It usually takes a little over a month. You'll probably hear right before Christmas break starts for them, so end of next week?
 
Does anyone know much about Roch's waitlist? How many typically end up being offered a spot?

I think I interviewed about a week after you. It seems like so much time has passed by, but actually its only been a month. Man I want to know so bad... in or out....

Apparently, during the interview, they said they take a significant # of people from the waitlist too...
 
Oh wait! I have my date wrong- I interviewed the 10th... any chance you were there that day?

You're right it feels so much longer than a month!! I'm anxious to hear back- I'll post when they let me know either way!
 
282 accepted, 101 enrolled.... lots of movement in the waitlist so dont give up hope

We actually have 104... but that's just a few more 😉

I am not sure how much waitlist movement we have... its hard to tell since lots of schools overaccept (us being one of them) and then it comes down in size. Sorry I don't know the answer!

Has anyone who interviewed on or around Nov.3rd heard back from Rochester? If so, when? And in what format (email, snail mail, phone call)?

Interviewed within a week of that and still haven't heard! Status page still says "Invite." Hoping for the best!
 
When scheduling an interview, has anyone checked the dates multiple times and seen an earlier date become available? Should I wait and see or just schedule for the earliest available date right now?
 
Same here...I interviewed the 10th of November and am anxiously awaiting (hopefully) a phone call :xf:

Personally, I'd go ahead and schedule now. You run a greater risk of losing the earlier available dates that are listed now as compared to getting the chance to have one become available. Just my opinion, though!

I called admissions today and they said that they will have completed review of all applications by the end of January... so if your status is still "Complete" pre-interview you'll probably get an answer from them in the next few weeks...

Is it just me or is Rochester taking forever to get back to us interviewees? I interviewed first week of Nov. and have already heard back from schools where I interviewed five weeks later. Anyone heard anything?
 
I also interviewed early in Nov and haven't heard anything back...its so nerve racking! :boom:
 
interviewed in November. Waitlisted a few days before Xmas. 🙁

Anyone hear about second look weekend?
 
does anyone know if the essays prior to interviewing are supposed to be "half-page" as in half the length of the space they give you or as in half the page of a normal 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper?

I'm pretty sure its just half a sheet of normal paper. They probably put that limit so they can print both of your essays on one sheet to give to your interviewers.

I interviewed the first week of Nov and haven't heard a peep from Rochester either. Does anyone know when the admissions committee met? and how soon after they start notifying?

I interviewed early November too and called them last week. They said decisions will be sent out after the new year.
 
Waiting never seemed so long till now. It's been almost 9 weeks since I interviewed and haven't heard a peep. On top of that, my status page now says nothing. It changed from "invite" to nothing. Anyone have any news?
 
My status page made the same change.........I hope they let us know soon...
 
Well Vulcan, hopefully it's a good sign. I just don't know what to make of this wait, especially when a few people that interviewed after me heard back, at least with a waitlist offer.

Well I'm gonna be as optimistic as possible since U of R is one of my top choices! :xf:🙂
 
My status page also says nothing now... pre-interview, so I'm guessing maybe the server is down.

Is the date set in stone? When are we supposed to hear about it? I'd like to start making travel plans as soon as possible to minimize cost.

Yup... unless something weird happens w/ room reservations or professors changing test dates on us. I'm sorry, I can't tell you exactly when info will be sent out, but hopefully by the end of January!

I interviewed 10/10 and I am currently on the waitlist. Anyone have any tips?
 
Hi guys. I was lucky enough to get an acceptance to both UR and my state school. I really loved UR on my interview, but just wanted to hear from current students some potential reasons why I might want to go to UR above my cheaper state school. I know I have to do my own cost/benefit analysis, but I'd love to hear about things that current students like about the school.

I just called admissions and was surprised to know that after interviewing during the first week of Nov, I am still under review. I am not understanding their process of review. Is it just random and not in the order of interview date?

I think w/ the holidays it kinda throws a kink in things. I think you should be finding out soon though... I saw some letters on the secretary's desk today that she was sending out for pre-interview rejections, so I'm guessing the adcom must have been doing something. Best of luck! :luck:

Congrats realEyez! I interviewed today and absolutely loved it. They told us 8 weeks. Does anyone think that it might be less than that though?

Interviewed in last week of Nov. and just got accepted today! You guys probably won't have to wait much longer.
