Does anyone remember what the grading scheme is here? I think it was strictly pass/fail but I can't remember

3rd and 4th year definitely have some form of honors. ALL medical schools have some sort of honors for those years.
 
Ahh sweet, gotta love P/F. I got the acceptance yesterday. Still waiting to hear about the PORTAL program... the interviewer said we probably won't find out about that until March. I think this will be my school come August regardless of PORTAL decision. Good luck to everyone waiting
 
So does silence mean rejection, and is it by mail? Do you guys remember from your interivews?
I was looking through last year's thread, and there were acceptances and waitlists, but no one posted about rejections. Odd.

Acceptance/Waitlist via email. Rejections via snail mail. She also said NOT to call if you don't get an email because she really doesn't like to have to be the one to give the bad news. She said to wait a few weeks before you call about your status because snail mail can take a bit longer sometimes.
 
Yup, silence = rejection. What I'm wondering is what interviews they have reviewed thus far... It seems most "invites were from Oct 22nd and prior? Any from the last week of October?

It really sucks to be on a ranked waitlist and not be able to find out even a rough idea of where you are on that list. With a waitlist of ~400 I don't see the point of even bothering if you're not in the top 100 of that list.

Complete 9/22.

About a month ago I sent an "in the area" email to all the NYC schools for week of November 20th and got this response from MSSM: "This will be marked in your file. If you are called for an interview, please call the office and we will try our best to accommodate you."

Some other people complete after my date seem to have gotten invites.


It's strange how no Manhattan schools have given me invites yet, since I'm from near NYC and schools in Boston and Chicago have invited me. Don't understand why NYC hates me.

No, it's not a rejection. It's not a rejection until they stop issuing invites. They're inviting people who they perceive as having a better app than you right now, not necessarily in the order they get your application. They may very well come back to you before they stop issuing invites.
 
dude, if it makes you feel better, i sent them an in the area email....and never got a response about a note in my file.

apparently the ppl were on vacation at the time
 
Congrats on all the acceptances. Still trying to submit my 2ndary here 🙁...
their website is not helping. When ever I hit submit at the payment page, it says "Connection Failure"... I've tried it with IE, Firefox and Netscape. Did anyone have the same problem??

I never got a response either, but when the "in the area" time came and I went to their office to take a look, the office lady looked up my file and said "oh, you did say you were gonna be in the area today."

So apparently, they did make a note in my file, they just didn't send me an email about it.
 
Hey all! I was wondering if [FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]anyone was having problems sending the secondary. When I get to the section titled "Step Four - Payment" and click "Submit" after typing in my credit card information, it does not go through to the next page, but instead says "Connection Failure" on the top of the page. I enabled my cookies and javascipt and disabled my popup blockers. I am also using the latest version of Internet Explorer, but it repeatedly states Connection Failure. When trying to pay on other computers, I receive the same response. I was just wondering if there is anything else I can do to avoid this problem..
 
Did you guys get 'complete' emails from Sinai? I sent in my secondary the end of August and haven't heard anything from them.

They don't send complete emails. You have to call them.

First off congrats to everyone already accepted and people with interview invites! I was just wondering if I've been thrown to the silent reject pile since i was complete on 8/22, and so many people that were complete after have already gotten invites?

I wouldn't worry so much about the 'silent rejection.' I was complete earlier than that in August and just received an invite on 10/23 or some such. It ain't over until you have a letter of rejection in hand, so good luck!
 
I second that - a friend of mine was complete in August and didn't get an interview invite until late January. Accepted weeks later with scholarship. Granted, I'm not sure if this was a rare exception or if it was in fact representative of how this process works, but use that as a beacon of hope for now - I sure am 🙂
 
This place is truly amazing. I loved it! It is by far my favorite so far.

They said by the second week of November for 10/28 interview.... but no word yet. Wondering if other people heard anything from interviews post 10/20 but before November 1
 
I *think* that week went out w/ last week's acceptance/rejections?
 
Can anyone else confirm? Anyone who had an interview after 10/23 who has heard back already?

i was 10/20 and got in on 11/4. at my interview, they told us 2nd or 3rd week of november... looks like they were early.
 
just got invite for 1/5.

anyone else on that day?
