Dear Applicant:

Your file is complete and under review with our Committee on Admissions. If you have indicated that you will be taking or have taken a recent MCAT, your file will be formally reviewed by the Committee on Admissions once the new scores are received in our office.




i called yesterday to check my app, and they said they were swamped over the weekend.
 
I still haven't received a thing from them. I have been verified for a while. Do they pre-screen?
 
FYI - you don't need a letter from your advisor..Loyola sent me a 'complete' email even though my advisor hadn't uploaded a letter..I called in to see what was up, and they said the advisor LOR is optional.
 
After receiving secondaries from every other school, I have yet to even hear anything from this one, (not even acknowledging receipt of my primary!).

Is something going on? Think I should call and see whats up?

when i called, they had mine, but the guy said they were swamped w/ apps over last weekend. give it a few more days, and try calling next thurs
 
Does anyone know how to fill out Form C if you have a packet of letters with a cover letter compiled by a pre-medical advisor, but not necessarily a letter written by the advisor???? For most other schools, you check a box that says Committee Letter/Packet. Should I just fill in the advisor's name and school next to the Premedical Committee option on this form???

In the directions it states that the recommendation from the pre-med advisor is OPTIONAL. Check the Letters Packet box (or whatever is the opposite of the committee letter box) and submit the other LORs you have. Leave the advisor blank as to prevent confusion about what letters are actually in the packet. Hope this helps!
 
I'm finally ready to mail my app. Everything is in the envelope and ready to go except I can't figure out whether I need to send a check for the application fee. I know I prepaid for one school but I don't remember if it was this school. How did everyone else pay?

Don't send a check. You paid for this school in order to even see the application.

really?! lol I totally assumed I read the application but I saw the prompts on this thread 😛

is there a deadline for paying? or the whole thing should be in by one month?!
 
i recently received this secondary (8/13) and had a question on their lor requirement. my premed advisory committee compiles all the letters that we receive from profs into a letter packet, which is then uploaded onto amcas. we also don't have premed advisors that write recommendations for us. how should i designate this on the loyola secondary? i don't see an option for a letter packet, only for a committee letter and individual writers. should i type in the individual letter writers or should i select the committee letter option?

I believe I used individual letters since my packet of letters had too many in it. This allows you to designate the letters that satisfy their requirements.

Did you receive one or did you hear from someone else? If you got one, when did you get it/what are your stats (if you don't mind me asking)?
 
Christ, people are getting interviews while I've been verified for a month and a half and haven't heard a peep from them.

i got one...my stats aren't anything to make anybody feel intimidated here
 
omgosh phone is kinda scary and i dont get reception at work! i can imagine my phone hanging up on them after hello loll i probably wont pick up unfamiliar numbers! do you guys think they'd leave a msg for interviews?!

not that im expecting a phone call anytime soon i have yet to start this secondary 😛
 
has anybody called in regards to not getting the secondary?

Where do you even check your status? The application page is sort of 👎
 
what if we finish this right on the deadline! did you guys send it with priority mail or ask for signature to be sure it gets there on time?
 
Interview invite, complete 7/24,
first interview day is sept 7th...

You could do prioirty, and get delivery confirmation, that way you know when its delivered and have some sort of proof when you mailed it.
 
Just FYI for everyone on thursdays (and only this day) from 9-5 you can check your status, they are really quick and the guy was really nice. THey give you pretty detailed info to. Like when i called he said my file has been reviewed by the committee, and they are going to relook at it again between now and october to determine if i get an interview, so i suppose they dont want to give me the 1st interviews, but like me enough to maybe consider me at a later date.

👍to this school its nice to have detailed info on whre you stand 🙂

Thanks! I just called and they said I should have gotten an email saying that I'm complete and under consideration. I never got one. Man, I hope these mistakes don't happen with interview invite emails.
 
I just called and got a woman who seemed very impatient...

serious...i nvr got a complete email here but they said i was like a while ago...mcw never emails me...and schools like temple and others seem to not always send interview invites via email just update status pages...now i have to obsessively check like 35 shcools status pages each day lol.

wow i just called the guy and he said the exact same thing to me LOL. let's hope we both get interviews at later dates!:xf::xf::xf::xf::xf:

lol we should hope that it means something good...it could also mean that all applicants will be later reviewed in whcih case its not nearly as exciting...but lets go with they like us and will interview us later ahah 😛.

And judging from your guys responses...maybe the key is get the guy on the phone, not the woman lol.
 
I just called to ask about why I haven't received an secondary yet (after being verified for more than a month), and the woman said they are still screening files, and I should find out "In a couple of weeks". Seriously?! Mayo took minutes for their initial screen!
 
for what lead to your decision to pursue medicine, isn't that pretty much the personal statement? ahh i took months to say everything in there and now im left with nothing to fill out these 25 lines, i can come up with other reasons but non of them are going to be as strong as my PS 🙁

seriously my PS pretty much covers the first 4 questions here!!!!!

time to get creative? 😛 I agree on that question 4 though, it was kinda tough to not sound like an entire repeat. Hopefully i managed to do it.
 
Do they ask you to pick your interview date while you're on the phone with them?
 
Forgive me I meant september 8th, I stand corrected, the interview time is 730, i got it mixed up, it was a tuesday which is the 8th.

And yes they give you a choice but the lady sounded relieved that I chose the first interview date.

edit: oh wait, lots of things one day, but be there at 7:30? that would be better. but being all prepared and drilled that early? no fun.
 
I still haven't received the secondary. :scared:

I'm going to call them this week.
