I actually called her and that is how I found out that you can't get info over the phone. She told me just to email her about the waitlist and she would try to find out what she could. I no longer have the email that she sent me back to quote, but it wasn't good news 🙁, which is why I say be prepared for bad news but hope for good news. My heart sank and I failed my Neurobiology right after finding that out. Ouch
Well, if you couldn't guess from my previous answer I am not in the priority people group. My friend emailed Dana and he was told that he is in a "high hold" group, which seems to be the group that are accepted from the waitlist, but he did not recieve that top-priority email. There are no numbers it seems, only groups of people likely to be accepted... and everyone else.
Out of depression and a generally terrible feeling, I emailed Dana back quite a long email asking for advice. She said that she read my LOI and my updates and she was impressed by them and to just be patient, my application would be reviewed and I just need to wait. She also said there is nothing else I can do from this point on (which I disregarded and wrote to my interviewer and updated). So, my guess is this: People in the "high hold group" are accepted immediately when seats open. All the rest of us are in limbo for the extra seats the open that are not expected. This is only a guess mind you. Dana said that they expect to select 65 applicants off the wait list. Lets just hope that you and I are among them and that is all we can do from this point on.
On a lighter note, I litterally just got an email saying the my first research paper was accepted for publication in Pharmaceuticals!!!!! If I don't get into medical school this year, at least I've made a difference in the world! YAY!😀
... looks like I'll have to update again! Haha. Talk about being annoying, just emailed my update today and now another one.
