I wouldn't say that. Both the students I know that go to NYU Med were complete in the summer were given interviews elsewhere and got in and then were interviewed at NYU in Decmber/January respectively. NYU definitly keeps re-reviewing

..and someone posted right before you and said they just received an interview invite this morning, complete in Mid-July..
 
bah! complete 7/28 .... this all is so frustrating.... 🙁
 
Interview invite, complete 7/14, OOS

if you look at last years thread, tons of ppl got interviews wayy later than their completion date.

I am in the "late July complete" camp and have heard nothing, but like others are saying, I am not angsty over this one yet - last year's thread may allay concerns.

me too and i've gotten no news. don't worry too much, i had an interview a couple weeks ago and my student host told me that he had 2 interviews in february and got into both the schools, not waitlist or anything. every school is quirky about their own admissions system so there's not much to do but wait it out. it's okay, there's plenty of people in your boat too (me included 🙂)

I'm not sure how you make that assumption. It's nt over until u get a rejection! Keep you head up.

Heh..whoops. I thought he said August 22nd. Nevermind! Although I still highly doubt I'm getting an interview.

By the way...why did you withdraw from Jefferson pre-interview! I'd never withdraw or decline an interview until I had an acceptance in hand
 
Not sure this is the place to discuss that, thanks for letting me know what you would do. I'm fine with my decisions.

Yeah, I know - I thought he said July instead of August. I'm a re-applicant so I think I'm totally justified in being a little crazy at this point.

Probably a few days. I don't remember exactly, but I think it was reasonably quick.
 
interview invite today! one of my top choices by far.

complete 7/28 (secondary submitted 7/26)

I got my secondary in by about mid-July, and my letters arrived in early August. Got the complete email 8/10, so apparently a pretty quick turnaround.

Also, your name and avatar are what we like to call "made of win". Timmay!
 
Please pretty please can I get an interview here!!

I got interviews Sinai and Einstein!!! I assume I won't get Columbia or Cornell, so I'll shut up if I can just get NYU!!!

...and maybe Downstate.

For some weird reason, I'm having a lot of success so far in NY: Interview invites at Upstate, Stonybrook, Einstein, Sinai! Just have NYU, the ivies and Downstate to go.

I guess this can be a general question for all secondaries, but when they ask you to list the courses can I choose any course that I think should fulfill the requirements?
I've been listing the first two classes I took in biology for bio requirements, but NYU asks you to write the grades, and I rather list my advanced biology courses than my introductory courses because I did much better later on in my undergraduate education than in the beginning.
Is this ok to do?

I suggest listing the pre-requisite requirements. Bio, Gen chem, Orgo, and physics.

My status has been "Application in Process" for quite some time...is that the same as complete and under review...or am I still waiting to be complete?

Do they send complete e-mails? B/c I haven't received one...

Either way they could see your primary so it doesn't matter. The secondary just gives them an easy way of sorting things. I wouldn't worry about it.

I got a complete email, and then the secondary said complete a few days later. They responded to my email very quickly when I updated them.

They do send complete e-mails along with a status check that says "Under review"
 
I've been complete over 1.5 months at this school and I'm still "Under Review"...does this mean i'm rejected?

I chose to write this post because I think some of you are getting ahead of yourselves in worrying too much at this point. I got into NYU, and here are my numbers and when I applied:

science gpa: 3.4
nonscience gpa: 3.7
mcat: 31S

applied amcas: end of june
completed secondary: early august
invited for interview: JANUARY
interviewed: end of january
waitlisted: march
accepted off the waitlist: may

kicking everyone's butt at literally every subject: september 09 baby.

don't give up and stop this nonsense thinking just because you applied a week earlier and haven't heard back, it's a lost cause. it's NOT.
