Zip you always make my day! I thought College of Medicine has a different code from the regular campus. Thanks

You're welcome. If you doubt me (don't doubt me :d), you can check the UIC COM Financial Aid Guide here. In Appendix G on page 28, you'll see the code is still 001776. 🙂

I expect nothing less from an admin.

Is the Adcom meeting today (3rd Thurs of Feb) regarding admissions decisions for the past month or have things changed? I was accepted in Nov but my wife interviewed on 1/30.

I was about to mail in my completed immunization documentation form and I was double-checking for every requirement and realized my doctor mis-read the instructions where it says Hep B requires 3 shots AND titer. She gave me my 3 shots over last year but forgot the titer. Darn! I just had a titer for varicella last week and they could have included Hep B in it! Do I really need this titer since my doctor wrote down the dates of my three Hep B shots that I got just last year? Anyway, I'm going to submit this form and I'll call in to see if they still need that titer. I'll get the titer some other time and mail them my lab proof separately I guess...

You need the titer; trust me. Just wait to submit the form [there's no rush] until you have the lab results to go with it.

I just got a status change and the additional correspondence tab. Does that mean I'm in? Or could it be a waitlist??

"A final decision was made on your application on 02-19-09. Please allow two-weeks to receive the correspondence in the mail. If you do not receive this correspondence in two-weeks, please contact the Admissions Office. No decision will be given over the telephone."

I'm pretty sure this is good news so congrats! But I'd refer to the many pages dedicated to interpretation of the status page from earlier in this thread just for your own confirmation.

Hello everybody! I'm just letting everybody on this thread know that I will be withdrawing my interview from UIC (Chicago Campus, March 11th), so hopefully it'll go to somebody out there who really wants to go! I've been accepted to OHSU and will actually be interviewing at UW during that week I had the UIC interview.

Good luck to everybody! 🙂

Just finished and submitted my FAFSA. WOOT!

Wow. My freaking EFC was 6000. Bastards. I'm not going to get any money from my parents, though - how is that fair?

Ok, venting over.

I also got the additional correspondence tab yesterday.

Should I assume I've been accepted. I interviewed about 11 days ago so it was a pretty fast turnaround. I really wanna get that final acceptance letter so I can stop worrying about the microbiology test I'm making up today (i actually missed the test because i was interviewing at uic lol). So can i somehow coax the admission people into telling me if I call them? Can someone hack into UIC's database and tell me if im accepted? haha.

So far all BUT one person who has received a final decision has been made and a additional correspondence change on their status page have received acceptances. However, from reading last year's thread, they have begun sending out rejections around this time with the same messages, so a final decision around now doesn't necessary suggest an acceptance. The best bet would to wait for the CBC mail, which usually comes in 2-3 days, before any celebrations.

Do CBC emails come again to those that have already received and completed them for other schools?

Nope, I believe it just comes after your first acceptance and then subsequent acceptance schools that use the CBC service just use your previously filled out CBC. So if you've already filled out a CBC this cycle, you might just need to wait for that large packet, or check the upper right hand corner of your status page for a date next to "Additional Corresp". Another speculation is that if you have a date within probably 2 days of first getting the "Final decision..." status, you're in; if not, not looking so good...

You only have to fill it out once. But you should get another one if you've been accepted to another school. I was accepted to another school before UIC and received two CBC emails.

well its been about a day since i got the additional correspondence message. does the cbc email come over the weekends or do i have to wait until next week.

Well I was deferred in January got the status change yesterday, with additional correspondence in the corner(no date next to add correspondence). So im trying to patiently await to see if i get a CBC........ahhhh!!!

Frankly put, waiting sucks. Good luck!

Hey all, does anyone know when second look day is for the Chicago campus? And are there second look days for the other campuses?

Thanks!

is there an expected date for the next batch of interview invites? if not does anyone know when the last batch was?

It was toward the end of April last year. They only mentioned the Chicago campus.

Nope, there isn't. I imagine they'll start tapering off pretty soon; the office is booked pretty much through March.

well guys, no CBC, so I'm starting to think rejection 🙁 Im still trying to have hope for Monday though. I guess I'll find for sure out within a week probably.

So status change decision as of 2/19/09 with correspondence section and CBC email = acceptance? Because if so....... 😀 Is this correct?!

It's unlikely you'd get a CBC e-mail without an acceptance [unless you were accepted somewhere else]. Wait for the large packet before you get too excited.

Status change last Thursday and CBC this morning! I've completed a Certiphi Screening after receiving a CBC a while back, so AMCAS sends them out again regardless of whether or not it's already been completed.

How long should I wait for my site placement before I call the admissions office? I had my deposit and everything turned in nearly two weeks ago.

Give it another week and then call. The "received at UIC-to-received in COM Admissions" time is sometimes, to phrase it charitably, "suboptimal."

got the cbc email from amcas this morning.
waiting for the packet though.
im really assuming im accepted now because uic is the only school on the cbc list that ive heard from.

anyways I'm gonna be a doctor!!!! so excited lol

maybe ill see you guys there next year, depending on what i hear from rush and wash u

Status change 2/19- no cbc, no amcas email 😳/ Congratulations to the rest of you! Best of luck

Never mind! I got it today: Urbana, Rockford.

FYI, if you're submitting appeals letters, send them ASAP. It seems as though the committee is reviewing them and granting some.

Would it be okay if we e-mailed in the appeals letters do you think?

No kidding? The office is so slimy, I called yesterday and asked when I should send in a letter and the lady I talked to said they won't even be looked at until after May 15th.

Yeah, this is horrible communication. Not a happy camper.

if they are reviewing petitions already, how long will it take for them to notify us of the decision?

Zipmedic - How do you know if the committee is granting the appeals? I'm just wondering because I sent mine in about a month ago and have not heard anything. Thanks.
