount were pulled in from IS through the summer. Dr. Manuel said they made ~90 offers from the list, so there certainly is hope!

Last year they seemed to be a bit more liberal in their picks from OOS, as applicants withe multiple acceptances were more likely not from OH. I was listed in the top third (IS), but was not admitted. Yet others (OOS) were pulled in from the bottom third.


Keep hope. I know the waiting game is not what you wanted, but you are still in this.

I interviewed the same day/time you did. Was hoping to hear today...although they did tell us it would probably take a month (which would be next week). I just want to know! It's my first choice.

No, its not necessarily a rejection. They don't decide on one whole itnerview day at once. So just because other people who interviewed on your day have heard, doesn't mean you will. Give it a few weeks.

She didn't say. I know they were behind by two weeks, but by now it might be more. People who interview 1/5 heard LAST WEEK! So that means it could be another few weeks for us!! Yikes!

There are quite a few Bombers at Notre Dame to be sure. If you end up at UC Med then you definitely should go check out a Bomber football game on a Friday night against a league opponent... pretty cool experience!

If it is something substantial to add to your application, then yes, they are very receptive. I sent one in a couple months before getting an interview regarding new employment in a medical job. Just make sure you have something relevant to report..

Yes, you can. You just cannot write down parts of the question, but you won't need to write parts of the question because there's a copy of the prompt in the room. Taking notes is allowed but probably won't help much since its a discussion q and a type format.

econdr is totally right. When I interviewed there, someone asked this question of the admissions rep and he said "yes, you may bring in pencil and paper."

Ya I took a pen and pad, and found that it wasn't that useful for me given the format. Take them just in case you want to use them. You never know...

Obviously it is clear that you can now from the above posts, but I just want to add that you really don't need to. They aren't that complicated and you have plenty of time to think of what you want to say and remember it. However, if you try to write things down that 2 minutes will go by really fast.

Plus I don't think it would look good to have to reference your notes to talk about a simple ethical question. Just my 2 cents! Good luck!

Does anybody have an interview on the 4th? I have a hotel room booked for the night of the 3rd through Travelocity. I cannot get any money back. I have withdrawn my application to Cincinnati.

According to the email, I was supposed to be contacted "soon" and its now been 6 days. Just want to make sure I dont miss something...

The first time I got that email, it only took a couple of hours...but for the schools I have received that email since my first one, i never received the certiphi screening email. i assume thats right since i already agreed to the background check the first time...is this your 2nd acceptance to a school that requires the background check?

I heard very soon after my acceptance, but I got mine much earlier in the cycle. You have to think they are severely backed up right now, so I would give it another week before getting too worried. Just be on good behavior til then 😀
