I had some spare time at the airport a few weeks ago, so I looked through last year's Mayo thread. It seems to me that the acceptances last year were going out on either Friday or Monday, but so far this year they have gone out on a Tuesday and a Wednesday. If I were a betting man I would put my money on tomorrow or Monday as the big day, but it could be as late Tuesday or Wednesday next week depending on how busy they are. Regardless, I think some people will find themselves with some wonderful news to share with their families over the Thanksgiving holiday, and I would love to be one of them.
Also, speaking from my personal experience, for those of you waiting on the initial hold/accepted contact from Mayo, try to not let it drive you too crazy. Just try to relax and let it come when it may (easier said than done), and if you end up on hold its not the end of the world, just ask Pharroh.

I really like the idea of us having this organization. Last year's thread had it with acceptances, holds, etc. I think it would be beneficial to us and future cycles if we do it too. Feel free to add yourself (or don't and destroy my dream):

Word. I thought that Mayo's curriculum was head and shoulders above the curriculum at all of the schools I have interviewed so far! You actually get to start clinical rotations during your M2 year while you're learning about each system. How cool is that!
Yeah, it is pretty sweet. They integrate patients and clinical situations into every single topic you learn starting from first year apparently. Seems like a much more logical way to learn in my opinion.

I never thought of it like that. I am going to call Marcy and tell her I have been accepted. She'll be like, "but I don't remember calling you..." and I'll be like "oh, don't you?" Then they will have to accept to avoid any kind of controversy! This plan is fool proof! Sorry for keeping you waiting, just give me a minute to make that call and I will be accepted in no time!

So I have been on and off SDN for a while just reading up when I was wondering a deadline or whatever, but I registered so that I can share the news I just learned. I just got off the phone with mayo and I found out when the next board is meeting!
The next time the board is meeting to decide on admissions is the week of the 30th, so expect to hear by the end of that week or the beginning of the next. No acceptances are going out until then.
Good luck! And a little shout out to the 10/23 interviewees!

AHHHH!!! I wonder how many people they are going to accept in the next round. By the week of the 30th, there will only be 5 more interview days, including Nov 30, so I would imagine it will be a pretty big group (maybe 10-20?).
Did she finally go on leave? When I called maybe two weeks ago she was still there, and I was surprised.

I would love to be able to tell you I will be one of your classmates next year, but as we have seen no more decisions until probably early December. Hey, come to think of it, you are already accepted there, so why don't you call them and tell them they need to release more decisions. What are they gunna do, revoke your acceptance? I don't think so. You should give them a piece of you mind!

Although their admissions process is rolling, it would seem that the fairest way to conduct this to make sure they gave everyone a fair shot based on their interview date would be to not make a decision on candidates from a certain interview day until ALL of them had been ranked. That would allow them to compare fairly sizeable groups to come to sensible decisions, would it not? I kinda hope that's how they do it.

I dunno, it seemed to me that you and bamtuba were pretty darn distraught about not knowing who your fellow classmates will be. Therefore, I think you guys should call and let them know how upset you are. Plus, you are already accepted, so it won't hurt your chance of acceptance. 😛

Congrats guys! I wonder what this brings the total number of appointments up to.
Congrats to everyone who got the news today! You all won't regret coming here! The first few blocks have been amazing.....tho I am not complaining about the break I am currently on after anatomy haha. Congrats again to everyone who has gotten in and for those who haven't......don't give up hope. I didnt end up getting in until May.

Well, its at least 3 more now. I wonder what happened to the plan of no appointments going out until AFTER Thanksgiving. Apparently Mayo likes to be spontaneous? Maybe more will go out next week after Thanksgiving? I doubt it. Did anyone get the dreaded hold email? I feel like I haven't seen many of those lately.
Anyways, congrats to those who got the wonderful news today.
Apparently Mayo didn't go for my update letter...oh well 🙁

My cell doesn't get any reception while I'm at work, so I was in the same position.
On a positive note, I think it may be a good sign 😉
Congrats to everyone that got in yesterday. Would you guys mind telling us when you interviewed and when you were finally ranked? It seems like the hold status email and the acceptance phone calls go out on the same day. I interviewed on 11/2 and was ranked on 11/12, but I didn't receive an acceptance/hold email yesterday. Weird.
