Haha Jolt. Well, I am someone who listens to constructive criticisms and tries to make adjustments when necessary. You know, you can't be boisterous always..

That's good of you. I just think it's probably really stressful for someone with no interview invites to constantly hear about people who have 5+ interviews already. And it makes it seem like you are bragging (which you are entitled to, 10 invites already is amazing), but that is sure to rub people the wrong way...Haha Jolt. hey does anyone know when mayo's going to invite me for interview?
hey guys, just got an interview invite...so pumped. i got an LOR request july 29th and interview invite aug 18th.
Congratulations! This is the first non-late-night-email-interview I've heard about!
how dare he not post it on SDN immediately!!!he said he got it 8/18, so it was still probably late-night
yea, it was late night actually : ) 11:30pm pacific
To give you guys a heads up, I got a LOR request yesterday night. I sent in my fee on 8/7
Interview invite this morning. Good luck to all with invites, and all who are patiently hoping/waiting.
Pre-LOR. We need to just be grateful for the interviews we have 🙂Be careful what you ask for... I heard back this morning too. Wasn't good news, they didn't even want to read my LoRs... 🙁
I hope I hear something tonight. I can't stand this waiting for LOR request. Every morning when I check my email, I'm half hoping there is an email from them and half hoping there isn't in case it's a rejection. PLEASE, Mayo, ask for my LORs.

I will say what I've said this whole time: interviews, while really great, are just REALLY expensive rejections until proven otherwise.
Same boat. Want to grab a beer while we play the waiting game?I have a similar wait post-LOR-confirmation........
about to get rejected any minute of any day now...oh I am such a pessimist.
Indeed, sorry for everyone who's gotten bad news...Aww, I'm so sorry! This process is tough and unpredictable sometimes.
Phew! I finally got caught up after getting back from vaction two days ago (not that any of you really care). Congrats to all who have received good news (LOR requests and interview invites), good luck to all who have not been selected, and stay positive to all who are still waiting!
Welcome back lrkoehle! I am not a regular poster here, but I check it regularly and noticed you hadn't posted in a while.

Yeah, I totally was thinking this earlier today too! Welcome back, we need your Mayo love here. 🙂
I'm currently in post-completion limbo, would it be prudent to email Ms. Landswerk with the fact that I am volunteering abroad until November, or would you suggest that I wait until I hear news either way? I suppose it could be seen as both informative for their purposes and supplementary to my application. Thanks for your help.
I don't know about this, and actually I am kind of confused as to what you are saying. Are you going to ask them to speed up your decision because of a study abroad?
They give you a range of dates to pick from, but I'm sure that if those dates happened to be when you were out of the country, they would try to accommodate you then. I personally wouldn't call and ask them this now-- it's hard to interpret how people take things when you can't physically see their reactions, and so someone may accidentally interpret this as your presuming you deserve an interview and thus are laying out stipulations for them.
This is how much I love Mayo. Their logo (without the name "Mayo") ..has been my profile picture on facebook since October 2007. I don't think anyone's going to believe that but it's true.lol. I'm glad to have been given a chance to interview here.🙂. I wish everyone here good luck. Hopefully we'll all be classmates in 2010.![]()
Yay, I'm not the craziest one here! Although, I don't really use facebook at all, so it is hard to know if I wouldn't have done the same thing. I do have a picture I took of the Mayo Medical School sign posted on my desk though.
I have tried to not pick a favorite school, because chance of admission is so low (like what, 2% at Mayo or something crazy) but the more I learn about Mayo, the harder that is becoming... after I interview I'm sure it will only get worse... and I think chances of admission after interview are only 25%, which is pretty low considering everyone they interview they liked enough to invite.

1.5%. Wow! Stanford couldn't have been too much lower... how much was theirs if you remember?1.5%
Just checked the 2009 USNews book this week. The only one lower is Stanford.
